I noticed the cool T-shirt designs in the window of this Cow Hollow shop and went in for a gift. Rarely do I find a store that carries T-shirts where I like most all of the graphics. This curated selection of men's t-shirts is a good one, especially if you like vintage art and graphics. Many visuals are old sports teams, but there are some other interesting options as well. Materials are also high quality. I picked up two off friends, and they both love their new shirts. Helpful staff, quick service. read more

Jack's San Francisco - Love the well designed T-shirts here - Men's Clothing Near Me - San Francisco, California

I was just in there wanting to find two different 49ers, shirts for two different kids. The guy who was working was so helpful and showed me which choices I had and grabbed the sizes that I needed. What an easy transaction. Happy I stopped in! read more

My name's Shaun and I have a compulsive disorder.... I'm skeptical about boutiques post-LA, but am beginning to let down my artificial walls and seeing SF style for what it is. Jack's is in the neighborhood and though geared toward a FRatastic crowd I've found some interesting garments. I made the mistake of wearing Yohji Yamamoto instead of Abercrombie so my business was rather scuffed off by the salesperson, but why give one star less because of a peon? Epitome of the neighborhood style, swell job buyers. "My Theory jacket would be a plain bagel, not one with fruits." read more

Great shops for guys in this town are few and far between. Guys with some self-respect that refuse to shop at Banana Republic anyways. Jack's was one of my first finds when I moved to San Francisco three years ago and I have been a loyal customer ever since. There is staff is fun, helpful and unpretentious. The latter quality is a rare find unto itself considering the surrounding neighborhood. Reasons to go to Jack's in a nut shell. 1-Great staff. 2-Diverse selection of quality designer denim. 3-They carry Modern Amusement. 4-Awesome couch. 5-Completely reasonable prices. The last time I shopped there (the Sunday before this review) I heard they were under new ownership which worries me. read more

Whenever I buy anything from them I get compliments when I am on the town so I guess they are a good store.... Went there for clearance and got some good stuff.. read more

Typical metrosexed Marina men's clothing store (yup, stripey shirts and ball-hugging, distressed-to-death denim galore). The saleswomen are friendly, but don't really know what they're talking about. Shit is overpriced, but what do you expect from a store on Chestnut? Keep your eyes peeled for their sales though (up to 50% everything in the store) ... read more

Good selection of Mens clothing, marina style prices. To be honest I liked it more a year or so ago, seems like they had a different buyer with different brands. Villain's Vault has a lot of the brands they used to carry. read more

WAAAAAY back, I bought my first two pairs of 7 jeans here. I won a raffle that gave me a great gift certificate to this place. I'd never really stepped up my clothing game above Nordy's Rack or any other discount place. Then, I found Jacks. I'll admit I'd not frequented this place over the years, but whenever I'm in the hood, I'd stop in. The folks that work here are always helpful and knowledgeable. A good and bad thing...lol This last time I had a great experience. I found some cool new brands and was happy to see that half of the store was 75% off!!! That said, I bought a great shirt on sale from a new brand that was also sustainable. I'm going here again soon to check out the new styles and maybe buy some new denim! read more

Tired of Polo Ralph Lauren frat boy crap? Need a little more funk than your north face jacket has to offer? Or perhaps you grow weary of looking the same and perhaps wish to stand out....Then Jack's on Chestnut is your best bet in the area. I would call it conservative funk, enough to be a differentiator at your next single mingle, herpes triangle adventure, or "socialite" wine party. This could also be your stepping stone into a more sophsitacted sense of fashion if your warddrobe consists of A&F, GAP, BR, Polo, North Face, and the like. They carry great brands like Paul Smith, Ben Sherman, Jon Varvatos and some classics like Penguin. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable and will help you with whatever you need. I come here looking for stuff everytime I am in the area, but perhaps my style is a little to forward. But the cool part is the shop owner gets it and is happy to talk style. Step up your style game, stop dressing like a college kid, and buy some clothes here. read more

My fiance, bought me some jeans for my birthday, they were a little bit too big, so she gave me the receipt and her and I went back to return them and get the right size, it was like pulling teeth very disappointed, will not shop here again, I did not want my money back I just wanted to exchange them for the right size, finally after about 45 minutes after haggling back and forth, I told him I'm just going to stop payment with my fiance's credit card and I walked out disappointed. read more

Needed a Raiders tee shirt to be sent to Boston MA. Jacks had what I needed and on sale. Funny thing is the clerk admitted that 49ers gear really doesn't sell at their store. Thanks for deal on a nicely printed Raiders shirt. Will be back in the near future. read more

