I went to Guadajara Restaurant on July 28 and ordered some dessert. I left satisfied until I saw later on my account that they had not only taken out the $12 plus I had spent on my dessert, but another $46.36 which I had not spent there. I called them and they said I needed to talk to the manager, Jennifer. I believe they called her and she called me back. So when I talked to Jennifer, she first told me I had to bring her a paper bank statement. I told her I didn't have a statement, but I could show her on my phone where it was taken out of my account. She said to come in the next week when she would be at the restaurant and show her the deduction on my phone and she would give me cash. So I went on Tuesday or Wednesday after a long drive to Amarillo and her staff said that she left at 3pm and I would have to come back when she was there. I told them I work and could not come before 3pm and they said I would have to because they couldn't do anything without her presence. I became angry and walked out and to my back, they said she works on weekends and to come Saturday or Sunday. Well, I got busy that weekend and couldn't come on Saturday. I think I went in that Sunday after 3pm hoping she would be there, (I'm admittedly fuzzy on dates and times) but she was not and again her staff told me she would have to handle it and I would have to come back when she was there. So another week went by because I could not get over there during Jennifer's work hours. I was angry and I walked out on the staff twice. Finally, today I called and she was there. Yes, I was angry because they had $46.36 of mine that they did not seem to want to return to me, plus, they kept putting it back on me acting like I was lying to them and I was somehow at fault and quibbling with me about how many times I had come in person. Today, when I called, the first thing Jennifer told me was that I would have to bring a paper statement from my bank before they could reimburse me. I became upset again and told her I could not go to my bank to get a paper, and she had told me previously that I could use my phone and she would reimburse me. So finally she said if I came down there right away and showed her on my phone where it was taken out and it didn't show "pending" that she would reimburse me. I went over right away and showed her where on my account it had been taken out. Then she tells me to show her a statement. Growing more and more flustered and angry, I finally found where my statements were and clicked to access them, but they wouldn't load. So I argued with her some more and she actually denied that she had told me I had to have a paper statement. (My husband heard me arguing that point with her over the phone.) She kept telling me that she was trying to help me. She even said that her staff could have helped me without her being there and questioned whether I had actually come in. Finally, I said could you just reimburse me and get this over with and she huffed and puffed, but she gave me the cash and walked away. I never once received an apology. Instead I was treated rudely and accused of lying. I told her that I would never come back to that restaurant and I would make sure that my friends and I never met there again. She said "fine," so apparently, she doesn't mind losing customers. This little interaction of her reimbursing me took all of 4 minutes once she decided to do it. It could have been done two weeks ago if she had cared enough to let her staff know they could have reimbursed me, or had taken the time to meet with me on MY time to reimburse me for money her establishment had taken from me. It would have saved me so much anguish and besides, that is what restaurant managers who care about their customers do. She told me she has never figured out how that money was taken out of my account. There were no customer tickets rung up in error that day. She might want to investigate and find out if one of her staff is pocketing free money from her customers. At least she should stop blaming her customers for hers and her staff's incompetence. read more
