Finally made it into a Sézane store after years of ordering from Paris--and I'll admit, there was something special about those packages arriving from abroad. But it often came with the hassle of returns and exchanges, so getting to shop in person felt like a win. The moment I walked in, I recognized that signature Sézane fragrance--it instantly took me back to opening those boxes at home. The space itself is beautiful, and the newest collection was thoughtfully displayed, making it easy to browse and get inspired. Service was great--friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The only reason I'm knocking off a star is the limited selection on the floor. They do have more inventory in the back, but you kind of have to know what you're looking for to ask. It's not as browse-friendly as I'd hoped. Overall though, a really lovely experience. Definitely nice to finally connect the online shopping habit with the in-store vibe. read more

I've given this store multiple chances. I'm done after today. Stuff is not friendly. To get a size takes 10-15 minutes. And most importantly they have very limited selection that consists of basic pieces and maybe one-two from an ongoing collection. They never have sizes above 40 unless it's super basic stuff. I am a loyal customer of theirs and buy lots of clothing from this company but never again will I come to the specific store. Horrible horrible service! I gave this location another try, and I find the associates very unwelcoming to the point that I'd rather order online than shop in person again. I've been to several of the locations in Paris, and for a city that is not customer service focused by "American" standards, I still found the associates there to be friendlier than the women that work at this location. read more

The ladies here are nice always pleasant to interact with and helpful. Its a small Sezane store but love going here. If u need any size while at the fitting room they are always there to get it for you. Everyone is ready to help though it gets busy on saturday i noticed. My friend and I had a great experience at this store. Usually I feel a little self conscious going into a store with pricey items due to being black and stereotyped, but they were super chill. We were greeted, the employee at the sweater wall gave us sweaters to try, informed us on washing instructions, and told us about different colors and sizes available online. The sales associates here were so helpful. It was fairly busy when I came in and they were all on top of it when customers were asking for sizes. I saw one girl going back and forth between the stock room and fitting room the entire time I was there. Every single person in the store was being helped. Paris came to SF and that saves me from jet lag. Sezane--bien sur +'s: + Design is understated elegance and it works for ages 20s and on! I don't do minis anymore and find suitable options for my age + Quality and value. I get pieces that hold up. Trousers for $150+ have great stitching and fabric choice. Wool scarves start at $100+ and they are long and wide. + Service. Dressing rooms can get tight but the staff make it easy for me to exchange sizes and weigh in on fit when I ask them. I trust their thoughts because they know the designs. + Great accessories. Meander to the back and find selections on scarves, handbags, shoes, and jewelry. Skip the trip -'s: - Selection is limited. Go online if you want more variety. Note they will still charge you SF tax at checkout even if it may ship from France. - Gets crowded in the boutique. So happy that Sézane opened up their pop up shop on Fillmore St! They are set to open up until January 8th. It is super spacious inside and I love the items that they have curated and showcased in their pop up shop. One thing to note is that they do not have all their items in stock as they are a pop up so it's important to do your research on the website on what you like and want to get. For additional sizes you can ask the staff to see if they have them in stock in the back. If they do not have the item in store, you can order it in store and they will express ship it to you at no added cost. Another thing to note is that they are credit card only (at least when I was there) and they do not do exchanges or gift receipts. Their style is definitely more casual chic and there's a lot of very earthy colors like copper, brown, white, and green. read more

Visited sézane on a Sunday afternoon about a week after opening. There was a line to get in that stretched just past the neighbor's door when we arrived and it was about a 30 minute wait to get in. The store is just as gorgeous as it's others in Paris and London. The customer service is fantastic. The staff go above and beyond to help you get sizes,colors etc. Of whatever you are looking for. If they don't have what you want in store, they can have it ordered and shipped to you. They carry eau sézane which is my absolute favorite fragrance and you cannot purchase it online. I stocked up and was so happy they had the limited edition bottles available. I was so excited my purchase included a lovely reusable tote! I will definitely pay them another visit before the pop up ends in January. read more

