Recommend arriving at opening if you want to sell and avoid longer queues. Arrived right at opening on a Sunday and there was one other person ahead. Fill out you info on a tablet to the left when you come in and they will call your name or text you when it's your turn. Had about two bags and it took about 15 min for then to go through it. Shopped around the store while waiting. Smaller than Market St but has a solid selection. I personally didn't get anything but someone else in my group did. Also was able to make a couple successful sales! Recommended credit over cash as you get more selling value.

I'm super excited to rep the t-shirts especially the prints from Jeremy Fish, the raddest illustrator around. Wrong items and taking far longer than promised with nobody reaching out to the customer (me). So I decided I'll stop by when the SF store is open and grab stuff myself. Other customers are asking me if you are going to be open today. I am a long time customer. Great products. Your customer service is shit. I love the style upper playground provides. But I can't rep you bc you won't deliver the correct product promptly or hire employees that, seemingly, can't roll out of bed. Disappointed. You've lost my business.

There's something incredibly approachable about the brand. It strikes a balance between vintage-inspired California Americana and modern everyday wear that's both distinctive and easy to incorporate into your wardrobe at a compelling value. I first dipped my toes in a few months ago with one of their Field-Spec white tees, and it's easily become my favorite T-shirt. That alone was enough to bring me back. This visit turned into a much longer, guided shopping experience with Ryan, who was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. On my first visit, I believe Adriana helped me, and the service was just as excellent then. It's clear the team genuinely enjoys helping customers find the right pieces rather than simply making a sale. I spent a good amount of time exploring both floors, trying on several items, including a few pieces that are no longer available online, and ultimately walked out with one of their California Oxfords. Overall, another fantastic experience. Buck Mason will be a must-stop for whenever I'm in Hayes Valley, whether I'm picking up another wardrobe staple or just stopping in to say hello.

* Marine Layer is my least favorite store in Hayes Valley…read more * I gravitate toward Scandi minimalism - understated, intentional, and never overworked. The overall aesthetic at Marine Layer is the opposite (Southern California colorful beach day bordering on lounge wear style). This is just a personal style preference of course. * Having said that, I did find a striped shirt for a vacation that seemed promising - 50% cotton/ TENCEL blend that was lightweight and comfortable. In reality it lacks structure, creases excessively even after steaming. Instead of the crisp, effortless drape you'd expect from a summer shirt it felt limp and unfinished. If I were to compare it to other brands it would be between Forever 21 and Old Navy quality. Not recommended.

This store: 1 star Corporate: 5 stars…read more I bought a pair of their jeans from Bloomingdale's and they developed a small hole. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal at all to take them into the store for repair since Bloomingdale's closed. The guy who waited on me with complete disdain told me that he couldn't get them repaired because they were "too old" after I handed him a copy of my receipt. I said that I had reviewed their website and there was no time limit. The jeans were about 2.5 years old. He refused to take them and said I'd have to contact corporate for assistance because those were the "guidelines received from corporate." Honestly, how big of a deal is it to repair a hole that is the size of a dime? These jeans are not cheap. He was just being obstinate. I did contact corporate, send them photos as per their request, and they promptly gave me a store credit equaling the price I paid. I sent the jeans back to them. I wasted so much time and effort trying to get the store to assist me. Never again. My brand new jeans arrived from corporate and they are perfect.

I've always liked their style--it's so similar with a lot of the other shops in Pacific Heights, but Monday was really disappointing. The moment we walked in, a salesperson immediately asked if we were looking for something specific. Fair enough, but then he proceeded to shadow us through the store, commenting on nearly everything we glanced at--"Oh, the Miramar collection is to die for," and so on. It felt less like helpful attention and more like being watched. As we were about to leave, yet another salesperson asked if we needed anything. There were about five employees in this relatively small space on a quiet Monday, and the overly intense presence honestly made us uncomfortable. It felt like overkill. We left without buying or trying on anything, and to be honest, I'd rather shop online than deal with that kind of pressure again.

Tucked away on the unassuming corner of Lexington and 18th, lies a treasure trove of threads by some of the most interesting (and arguably the best) emerging labels on the scene. From Henrik Vibskov (my fave) to Reality Studio, Rodejeber to Rachel Comey, and home goods from around the world, they've managed to get their selection just right for both men and women, yet many of the pieces are completely interchangeable and unisex. I adore their aesthetic and love that they take merchandising risks in buying pieces from collections that wouldn't be seen anywhere outside of New York. I think the best thing about the store is that the owners, Andrew and Mark still manage to keep the space accessible for everyone with their laid back demeanor and warm, welcoming, and beautifully appointed space. It's as if their other store, Aggregate Supply had an older sibling who went off to study at Central St. Martins, but still kept it real and low key with their peeps at home. Also worth noting that they price slightly below suggested retail for many of the collections they stock and have awesome sales at the end of each season. Definitely worth a visit or ten!