These guys are awesome. Since taking over the place they've done a great job at building an inventory of great brands and probably the best selection of high end denim for guys in the City. They really know their stuff and they're just good people. read more

I used to love Jacks.... huge selection of jeans and always something to make you stand out from the crowd. But, it seems to have gone downhill lately. They just dont seem to have the selection they used to. There are a lot of shirts that seem to be similar in style but nothing too unique. I will always call in if I am down on Chestnut, but I hope they can get some new selections soon. read more

Everytime I step into Jack's I end up buying something. While it is a small store they have great gear. I buy all of my jeans from them, literally I haven't bought a pair of jeans anywhere else is 4 years. The staff is always friendly (and attractive in case your were wondering guys), helpful and knowledgable. This place is definatly one of the first places I go when I need some new casual and going out threads. Hit it up. read more

Gotta love this place. In a city domintaed by amazing shopping for women, Jack's helps those people looking for some style. I've been in there countless times but never had I bought something till this weekend. They also do this bad ass 50% off sale twice a year. I strongly recommend getting on their mailing list so you can get the heads up on the sale. It's only one day long and a lot of the good stuff goes quickly. If you're in the Hood this place is worth al ok. Also the ladies that work there aren't bad either. read more

So recently I decided that I needed to add to my wardrobe after burning all my clothing to get rid the things that reminded me of my X. While I do not have an assistant to buy my stuff for me quite yet, I decided that I would just shop for myself. (Attn: Did not really burn all my clothing but I did see the movie the "Aviator" and really wanted to do so after a break up.) The staff is down to earth. We talked about Surfing in Bali and Stencil Art The quality of clothing is nice. I am a big fan of T-shirts that uses soft cotton with nice designs. Overall, your not going to find your whole wardrobe here but you will find something you like and want to keep for a long time. I'll be back here for sure. read more

I go into 'Jack's' every once in a while when I'm visiting friends in the marina and we go to The Grove cafe right next door. It's actually a really nice store , very small, but good selection of just about all types of clothes. T-shirts, interesting jeans, coats, shorts, shoes, suits!! It's like a french patiserrie for mens clothing! I think if they concentrated on just casual fun wear, and added some interesting (i.e. other than macys brand stuff) , they would do much better business. But, it's nice enough stuff, so check it out but have a back up plan----grab a beer or a latte next door! read more

No refunds under any circumstances, only returns for store credit. Shocked that anyone in that line of business has that kind of policy, but hey it worked on me, now I'm out the cash. Wish I had noticed the sign, but I didn't. Would have been nice if the message was communicated a little more clearly or proactively. Especially since I was clearly wavering about one of the purchases at time of sale. Bottom line, not the way I would run a business or handle my customers, but to each their own. read more

Used to be a big fan but will never buy from this store ever again. Probably spent over $1,500 over the past few years buying bamboo tees and other items. Then I tried to return a $50 pair of sweat shorts that tore at the tag and the manager said too bad! Well now Mr. Jacks -you just lost a loyal customer over $50 measly bucks. Btw- stopped immediately in Marine Layer and spent $250 on shirts read more

All the men's fashion you'll ever need, right in one store. I suppose some of their merchandise can be a little bit pricey, but that's what sales are for (make sure to sign up for their mailing list). Cool brands like Modern Amusement, True Religion, Ted Baker and Chip & Pepper will keep me coming back for more. read more

Alright, the fact that I had to take a moment to collect myself before writing this review should give you an idea of how truly bad ass this clothing store is. From theory to modern amusement I have yet to find a single article of clothing I did not want to purchase (which can be problematic for the shopoholics of the world). I recommend this store to anyone who ready to see themselves in a new way... So put down the Abercrombie and Fitch catalog and try something new! read more

Great men's clothes options. Tons of jeans, cool tees, cool zip-up sweatshirts, super friendly staff. Definitely a spot that's great to find a sale at! read more

Great sf vintage shirts, the prices are a little high $40 dollars for a t-shirt but as a guy you are always going to pay high prices for good clothes that's just how it is. My favorite t-shirt right now is my San Francisco Warriors which I found here in Jack's, should had bought two! read more

My prev. review got removed so I repost it: My wife bought me a pair of jeans as a present. Didn't work out for me so I wanted to return the jeans and have our money back. Owner refused to return my money even though they know me well as I live right around the corner and have bought many jeans in there. The small stores complain about the competition from the department stores My advise would be: You need to compete on service as you can't compete on price which means offering at least the same service. read more

This place would be 5 star material if it weren't for the prices. That said, Jacks always has something different, which is good, when everyone in the area is in "striped shirt" uniform. Also, if you can catch a sale, you can get some phenomenal deals. I picked up 2 pairs of shoes, and two sweaters for $200 (off sale, it would have been more than double that). The staff is very friendly and give honest opinions about what looks good (they don't seem out just to sell you the most expensive stuff in the store). read more

A great place to pick up clothes to make your boyfriend dress as trendy and cute as you.

