I signed the contract and sent in a deposit. After that it was such a struggle to get him or his office manager, Julie, to return my calls. After weeks of repeated emails and messages being left at JW Roofing, I was finally able to get them to come out after I said I would like my deposit returned. Fast forward to this year's first rain, and the same areas are still leaking. Again...I am leaving emails and phone messages with no response. I had an excellent experience with JW Roofing. I had several quotes to re-roof my home before I was referred to JW Roofing. I had my initial meeting with Brian and found him to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I also spoke to the owner, Warren, who answered many of my questions and addressed my concerns. I then spoke to a couple of their recent customers and heard great feedback - not only on the quality of their work but also on their customer service. Their pricing was very competitive and as a preferred GAF contractor, the warranties are extended. The project went well and was actually a little cheaper than expected (we thought we had skip sheathing on the entire roof, but one section of the roof already had plywood, so that lowered the wood sheathing cost). Their customer service was great - Brian helped coordinate the replacement of my old acrylic skylights with new Velux skylights and also installation of new rain gutters. Everything looks great! Long overdue review. On Nov 2014, certain parts of our roof started to have signs of leakage (signs for the 1980s felt paper to retire) but the tilts are in good condition. I did some research and had proposals from 5 roofing companies. The whole process, from permit, inspection to finish, was done seamlessly yet professionally within a week! Since our tiles have been discontinued, they went above and beyond to find the best possible match for replacement. They also checked and repaired roof sheathing for structure soundness plus now I have 4 attic vents to help keep the house cooler in summer! Warren is amazing! We have only lived in our house for 2 years and I noticed the area above our garage was leaking after the last winter rain storm. I asked the previous owner if she had the contact info for the people who did the roof; when we bought the house she said the roof had just been changed recently. I called Warren to ask about the warranty on the roof since the previous owner had used them. Well long story short...he sent his guys out to take a look at it next business day and was fixed free of charge! Warren is professional and most important...an HONEST business man. He could have charged me or denied the warranty, etc but he didn't. My wife and I spent a number of months looking into a new roof for our house. We finally decided to go with Warren Cross and his crew from JW Roofing. He was great in explaining all our options and encouraged us to look into different types of roofs and talk to other roofers to get as much information as possible. Warren answered any questions we had while we were making our decision even before we had committed to hiring him. He is extremely experienced and knowledgable about roofing and is happy to impart any wisdom he has if your interested. Ultimately we decided to go with a Stone-Coated Steel roof, we chose Metro Shake tiles, Western Wood was the color, I believe. Metal roofing is definitely more expensive but after looking into all the options, the benefits made the investment worth it. I encourage people to at least investigate metal roofing for their homes when making a decision. It looks incredible, is energy efficient, lasts much longer than asphalt or clay tiles, and is completely fire and wind resistant. Warren's demo crew showed up on a Friday morning in late July (extremely hot) and worked a good 12 hours to make sure the old roof was completely removed and the exterior of house was as clean as could be expected after such a dirty job. We had 3 layers of old roof, 2 layers of asphalt tile sandwiched around a layer of wood shake, it was messy. They tarped the whole roof just in case we had any rain and were back the next day, a Saturday. The crew, led by Armando who was great, extremely talented and experienced working with metal roofing, were back on Saturday to fix any boards and paper the house and recovered it. Monday morning started the installation of the new roof once the inspector signed off and they worked the next 3 days to finish up. The whole crew was courteous and hard working. Any questions I had, Armando was more than happy to answer them and Warren was available by phone and checked in throughout the job. They finished on a Wednesday. 5 days and the roof was done. I have called with a couple of minor fixes, small scuffs on some tiles and they have been taken care of immediately and with absolutely no hesitation. A new roof is a big decision and not a cheap one, we wanted someone who was going to do the highest quality work possible and not try and give us the run-around, so to speak. His company installed new roofs on my three properties starting in 2014. They recently completed a roof on my principal residence in August 2021. After receiving 4 bids and interviewing other roofers, I found Warren's thorough explanation, patience, and fair price to be factors in selecting him. He was willing to spend a lot of time with me explaining every step of the process. He was obviously experienced, but also demonstrated a straight-forward approach to the work from start to finish. I trusted him and found his no-nonsense approach to be reassuring. In 2014, he helped me negotiate with a large insurance company after my two rental houses sustained extensive roof damage from a storm. Initially, the insurance company refused to provide me with an adequate settlement amount, but with Warren's intervention, they finally came around. His company installed a metal roof on one of my houses. I didn't know about the option of a metal roof at that time, but it was the perfect alternative. His workers did an excellent job. They were easy to work with, respectful, and cleaned up at the end of the day. JW Roofing took 2.5 days to complete the work on my 1667 square foot house and two-car attached garage. They completely removed the old roof and installed GAF shingles and provided me with a warranty. When I had a couple of questions and requests, the head roofer stopped what he was doing and took the time to address my requests. He was polite and attentive. 60 yrs. of experience, he advertised does not match with his actions. Warren Cross came out for a quote for my roof in June 2021. I called him early July, he said he would send me a quote ASAP. As of to date, 10/2021, he has not provided a quote. Warren Cross is a president of JW Roofing Services according to his business card. And he advertised in Chinese Yellow page as well. I can tell just by how he is handling / providing quote matter, just ignored. Business has not start yet, contract has not signed yet, I can imagine the money is already paid and contract has already signed OR might need after service. IGNORED. Based on my experience with Warren Cross, JW roofing services is not a reliable roofing company to deal with. How many time the property owners have chance to replace an entire roof? They installed a roof 1 1/2 ago, it started to leak it took them 2 weeks to get back to me, came out did some spotty repairs and blamed it on the painters. In the end they did not inspect the sub base and it caused the roof to fail. I was never given the option to repair the the sub base. Seems with all their experience they claimed to have it did not help me, his solution was to charge me again for their failure to inspect properly and the roofs failure buyer beware ! read more

I called JW Roofing today to take care of a minor roof repair for one of my client, who just bought a house here in Walnut. A lady answered right away and took down my number to say someone will contact me this afternoon to come check it out. Sure enough, Brian called around 3pm to say he is in the area. 30 minutes later he calls back to say a few pieces of the tile roof just needs to be pushed back in place and the rest of the roof looks good to him. Asked him any broken or cracked tiles and told me someone might have just maintained it the last 6 months so it's in real good shape. I asked him how much I owe him, and was told this is really minor so he wouldn't even bother charging me anything. Can you believe it?! Just remind them to make sure the permit gets finaled with the City. I just completed a roof replacement on a four unit apartment building. It was mostly a flat roof, but also had shingles around the front and sides and a chimney to work around. This company sent six skilled and fast working men, plus a supervisor who ordered materials. They used top quality materials and the installation was done following the manufacturers instructions. The crew thoroughly cleaned the jobsite after every day. The company owner made sure I was happy with every aspect of the project. We just had our home's roof replaced - both the tiles and part of the wood which had been destroyed by termites. This is never a pleasurable undertaking, especially as expensive and intrusive replacing a roof can be. JW Roofing re-roofed our condo complex in 2012. The real test is when you get a water leak a few years later. The heavy rain in Dec. 2014 revealed a couple water leaks so we called JW Roofing. Warren Cross responded quickly and sent a team to check us out. They were tremendous!! The leaks turned out to be a siding problem, which they fixed for a reasonable fee. Several rains later has confirmed the problem was analyzed correctly. The service was quick and the testing thorough. Further referrals they offered for repair specialist in related areas also proved excellent.