This gorgeous pop up is looking more like a stay up! Brining Parisian femininity to SF. I have three dresses and one shirt from here. Now another silk Chloe shirt and a chambray Chloe shirt. I'm currently between two sizes of the belt. Slightly dangerous for my budget, but the side of feeling flirty and pretty is long overdue after three grueling years in scrubs as an essential healthcare worker. The store itself is nice, but the shopping experience is far from it. Every time I come in, they never have what I'm looking for in stock. It feels like this location gets ignored when it comes to receiving the good merchandise--I've been to the LA and New York stores, and they are much better stocked. The customer service is also seriously lacking. The manager never looks happy to help customers--she has a constant RBF and gives off the vibe that she'd rather be anywhere else. The staff overall seems unmotivated, and getting assistance feels like an inconvenience to them. If you're lucky enough to find something in stock, be prepared for a chaotic and disorganized experience. The employees take forever to check for sizes, and even then, they usually can't find what you need. For a brand that markets itself as elevated and curated, this location completely misses the mark. I love Sézane's style, but shopping here is more frustrating than it's worth. You're better off ordering online or visiting another location. read more

Sézane is one of my favorite Parisian-based brands, and I was ecstatic to find out that they'd have a pop-up in San Francisco until the end of December 2022. I attended the VIP grand opening party a few weeks ago and had the most incredible experience. The store itself is as beautiful and feminine as the Sézane locations in New York City and Paris, and included many items and sizes from the Fall collection. Most of my wardrobe is from Sézane and ordered online, so it was nice to try the clothes on in person, feel the fabrics, and take my time browsing through the selection. Since I attended the VIP party, I enjoyed gifts and delicious French treats while I shopped. I hope that Sézane will find a permanent home in San Francisco someday. read more

Very small store. Not a lot of selection like they have online. They have a few fitting rooms so try to visit when there are no long lines. Go early. Call ahead to make sure they have the size you want or the product physically in-stock and see if they can hold it especially shoes (Sezane doesn't offer 'wide'. If you have wide feet, Sezane shoes may pinch the top of your foot). The store doesn't have a huge selection, but since I was there, I tried the clothes on to figure out my best size number (e.g. Sezane french size 42 is Size 10 in United States) so I can order on the Sezane website. I've been online shopping with Sezane for awhile. If you're 5'4", 152 lbs, 36b -- the French 42 size (US size 10) in Sezane tops will fit. 40 is too small and 44 is too big....As for knit sweaters, it depends on the fit -- if you're looking for the perfect fit in knits, get size Small. If you're wanting a loose fit, Medium will work....Sezane size varies. Mariniere blouse -- Medium fits but if want comfortable or loose style, get Large and you can take it to your tailor if need be.... If you get a Cybele top, the Medium fits perfect.... Should you get a Malcolm shirt in Medium it will fit, but it will be snug. Parking - Park in the Japantown center underground parking lot and when you come out, immediately start walking toward Fillmore Street and just walk to Sezane from there. (If you take the other streets, you may run the risk of a steep uphill walk depending on the street you take.) Fillmore Street is a more comfortable stroll. It's about a 15 minute walk to the store from the parking lot. read more

I went for the grand opening and was really pleased (though my wallet was not) with the experience. The store was limiting the number of guests that could go in, so the line outside grew, with curious passersby asking what we were all waiting for. The line did take a while, but after 45 minutes, I was determined to get in! While we waited, complimentary pastries and coffee were offered by friendly Sézane staff who really went above and beyond. When I finally entered, the store was tidy and welcoming. The staff were all really helpful and had no trouble answering questions or checking the back for additional colors, sizes, etc. I took the two sweaters I had had my eyes on to the register, and the cashier was very friendly. I initially tried to call to find out if they a had a certain item in stock so as not to make the far drive. There is no number listed anywhere online. I arrived at the store, did not find the item on the floor so I thought Id ask if maybe they had it in the back. I could not get anyone to help me. There seemed to only be two sales assistants and they were both at the register. I stood around for a while waiting for someone. This is on a Saturday which I assume is their busiest day. I contemplated getting in the long line to ask if they had the item but I decided to look at some other boutiques and come back. When I came back it was the same situation. Love the store - absolutely stunning - and the selection of clothing and accessories. Beautiful, well made and well priced. The store is heavily over staffed. Unfortunately there is a lot of variability in the ability of the staff. The two hosts at the entrance are warm and welcoming. Not sure why two are needed though. There are three people at the register. Only two are competent. The third defers to one of the other two for every question and barely speaks, smiles or acknowledges you - not meant for a customer facing role!! The change rooms are poorly staffed. The one person there is very green and not adept at helping customers. This was a weekend morning so prime time for shopping. A big issue is the sheerness of the drapes in the change rooms. They don't close all the way and are see through. There is a constant shuffle of customers trying clothing including MEN accompanying wives, female friends etc (it's a womens store). They really need to sit and wait outside the change area. Ladies: be prepared to see and be seen while trying things on! Overall, this place needs to figure out their staffing issues - and fast! Comparable stores in the area have 1-2 people working the entire space and very adeptly. Other than that definitely worth a stop in for some Parisian chic clothing and accessories. read more

