When I think of Justine, I always think of Theodore Huxtable from the Cosby Show "Justine! Justine! Ba da da ba ba ba ba da da ba da da boom" great episode! Now I will think of Providence RI! A great speak easy with truly crafted cocktails that are easy on the palate and wallet! I got the Sunny Days - Amazing!!

Such a cool place! Would've been one of my go to dive bars in Providence if not for the location. Stumbled upon this place on a Friday night after exploring few other places. I was also skeptical since most of the reviews seemed like they were from couple of years ago. The entrance is sort of speakeasy styled, and you do go through velvet curtains into a semi dim lit room. There are some tables around the bar and few couch seats otherwise, so not a huge space. The prices of their standard cocktails have gone up to 7$ which is still pretty good and the speciality ones are for 10$. Rose, the bartender was amazing and did a great job! They do have few finger foods on their menu if you're craving a little snack. The decor is simplistic yet modern and pretty well done. It wasn't packed when I went in but people came in groups and waves and wasn't loud or anything. Overall definitely a cool place that you must check out in Providence if nearby; it is a little away from other places and parking is limited. Overall 4.5 stars.

Great speakeasy experience tucked away in a small shabby building. This place is hard to find and is by all means a real speakeasy. On entering a dingy lingerie shop, yes lingerie store you'll find an attendant who stares at you like what the heck are you doing here.. and then opens the curtains behind to let you in to the bar..Decent ambience ; dark, I may call it perfectly intimate for my liking. Drinks are wonderful for 7-11 $. I am into whiskeys so I had the Bourbon, Manhattan and the suburban.I was pleasantly surprised they were all good. The place has a very speakeasy kinda vibe and because of its stealth location you are not going to find crazies and binge drinkers. It's people who like to enjoy great cocktails and conversations. The bartenders are friendly and willingly explain the ingredients of the cocktail which is rare. The owner also owns magdalene room in Providence so he really knows what he's doing.

A magical hidden speak-easy with a lingerie front and bouncer, opening its curtains to a vintage decorated, budget-friendly elusive niche. Pros: Cheap drinks, strong drinks, vintage vibe, comfy chairs, speak-easy sleekness, not over-crowded Cons: Drinks are small (probably why so strong), street parking, can be tricky to find What we ordered: We loved Manhattan and the Mary, both surprisingly strong for their $7 cost. Manhattan had the perfect tang to it and the Mary was delicately sweet. Two drinks of each and we were delightfully content. Ambience: Floral wallpaper and classy, yet causal, waitresses are perfect. Blue velvet couches are quite comfortable. With bar stools available as well. Prices: $7 cocktails. Enough said. Can't wait to be back :)

Made a trip to Justines. A very eclectic bar to say the least. But they try too hard to be different. Good for one trip. Not two

    Is dinner served?

    Just cocktails.

Is this place ok for older 50-60 people or is it a young crowd? How busy is it in Saturday nights?

It's a relaxed atmosphere. You'll feel as visible or invisible as you like. Busy Saturday? That can be hit or miss.

Is this place still open? Been there once but can't tell if it's still open!

Yes, we were there on Nov 2nd

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

THE FOOD -We ordered the dip trio, each of them was delicious, my favorite was the lemon hummus. -the ratio of chips to dip was not good and when we asked for more chips it was a $5 charge we weren't told about. Since it took a bit to get the second round of chips we had to leave most of them and the dip to get to our show on time which was a bummer. THE DRINKS -delicious!!! Great, accurate descriptions -I tried the parsley one and it was so refreshing and perfectly herby. I've told everyone about it! -I also tried the apple anise which is accurately a mix of both apple and anise flavors! I forgot I don't like anise much so it wasn't my favorite but again still accurate and well made. THE SERVICE -very kind server! A lovely woman in the restroom overheard my friend and I unsure on where to venture, and she suggested this place! Moody and welcoming. Absolutely loved it. We went in ~10:45 on a Wednesday pm. Apparently they do live jazz weekly as well, but we'd come too late. A handful of bar patrons, a couple making out in the back of the dining room at their cute table, a lovely bartender, me& my bff. We really hit the jackpot for ambiance last night. Decor in there is so cute. I wish I took a picture of the table lamp on the bar. It was embellished with beads hanging on the rim of the shade. Our drinks were top notch. Mine was a citrus vanilla profile and hers was a savory martini. The sandwich, I had one bite of it was yummy. I don't like imitation lunch meats though. CATFISH was breaded and fried fabulously. Not oily. Crispy and crunchy. So happy to have discovered this place! The bartender told us they just celebrated 6 years of business!
