They're all over the world and you can watch the documentary about it and fast fashion. There isn't actually a "Brandy". This store has young women working who need something to do and don't want to actually work. They ask to check your bag even if it's filled with library books. I would give this store -5/5 if I could. We were in town all the way from Omaha, and my young daughter was so excited to go to a standalone Brandy Melville store for the first time. That quickly changed when we arrived and saw the line, which ended up taking 63 minutes. While waiting in line, we learned that A) there are no longer fitting rooms, so you just have to guess how the clothing will look on you, and B) you can only exchange items, which would mean waiting in line again. Yay! Once inside, I told my daughter it would be fine to try on a cardigan over her shirt, only to be told by an employee that she can't try on anything over her clothes. The employee said "I know it's a pain in the butt, but I have to say it." That was the most humane interaction we had. Despite restricting the number of patrons, the store was extremely crowded. Like being-on-an-NYC-subway-car-during-rush-hour crowded. I can only imagine how horrified any plus-sized or physically disabled people must feel in this location, which probably explains why we didn't see any plus-sized or visibly physically disabled people there. It broke my heart to see my daughter's excitement grow into anger and disgust during this experience, while noticing many of the young employees simply standing around on their phones and cussing as though it was a social hour. As we waited in another line to check out with a few items, I was ready to politely let the cashier named Sophia know about our frustrations, but when she asked "did you find everything OK?" and I said, "no, we didn't," all she said was the most unenthusiastically monotone "oh man I'm sorry to hear that" without asking why and continued folding our clothes. To echo some other reviews, the customer service here was not only non-existent, but it was aggressively rude and uncaring. Shame on Brandy Melville as a company to create this disgusting and discriminatory culture. I went here right before closing time some time in December of this year.(I can't remember the date lol) But I was rushing there because of traffic, I felt kind of embarrassed because I walked in 10 minutes before they closed. It was almost as if we were burdening them from their social hour. This Brandy Melville is a lot better than the one on Santana Row in San Jose. That one is so crowded and they take a long time to ring you up. We went on a Sunday before lunch and there were people but hardly crowded. I am way above the age range for their target audience but I love their white tank tops. I bought two of them as basics. People complain about the service, but they're known to not be super friendly. Having said that, this BM is friendlier than many others! Cost is mid-range. I rarely write reviews but this one felt necessary. I just walked in on a Thursday at 2pm to multiple of the brandy workers just talking, including many cuss words (f word and b word) multiple times. A dad in there and I kept making eye contact and both eventually left. The girls were talking about med school, grades, and being insanely unprofessional. This is actually a nice walk from Fisherman's Wharf with lots of other cool shops, restaurants and a bookstore. We were there on a weekday. It was super busy. The store space it's full with clothes everywhere which is nice but at the same time it's not enough space to walk through it. It is very crowded with clothes everywhere and people trying to squeeze in and out. Employees seem to be overwhelmed. I believe we came in when they were getting their deliveries. The girls were working hard with the little space they have. I've been shopping here for 10 years, even when half the merchandise doesn't fit me because no other brand can seem to figure out how to do relaxed cotton knitwear at a mid-price point. The prices are fair. Quality is above average. I've never had issues with holes or piling in the wash. She would push us out of the way, ignore us when WE would say excuse me, and was overall rude and entitled.
