The cutest princess dresses, set up, music, all of it. My two daughters loved the pamper package!

I couldn't possibly do Princess Academy appropriate justice with this review but here goes... I had been doing research for my daughter's 4th birthday for months in advance and an awesome parent at her ballet class tipped me off to Princess Academy. I was hoping to find something that 1.) we hadn't already done (and with two toddlers I assumed this would be a difficult feat) 2.) Something that was somewhat low key, she's still at this phase where she isn't quite demanding things (like a dozen screaming little gal pals being present) so I want to take advantage and 3.) something special, I of course adore this chick and feel she deserves something unique and worthwhile. I looked up Princess Academy online and checked out their "menu" of services and it was exactly what I was looking for. I had heard about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland and always hoped that they would have something similar close-by (and ideally not as $$Expensive$$). This was that and SO. MUCH. MORE. I reached out and left a voicemail. I received a return call from Amanda who was incredibly sweet and enthusiastic about putting something special together for us. I immediately booked The "Royal Treatment" with Tea and Cookies -for four. Two Grandmas, myself and the birthday girl. Amanda then told me about a special photo-shoot opportunity, which I took advantage of as well. The photo shoot day was so much fun for our little girl. Amanda was so nurturing and wonderful to work with and the photos turned out great. You can't beat the price either, especially considering that they provide the attire, they do the hair and makeup! Garden fairy princess, I believe was the theme. Next up was her Royal Treatment and Tea Party surprise. I can't even describe how wonderful the entire experience was. "Princess Amanda" and "Princess Brea" were waiting at the front door when we arrived. It was a magical and empowering morning of pampering and positivity (at a fraction of the price that you would pay for anything similar anywhere else). I scheduled my 5 year old step daughter for nails, dress up & face paint. The owners were incredibly charming, kind & friendly. My step daughter had one of the best days of her life (she asks everyday if we can go back) and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Both of the women were incredibly talented, her nails were fantastic, the face paint was amazing & they ended up doing her hair which was absolutely adorable. This is probably one of the best business ideas I have come across in ages & I highly recommend taking your child there. We have already booked another visit & I have raved to all the other moms in the area! The prices are unbeatable (in face I probably would have paid more than what we were charged!). Took my granddaughter today for a "royal treatment ". Very fun experience for her. "Princess Amanda" helped her pick out a princess dress to wear (many choices), did her hair, painted her fingers and toes (sparkling of course) and painted her face. My granddaughter had a great time with many compliments as we were shopping after. Definitely recommend. When you call to set an appointment leave a message, she returns calls on Tuesday and Thursday. read more

Such a wonderful place to go! My little granddaughter loved it. She had the most special time. she sang ,She dance, she spun with the princesses! Got her hair and nails done.. princess Jessica read her a wonderful story out of a story book. I believe it was a very special day for her . She is turning four. and totally thought she was at princess school ! They made her birthday a very special day !she walked down Sutter Street and announced to everybody that went by. that she just left the academy..... read more

Very disappointing. My daughter and I pass by at least 1/week. There are always advertisements for upcoming events, but we've never seen the location open. Going to the website, you are directed to call a number. I left 3 messages over a 2 week period, with no response. Events we've been interested in have come and gone, again with no response. My daughter and I are very interested in the concept of this place, and even understand it being open by appointment/event only. It would just be nice if someone returned phone calls, even if it's to say that an event is full. We would have been happy to schedule our own event with friends, but again, no response. We hope something changes as the idea is really cute! read more

Great place for a birthday party! We had our daughter's 5th birthday party, and she and her friends had an absolute blast being pampered and parading down Sutter St. The "fairy godmother" hosts were very accommodating and great with the kids. We liked the emphasis on a positivity, kindness, and self-confidence. But we were a bit surprised by the religious component (5 seems awfully young to be talking about "purity fingers" and "saving yourself" for marriage, particularly without discussing with the parents first), but when we raised our concerns, the hosts quickly adapted and left those aspects out of the day's events. All in all, our daughter had a great time and memorable birthday. read more

My daughter just had her 5th birthday party there. It was the BEST party of all time. Every child had a wonderful time, every parent told me that I had just set the bar for birthday parties. Each girl had their hair done, nails, got to pick one of over 150 gowns to wear, tea party, parade around the block with a real princess, and much more. This party was way beyond anything I could have possibly hoped for. I can't give enough praise to Princess Academy and their workers. When I was presented the bill, all I could think of was that this place was worth twice the cost. read more

