It was my first time experiencing Kühl and I was pleasantly surprised with the staff and the quality of the clothes. I participated in their Winter event and entered a raffle for one of their items. They were also serving Chardonnay and a red wine which I do not remember. I ended up trying their jeans and bought myself a pair, I have to say, their jeans are amazing and comfortable! We've come in here a few times to get some great sports/summer clothes. The quality is great, there's a wide selection of styles and sizes, and customer service is lovely. Even better, if you can't find a colour or size in an item you like, they'll check the back for you and also recommend the website for more options. Beware! Returns are not getting processed. I returned a coat unopened in its shipping package with a receipt from the SF store and they will not refund me! I have both returned and original receipt but the refund never showed up in my CC account. They said the accounting team is worried about fake purchases so canceled my refund. Kuhl is my absolute favorite brand, it's practically all that I wear. The staff at the San Francisco store was very helpful with a couple of online returns that I brought with me. They had an excellent selection in the store but unfortunately the Rydr Lite pants that I wanted were out of stock and this particular style in my size won't be back in stock until February. read more

It was clear they were upset because I preferred to be assisted by a female employee instead of them. This kind of unprofessional behavior was not only uncomfortable but completely uncalled for. A workplace should be respectful of customer preferences, not gossip about them. I love their products, especially their shirts but their return policy is horrible! I bought a pair of pants, they didn't fit and I brought them back literally 1 week later. They said that the tags still have to be in place and there was a tiny stain (which was later washed out). No place of this quality has such a bad return policy for the prices they charge. I've returned the same type of stuff at Patagonia, North Face and REI. Be aware that the manager there will refuse things if you remove the tags. Sad, as I love their clothes and wanted to buy more, but never again. read more

My favorite performance clothing store has a factory store in SF! Love the Kuhl brand, they make function YET fashionable clothes. Wish there pricing was a bit lower (The store doesn't have sales like there would be at REI or sports basement) but you do get what you pay for and their selection of sizes is fantastic. Another disappointment is their absolute terrible return policy. 15 days?! I've purchased lots of pants, sweaters, jackets, etc., from this company and I never have had to return anything until now. I purchased a $350.00 Men's Skyefire Parka in A Large size a year ago, and just before it arrived I had an accident where I broke my leg and am still recovering. During recovery I gained approximately 10 pounds so it no longer fits me. I am familiar with their policies so I didn't think to try exchanging for an XLarge. Even shopping at luxury brand retail locations, I haven't received as outstanding customer service than this location. The sales associate made suggestions and asked questions to help me make the right purchase. As for the clothing, the quality of the products are as good as the service. I love the products and have bought Renegade shorts and they have become my favorite. So i bought 2 pairs of renegade pants after loving the shorts 2 different colors . When i received the pants one pair had a snap for the waist and the other a button. By luck i first wore the khaki color pair .then when i went to ware the koal color ones i discovered the button instead of the snap . I instantly thought there was a problem . Reached out to Kuhl customer service and told them . They said they have mixed inventory now with button and snap at waist. I told them i never even put them on but took the tags off thinking they were all the same. they told me i can only return them for a shipping charge and only with the tags. I explained that i would like ones with the snap as i like ,and i do not think i should have to pay to ship back . I pretty much got no response and i guess that answers my question . Kuhl has been a household brand for the past 10 years of my life. Absolutely love the clothes - they're comfortable, durable, and stylish. The evening before a flight I wanted to get a new pair of pants and called on this location. Even though they closed at 6pm Mike Daly (the GM) was willing to wait until 6:30 for me to come by and pick it up. I ended up purchasing two pairs of pants and a sweatshirt. I gave Mike every chance to go home prior to arriving, but he said he'd be happy to stay. I rarely see this kind of consideration and selflessness anymore. I bought a pair of expensive pants from this company. They fit me properly and after moderate use the top buckle or snap failed. I wore them a few times after that and then the zipper failed. I wrote the company sent them pictures they seemed OK but a little bit pompous on the phone and even cocky . They asked me to send a picture and I did they said that it looked like it was broken because of excessive force which I felt that was rude because it's not true. I'm fit and the pants fit me Anyway after a bunch of run around they wanted me to mail the pants back to them even though they had a picture. And I suspect the reason why they wanted to mail back so they could find something else wrong with those to not warrantee the product I think it's a bunch of crap and horrible customer service when you're paying $100 for a pair of cotton pants. read more

This review is about Stephanie, the assistant manager. I've never owned a long down filled coat before and came into the store asking about the "Spitfire" woman's down coat. She was so great at explaining about the two blacks, which I had found confusing before coming to the store. She made sure the small was correct by suggesting that I try on the extra small. Beware: The Kuhl flannel shirt looks good but the fit is wrong. I always wear a medium button up shirt, but Kuhl is very tight, even the large is tight, shoulders too big. And try to RETURN it. They sent me an email saying they don't have the FUNDS to return the brand new shirt WITH tags still on it. NO Exchanges either. TERRIBLE customer service. I will never buy another $80 Kuhl shirt or any Kuhl product. read more

I had never heard of Kuhl before finding this shop, but I am so happy I did. I was in the market for some items that would make sense for my active lifestyle that would also be ideal for SF weather. The staff was super helpful in understanding my needs without being pushy. I am a pretty independent shopper, and don't like a lot of staff attention when shopping. The sales staff were very genuine, knowledgable, and engaging, without being overbearing. The woman helping me even suggested ways to incorporate Kuhl items with my existing wardrobe!
