They charged me $700 to put my car on the lift and look at it. Then when we looked at it, it was obvious he never really looked at it. I should take them to court but I'm too busy it was only a $700 loss. For nothing. At all. They never turned 1 wrench. They took a $1,000 deposit for parts and then only refunded me $300 and called the $700 research time. Before they took my money I asked them. What is the bill currently they said "could be $300 could be $700 depends on your attitude". I was pretty calm I make good money so no problem. I knew I had a good attitude I just wanted to get my car worked on and only had $7,000 to work with. If price can more than double based on my attitude towards my own car then I have to get out now. I recently purchased an older truck, needed a shop to take it to, and had high hopes for Just Peachey. I towed the truck to Just Peachey around midnight. It was the only time I could do it (you don't get to decide when your vehicle breaks down, or when you can arrange to tow it). Unbeknownst to me the space we towed my truck to on the street was blocking one of a few entrances. It was dark and I exited my truck on the street side so I just never noticed. I walked over to the door of JP. There was no drop box for the key, just a mailbox which I thought was unusual. There was a truck parked just outside the door and a light on inside, so I thought I'd knock just in case someone was inside. When I knocked someone from the other side asked what I wanted. I told him I was dropping off a vehicle. He asked who I was, and so I said "a customer". I thought it was a strange exchange since dropping off a vehicle after hours at a mechanic is pretty common. Anyway, he let me in. He was friendly and seemed cool. He told me he was there because of something having to do with a divorce. He took my info, I gave him my key and off I went. Next morning I get a call from Levi, the owner. He was angry that I parked my car blocking an entrance. It's understandable that he needed to say something, but his tone and word choice wasn't acceptable. However, that was nothing compared to what he said next. He accused me of "coming around in the middle of the night and harassing his employee". Seriously?! Really?! If his employee, at the place of business, didn't want to take my information or talk with me, then he could have either ignored my knocking, or just asked me to leave my key in the mailbox. This "harassing his employee" that he speaks of is generally called "running a business". I definitely won't be "harassing" anyone at this business again. When I came to pick up the truck the next day, Levi seemed cool. I suspect he felt bad for what he said to me, but a genuine apology was what the situation called for. JP probably does good work, and they're probably good people, but with other shops in town that will treat me with decency, why would I bother? read more

I've had Levi as my mechanic for years. He's the only person I trust my car with besides myself, and I know I always get the fairest deal with him. When he's able to get a deal on parts, he passes it on the customer. When he accounts for labor, he's thinking about it in terms of difficulty, not how much he can get out of your wallet. He knows what he's talking about and is always willing to explain it so you know what's going on, why it happened, and possibly how to prevent it from happening again in the future. Over the last 2 yeas these guys were supposed to be restoring my old truck. After two years and a very large amount of money the truck was junk. I have had to have every main component of the truck redone. Brakes, transmission, AC, exhaust and much more. The truck didn't even make the 20 mile trip home before brake failure, front bumper was hanging by one bolt, the exhaust on one side broke off, the header to exhaust connection separated due to lack of bolts and the AC unit froze up. All in 20 miles. Many more serious issues have arisen since including massive oil leaks, fluid leaks and overheating. The alignment was so far off I ruined the front tires in less than 100 miles. I could go on and on about the many many issues. My truck has been in a legit shop most of the time since I picked it up from Just Peachey. The lead "mechanic" on my truck was Ed, I don't believe Levi worked on my truck so maybe he is a good mechanic. read more

Levi is the sole mechanic and owner of the shop. While you'll probably have to make an appointment to have you vehicle serviced, it's well worth it. I found him to be honest, fair, and very competent at what he does. Parts were priced very affordably and service/customer relations was excellent. I can't explain how happy I am that I found Levi. I have a '56 Studebaker pickup that was previously maintained by my father in CA, so for better or worse I really never had to do or know anything about it. I am now wholly responsible for it, and as a woman who knows nothing about cars I am constantly in fear of being ripped off and taken advantage of when I have auto work done. Levi's shop happened to be around the corner from my house, so I took a chance and am SO GLAD I did. Not only are his prices extremely fair (when I told my dad how much he charged for the work, he said "Looks like you found yourself a good honest mechanic!"), but I also really appreciated the way he spoke to me. Most mechanics gloss over things assuming (correctly) that I won't understand anyway. However, Levi spoke to me the way he would have any other customer--or at least that's how it felt.
