I couldn't possibly do Princess Academy appropriate justice with this review but here goes…read more.. I had been doing research for my daughter's 4th birthday for months in advance and an awesome parent at her ballet class tipped me off to Princess Academy. I was hoping to find something that 1.) we hadn't already done (and with two toddlers I assumed this would be a difficult feat) 2.) Something that was somewhat low key, she's still at this phase where she isn't quite demanding things (like a dozen screaming little gal pals being present) so I want to take advantage and 3.) something special, I of course adore this chick and feel she deserves something unique and worthwhile. I looked up Princess Academy online and checked out their "menu" of services and it was exactly what I was looking for. I had heard about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland and always hoped that they would have something similar close-by (and ideally not as $$Expensive$$). This was that and SO. MUCH. MORE. I reached out and left a voicemail. I received a return call from Amanda who was incredibly sweet and enthusiastic about putting something special together for us. I immediately booked The "Royal Treatment" with Tea and Cookies -for four. Two Grandmas, myself and the birthday girl. Amanda then told me about a special photo-shoot opportunity, which I took advantage of as well. The photo shoot day was so much fun for our little girl. Amanda was so nurturing and wonderful to work with and the photos turned out great. You can't beat the price either, especially considering that they provide the attire, they do the hair and makeup! Garden fairy princess, I believe was the theme. Next up was her Royal Treatment and Tea Party surprise. I can't even describe how wonderful the entire experience was. "Princess Amanda" and "Princess Brea" were waiting at the front door when we arrived. It was a magical and empowering morning of pampering and positivity (at a fraction of the price that you would pay for anything similar anywhere else). I couldn't possibly have asked for anything more. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. For a unique and memorable experience call them!

Parking- Get there as early as you can, especially on weekends, to secure a good spot. The…read morerestaurant is in an outdoor shopping center, which can be busy at times. They do have overflow parking in the back, which was not a bad walk. I chose this afternoon tea restaurant specifically because it offers vegan options for an extra charge. You book your reservation online, and they will email you to confirm it. The response was fairly quick. I reserved for two Royal Tea which was $58/person with the $6 charge for one vegan option. Our reservation was at 2 PM. We arrived promptly, and our table was already set. I took my goddaughter here for her 16th birthday and wanted her to experience something new. We were seated and given the tea menu, from which we could choose two different tea selections per person. I chose the Japan Genmaicha and the Darjeeling Estate. My goddaughter chose the Pretty in Pink and the Butterfly pea flower. Honestly, I enjoyed all four teas we chose. The butterfly pea flower was really cool, especially when you squeeze the lemon because it changes color. Adding honey to any of the teas was also really good, as it adds a nice, sweet note. The first meal we had was a small pancake, which I found very tasty. They had a vegan option for this as well and offered vegan butter. That first dish was really good. The next dish was a salad, served with a vinaigrette dressing on the side. Then our mini bites tower was served. One thing I would say about the food tower is that I wish they'd separate the vegan from the non-vegan food. It was honestly hard to tell which was vegan and which wasn't. I wasn't sure if this was something I could've requested, but this was the reason I gave 4 stars. Also, because the server had to switch one of the scones at the last minute to a vegan one, they gave us a regular scone. I really loved the quiche and the chicken croissant. After the second tower, we were both so full that we couldn't get to the dessert and had to bring it home. All the mini bites were really good, and we enjoyed them all. If you have any dietary restrictions, make sure you request that it be placed on a separate plate. One other thing that brought my rating down to four stars is the service. They need at least 2 servers to handle the afternoon tea. They only had one, and she was handling about five or six tables and doing all the teas and mini bites, literally by herself. They should have two people so they can split responsibilities. Having a single server handle everything was not feasible. All in all, my goddaughter and I had an amazing time here. We enjoyed our meal and our experience. The price point was really good as well. We will definitely be visiting again.

So, today along with my mother we went Sotherton Tea Room for their Queen's Tea Experience. When we arrived a little after 4pm, there was a mix up with the Open Table reservation. Our reservation was for 4:15pm. However, the owner stated they don't take reservations that late, and have had issues with Open Table. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us, and we were able to have the Queen's Tea Experience. As for the tea we tried the Obstinate Headstrong Girl and Triumph of a Lucky Guess. Both smelled and tasted very good! We each enjoyed savory sandwiches, quiche, cranberry scone, and dessert. All of the food was absolutely delightful! The menu changes monthly so it gives an excuse to come back for sure! The tea room itself is beautifully decorated and cozy. If you are a Jane Austen fan, this place is for you. Staff are all very kind, and we had a wonderful time.

Then on Valentine's Day, he surprised me and said he found this place. Initially it was fully booked and our reservation was for outside on a cold afternoon, but we showed up early and the staff was super cool and had a seat for us inside. I'm so glad we got to sit inside because I was admiring the lovely interior. They had fun couches, lovely chandeliers, and various flower arrangements. The day we went, it was fully booked, and we sort of got lost in the mix initially when the staff was explaining things, but once they figured out it was our first time the staff was super eager to explain things to us. We tried a couple different teas, enjoyed all the different sandwiches and deserts. Normally I only drink iced teas, and so they were super cool to provide me with a glass of ice so I could enjoy my teas. My favorite one was the first one they poured, which is the Obstinate Headstrong Girl. Overall we had enough time to only taste two teas, so we will for sure have to come back to try the rest. The owner was super friendly, I explained to her that normally I don't like scones but their scones were tasty and different. She explained a little about her technique, experiences in Europe and what separates theirs from all the rest I've tried. It was a fun experience, made for a very memorable Valentine's Day, and will for sure be back in the future to try more teas!

The gentleman who answered was kind, attentive, and made the process a breeze. The tea house itself is absolutely charming, cozy, elegant, and full of character. We opted for the High Tea service, which included multiple pots of tea (two per person), perfectly baked scones served with heavenly house-made Devonshire cream, delicate finger sandwiches, a selection of French desserts, and fresh, seasonal fruit. Everything was delightful, the scones with cream were divine, the curried and garden sandwiches were flavorful and fresh, and the teas were beautifully brewed and fragrant. This wasn't just a meal, it was a full sensory experience. The ambiance, the presentation, and the attention to detail made it a truly memorable outing. I was probably smacked at least 3 times lol High Tea service comes with: Scones with Devonshire cream and jam 5 types of finger sandwiches 3 types of desserts Small variety of fruit (some of ours looked old and dry like the apple slices) 4 pots of tea for 2 people (I believe each person gets to choose 2 flavors each) Highlights for me: Cranberry orange scone with Devonshire cream Cucumber cream cheese sandwiches Curry chicken salad sandwiches Bella coola tea Service was great.
