I recently came for a dog nail clipping only. My 13 month old puppy (Morty) is super skiddish and his nails are black and thick. She figured we would start clipping with him next to me but then my puppers tried to bite her. (Sorry!) Then she took Morty behind the counter, put him on the table, then cut a little more and started filing away. Morty was so calm and behaved at that point. [Maybe he is too coddled when I'm right next to him.] I tell you this because she is willing to try different methods and/or approaches to give you the satisfaction that your dog has been properly trimmed. Larger, big chain stores will tell you "the dog wouldn't let me," then you as the owner got to figure out the next time you're coming back. She was NOT judgemental due to the fact Morty is not neutered and not necessarily trained. She recognized that Morty was a special and very desirable for his breed. There are so many dogs in there, waiting for a bath, being dried in the dryer cage, or waiting for their owner, and they must be happy because none of them were barking. I can't wait to come back for anal glands and a bath for my Morty. read more

I wanted to like this place but I didn't like it at all. First I didn't like way my dog looked after the grooming. Her nail was still long, her hair was uneven. She had some kind of white powder or dandruff on all over her body. She doesn't have any scalp issues so I'm not sure what's happened. Also there is no parking spots when I pick her up. My 11 year old Pug has always been extremely anxious about getting his nails trimmed. I have had his nails trimmed at other pet groomers, and also at his veterinarian with no luck! Today I was extremely fortunate to find Jackie, and her extremely sweet assistant to help my pug, Brisket with his nails getting trimmed. Jackie and her assistant immediately made Brisket feel calm and they had his nails trimmed within minutes. Brisket was not anxious at all during the nail trim. Jackie suggested that I come in to get Brisket's nails trimmed every three weeks...I will definitely be booking monthly appointments for Brisket at K-9!!! Jackie is great! I've never seen anyone else clip dog nails so fast and easily. We have a cranky old chihuahua and she's in and out in no time. Jackie is so friendly and clearly is great with dogs. The place was a little hard to find my first time. The lot looks abandoned almost- she's in the back and you park on the street. I brought my dog in to get her nails and furry feet trimmed. No appointment needed, I just walked right in and she did it right away. She told me that she's not always there all day, and to call before arriving unless you've made an appointment. (As she was talking to me, she started grooming another dog who clearly loved her to death) Only reason it's not a 5 star rating is because she's cash or check only. She doesn't have a Square or anything like that. We will be back! read more

Our first visit with a relatively seasoned small dog, who enjoys the spa set up less and less as she approached her teens. Jacquie's arrangement is good and local for us. A functional looking set up, (individual crates for dogs before and after when necessary), efficiently and kindly run. She's a good listener. Wanting to get things as right as possible. And she did. Our rather scruffy, wintery coated 12 year old girl now returned to 1 year old puppy. I like being asked to get back in touch if anything's looking wrong...could be corrected. That's a first for me. Jacquie, the owner, clearly likes dogs and her work a lot. Love that. We'll definitely use this very good, very small grooming outfit again. And give it an enthusiastic thumbs up! read more

My 8 1/2 year old Border Collie had NEVER been to the groomer and was terribly matted. I posted on Facebook for some recommendations, and had been in contact with some "mobile" services that were through the roof expensive. My Facebook responses were many and two very good friends pleaded that I take Baxter to K-9 Klipping, which is located behind a garden shop on North Altadena Drive, just above Pasadena High School. Don't blink, or you'll miss it! I left a message and Jackie called me back the next day and I brought him straight in. He acted like he'd been going there forever, when in reality it was his first time! It's a small place, but Jackie is amazing and friendly and efficient and honest and when she said it would be a couple hours, she wasn't kidding. She called back less than 2 hours after I dropped him off and he was done...everything...bathed, dried, clipped, brushed, nails trimmed...he looked fabulous, smelled better and his coat was AMAZING! I honestly couldn't believe it was the same dog. Jackie was shocked that he had never been to the groomer before; said how well he behaved and would welcome him back ANY TIME! I highly highly highly recommend K-9 Klipping. Jackie has a large following of completely satisfied customers; many that come on a weekly basis for their primping! I was completely satisfied with the initial cost, which was half what I was being quoted from the "mobile" groomers. K-9 Klipping is a 10 in my book! read more

We absolutely love Jackie and her pal Cash. I was looking for a close and friendly place to bring my fur baby, Kennedy. The very first time I brought her to Jackie, she looked like a homeless beach dog (Kennedy not Jackie).