Honestly I think the line vs the speed they let ppl in is ridiculous. We are used to waiting 40 minutes + or an hour for restaurants, but waiting for 2 hours to let 20 ppl in? Either they're extremely disorganized or they want their shop to seem popular by purposely making ppl wait outside to form a line. Incredibly rude staff didn't say a word to me when I walked. Horrible selection compared to online, why even have the physical store.

I've been here twice and it's a lovely little aesthetic store. Quick note: They do not have a lot of items, mainly just popular knitwear and in-season clothing items. Both times when I walked into the store, the workers seemed nice but the quality of their service was not so nice. First time I went, I asked the worker if they had a specific jumper and she said "idk" and looked away. She never proceeded to check or ask anyone to see if the item was in stock. I was stunned so I left because I felt ignored and didn't want to waste my time getting upset. I went back 2 days later giving them the benefit of the doubt because everyone has off days. When I walked into the store, I waited in front of one worker to get help and she acknowledged I was there then started to help people who entered the store after me. You know... maybe I wasn't upfront about needing help so I let it slide. After she was finished with them, I asked if she can find me a cardigan in a specific size and she hands me the one next to her and turns her attention to another guest. I said thank you and walked away, but then started noticing so much hair entangled within the knit fabric. I understand if one hair strand accidentally gets caught from people trying it on, but to find almost 20 hair strands in this white cardigan was pretty disgusting. You would think that a distinguished store would quality check their items before handing them to customers. I look over at her and she's helping other guests, but when other people ask to check if they have an item in stock, she looked carefully through all the cabinets. So I went back and asked if she had an unused version of the cardigan. She told me she didn't know and would get back to me. It took her 15 minutes to get back to me. I felt ignored and embarrassed during what should have been a fun day. With that being said, it seems like she was giving quality service to other people so maybe my face haunted her. Even if my experience was 2 stars, I'm sure someone else's can be a 5, but for me, I will just stick to their online store next time. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could but Acari, ( I believe her name is ) earned the star. I went into this beautiful store looking to update my wardrobe, and I love what this store has to offer . I walk in and not one person acknowledges me . I walk around for about 10 minutes and still not one person speaks . Mind you, I'm the only customer in the store. There are two associates behind the register, one person walking around fixing things , and one employee literally standing right next to me folding a sweater, so is no reason why someone didn't offer to help me. Now, I could see the lack of acknowledgement if the store was crowded , but like I said before , I was the only one there . As I did my last loop around the store hoping to get some type of assistance, Acari comes out from the back and ask me if I needed anything. By that time I was over it and did not want anything to do with the store . It's unfortunate because I saw some really beautiful pieces I wanted. Oh well! read more

I recently discovered Sezane while in the city. Their selection of beautiful cardigans were exactly what I had been trying to find for quite awhile. It was hard to make a choice. The sales associates at the front of the store, as well as back by the dressing rooms were completely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Such a classy store and great find. read more

Disappointed with Fillmore St Store TLDR: Don't go on a weekend and be prepared for items to be out of stock. The experience at the SF Fillmore store hurts their brand in my opinion I went to the Fillmore Street location on Saturday and after years of admiring their clothes online, I was unfortunately disappointed in the in-store experience, especially given their high prices. The store was packed and it seemed like staff was a bit overextended, though everyone I spoke with was happy to help me. They were out of stock in S/M for many of the items I wanted to try on. After waiting 10 minutes for a dressing room, I ended up trying on larges and guessing at whether I would be a small, medium. I requested a different size on one item from the attendant and it took a very long time. At one point I gave up and walked out of the dressing room to get another size myself- the item was up front by the door and multiple staff members quickly turned their heads as I think they thought I was attempting the steal the item I was wearing. When I finally selected two items and went to checkout- I was told one was entirely sold out in my size, the other was sold out in store and had to be shipped. LASTLY, I received the $140 sweater that was being shipped to me today. There are weird "hay" looking things all over the back that aren't seeming to come out easily. I'll need to use tweezers to remove all of it, further damaging the fibers of the sweater. NOT what my experience should be for $140 read more