I go here for my izod shirts. great selection of colors, and they always have my small size (4).

I'm a women but thank god!!! there are 0 men's clothing stores compared to woman's on chestnut and union. And the selection of merchandise is great. Marc by marc, obay......good stuff and we need to see some better gear walking the streets of the marina. Guys, stop in and pick up some sweet collections for your closet. read more

for a men's store, this place is the best combo of killer clothes and denim...They have the best brands, eclectic and hip like Ed Hardy, Toschi shoes, Ben Sherman, True Religion, Modern Amusement, Original Penguin and The List goes on.....I would shop for my man here any day of the week. Boys...you want some ladies crawlin all over your SH** then shop at jacks... read more

Great selection of clothes you probably won't find at most stores. They also carry large sizes and it is nice having some choices buying clothes in XXL that aren't made for old men. Prices are high, but all the clothes are from decent designers. Wait for the sales, as they recently had their 50% off sale and I picked up some nice stuff at a decent price. Check this store out if you want high quality duds, but expect to pay for them. read more

I come from Manhattan to shop at this hip, boutique men's clothing store. Owner has a great eye for stocking the right items for sharp look, so you don't waste your time trawling through racks. Owner and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful--they work to find the right fit for jeans. T-shirts are great! read more

Its a good enough store. On the "denim" side I think most of the clothes they have are for people that are trying to be a bit too cool. A lot of the clothes are the kind of items you see and think "oh yea, thats cool" so you buy it. You wear it and then about 3 months later you think to yourself... "what was I thinking." Thats not to say you won't find some good items, you just have to filter through the "I'm trying too hard" items. read more

Great fitting mens clothes. I have purchased my last 3 pairs of jeans at Jakes. For some reason, jakes carries the best quality and fitting jeans. The sales associate today was beautiful. Always an inventive! Can't wait to pick up my tailored jeans tomorrow :-) read more

This place is the cutest boutique what it lacks in store size it makes up for in great selection. The have a great staff that is very attentive and always willing to help. I bought a few shirts here and whenever I am by there I try to stop in. read more

This is a cool shop- get a collection of Theory and Izod here. I like the shop for the tees. Fine material and prices that are ok.

I'm new to San Francisco and I heard about this place from a friend's suggestion. When I first entered, I thought that it was a touch small, but what it lacks in space, it made up for in quality. I don't much like sorting through racks of stuff that I don't like, but here the hardest part was deciding what I had to leave in the store. The sales person (who's name I've forgot - sorry!) was incredible and I loved her suggestions. Thanks a lot guys! I loved the one-on-one attention. read more

Jack's has a really good selection of stuff, especially dress shirts and jeans. Also I'd have to say the customer service is awesome. Free hemming on jeans is a plus too. One of the better shops on chestnut and marina area for guys looking for some new threads. Last time I bought something I got a free pair of socks too. Always love a freebie. read more

I have been all over the city looking for a place that I can find great clothing and I have finally found it. Jacks is completely unique in their styles and the staff is all helpful and willing to let you know what looks good and what doesn't. Great styles, great brands, great staff...I love this place. Not to mention I heard the Jane store (across the street) aint that bad either!! read more

clothes are what you would expect the average person in the marina to wear...pricey just like the marina...some cool stuff comes in, but nothing thats too exciting...good place to go for base clothing: jeans sweaters etc...and the girls that work there are way hot... I just stopped into Jack's in the Marina. I've seen this place while walking around on Chestnut Street before. It seemed like a cool store, so I decided to peek in to check out their assortment. I have to admit, they had AWESOME clothes for guys but the service was so hideous, I will never go back...or recommend it to anyone. First off, the one and only guy working there didn't even greet me. Then he sneezed and I said 'bless you.' And after searching through several piles of jeans, he didn't even bother asking me if I needed any help finding a size or that they perhaps had more in the back. Seriously, for probably getting 1 customer per 2 hour window, this guy was not at all desperate to sell anything. Not sure how this place survives the high rent. They offer a great selection of Theory, Marc Jacobs, Ted Baker, Vince, mens denim including Seven, 1921, Earnest Sewn, and True Religion. I'm a big stickler for good customer service, so Jack's gets a thumbs down from me. If you're tempted by all the brands, beware that most sizes are XL and Bloomingdale's carries most of what I saw. read more