Tried to buy two gift certificates when they were open but were hosting a party, they asked me to come back in 10 minutes. Came back they locked the door on me refused to help me and had a oh well too bad attitude. I will never go back nor recommend. read more

We happened to park in front of here on our way to Ice Skate. It just happened that Santa was there! Our daughter who is 3 and half was so excited and what better place to meet Santa. No line! Princess was on site! Santa had an old 1928 Ford decked out in everything Santa. We will be back! read more

I came in here recently with my niece because she loved princesses and she loved it there. They did her face and nails and they did a really good job. Then afterwards they played and entertained my nieces for a while. Will definitely be back in the future. read more

Such a wonderful place for little girls and big girls alike. We were passing by and knocked on the door. Even though they were closed and had a party coming in shortly they let my daughter come in, gave her face paint and a balloon sword. The owner was wonderful and kind, like a princess herself. Totally reasonably priced and great overall experience. Before they get their treatments the princess encourages the girls to value themselves and their inner beauty first. I am pleased to submit my highest recommendation for Princess Academy in Folsom. I have taken my granddaughters to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disneyland and was searching for a local facility with similar services. Princess Academy far exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, we immediately entered an enchanting princess world. Princess Amanda was amazing and gracious as she guided my three granddaughters in selecting beautiful princess gowns, royal hair styles with tierras, and sparkling designed faces and fingernails. They twirled, danced, sang princess songs, and individually created custom fragrances. The grand finale was a lovely tea service with everyone selecting their own personal tea and assorted cookies. My granddaughters learned that to be a princess it is not just what you wear, it's what is in your heart. Thank you, Princess Academy! read more

While walking through Old Folsom, I stopped in at the Princess Academy to see if they had lip gloss or lip balm for my girl's chapped lips. I saw they catered to little "princesses" and held princess parties and photo shoots. My daughter was in awe having never seen anything like it. Since she's been keeping her room clean and her teacher had nothing but good things to say at her parent/teacher conference, I treated my daughter to a quick princess hairstyling (hubby and boys came in and were restless after playing around in the castle so nothing that would take too long). The owner and the beautiful princess at the academy (I believe it was her daughter) made my little girl feel so special and she walked out of there receiving compliments from all 3 of her brothers, which surprised both hubby and me since we didn't suggest anything or prompt them. Along with friendly service and a cute, cute atmosphere, I did find lip balm and other girly trinkets. My daughter asked to go back again should she get good grades on her next report card. My 4yr old and 5yr old daughters LOVE the Princess Academy! While my girls and I were shopping in Old Folsom, we dropped by for the girls to get their 1st manicures and peticures. They had an amazing experience and were in awe of the real life princess that greeted them warmly and personally. The inside of the Princess Academy is like being in a fairy tale-complete with castle, formal Dining room,and a girly ambience. We ended up signing the girls up for a Princess Camp over the summer (not sure if it's only offered over the summers). The girls had fun getting dolled up each day but what I valued the most was that I felt like the came away learning valuable life skills. They regularly look into the mirror saying,"I'm amazing! I'm beautiful on the inside and that makes me beautiful on the outside (this will melt any moms heart). They also learned how/why to make eye contact, introduce themselves to new friends, and we reinforced for using good manors. The last day of camp at "graduation" the kids greeted and served their families. The girls got to dance with their family on the dance floor. It wrapped up with the owner calling each princess out of the castle by name. Then she proceeded to praise/affirm her strengths to those in attendance. My daughters kept a copy of her kind words and pinned it to the Bullitin boards in their rooms. We plan on having the girls birthday parties there this year. read more

What I did not know about this place was that they reinforce inner beauty and strength in a beautifully subtle way. I loved every moment and will cherish these memories forever. Amazing place for a mother daughter day. Brought my 4 year old here for a birthday make over. The owner and her daughter are so welcoming and nice, my daughter who does not trust adults let them do her hair and face which is rare. My sister booked a photo shoot with Amanda from princess academy and brought us along. She had taken her daughter to the princess academy many times but I had never met Amanda because I have a little boy and hadn't been there. We did a full hour and it was the best experience!!!! Amanda and her family were so sweet! We didn't feel rushed in any way and she had the best ideas! The kids responded so well to her because she was so sweet an easy going! I have had some crappy photographers that get annoyed with kids or impatient but I will book every photo session with Amanda from here on out! Such a great experience!!!
