I love this classic Belltown bar, and have loved it since I was an undergrad working part time as a server downtown. The house drinks are super fun and there's never a very long line at the bar. The tap list could use some help, but the cocktails are always poured strong. The arcade in the back has all the classics, with my favorite being Mario Cart, which can be played in a group of four. The art around the bar is so cool too! I highly recommend this to both people from out of town and locals who are looking for a little change-up; Jupiter is always an opportunity for a good night. DISCLAIMER: Do not order the food. It's overpriced and not very good. Prices are probably pretty standard. Maybe it's just that guy, but I'm not interested in coming back. I noticed after checking my receipt that there was a $0.50 card fee. Great pizza but I'll never go back. Front door guy and cooks super nice. Female bartender has issues. I've lived in Seattle for 15 years and if I get treated poorly I simply choose to not give them my money. I had 4 visitors in town and as always, I take them to some of my hangouts and Jupiter has been on that list for approximately 10 years. I'd run a bar tab twice this past week with a different bartender and each time we had a total of 15 drinks, spent roughly $100 on pizzas and $40 on games. I tipped a minimum of 35% each time. Then last night we ordered five pizzas ( they're personal size) then went to get drinks. Handed her my card for a tab and she said they don't do tabs. I looked confused and said "oh, I just did twice this week" She then snapped at me and said "Go someplace else" Yah, I'll take her advice and indeed go someplace else and never go back. Had so much fun here the other evening. Came here with my bestie while visiting from out of town. They Have so many games and a lot of interesting pinball machines. The drinks were strong and not very pricey. The food sold was pretty pricey. I agreed to pay $18 for taquitos. I'm from LA and have never paid a hefty price for Hispanic food but the quality of food was worth the price. All of the employees were super nice, especially the front door guy. His kindness was infectious. The bathrooms were clean and artsy with graff quotes everywhere. The art and dope remixed 70's/80s music was a VIBE. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Jupiter Bar for drinks and to play games. We had no idea what we were about to experience but we sure are glad we decided to come here. They have a wide selection of pinball machines and numerous classic multiplayer games such as The Simpsons beat em up and Mortal Kombat. We didn't know how long we had stayed until one of their staff members told us they were shutting the machines off in 10 minutes due to closing. Surprisingly, we were there for almost 4 hours enjoying the multitude of games that they had to offer. What's even better is, their games take actual quarters instead of knock off tokens so the nostalgia of a classic arcade really sets in. They also have a vending machine that has postcards you can buy and send to loved ones when you're piss drunk. The overall atmosphere of this place is great and we highly recommend coming if you're into classic arcade and pinball machines! read more

Sometimes after a long day of work, you just need some 1980s arcade games! This place was so much fun. I actually visited two nights in one week. You get to play pinball and Pac-Man with quarters (no plastic cards, like in casino arcades). When you walk in, you can order pizza on the left, and order a drink on the right. My veggie pizza and blueberry cider was tasty. This is not a fancy place, so wear some very casual clothes, and have a great time! read more

I really enjoy this bar! My apartment is within wobbling distance, which is great for me, but overall really great vibes. The bartenders are fun and approachable and can be a little heavy-handed, plus the selection of pinball machines and other arcade games is really great. Straight-forward quarters to machine (I hate how new arcades require game cards), and during the summer, there's nothing I crave more then their boozy-slushies! we try to visit this barcade every time we're in this area of seattle. it's a lot of fun and i love all the fabulous artwork! they occasionally switch things up on the walls and where they put the games, and every time we stop by i take a lap to see what new art is up. it's really a cool spot. their drinks are good and reasonably priced, especially for seattle, but you're not obligated to drink or eat to come in, which is nice. the machines play via quarters and there are a couple of different change machines around, as well as an ATM i believe. pinball is always a good time and they have lots to choose from, and we also enjoy their tabletop arcade games when we bring friends here. super interesting place, we're glad to have found it! also, a few months ago they were selling jupiter shirts with a paratrooper on them... does anyone have a lead on where to get one!? the last time we'd gone, they were waiting on more sizes, but this time they had different designs for sale and we're bummed we missed it! read more

I absolutely loved this place. There are so many cool things l don't know where to start. The walls are covered in art from local artist ,and there was also an artist there painting a portrait while a DJ plays the latest hits on vinyl. I felt my inner child come out the moment I saw tons of pinball machines and arcade games in the back of the bar. There are two bars so that you don't have to worry about the hassle of going to the front to grab a drink if you are playing games in the arcade. I've been in the mood for arcade bars recently and this place just added to my excitement! This is a lot bigger than another one that I sometimes go to and has a lot more games so you don't feel as cramped inside. Jupiter Bar has the typical games like PacMan and tons of pinball machines. There's also a bar area in the front which a decent amount of seating. This is a great place for a night out with friends that is halfway between a chill night in playing board games and going to the club in Cap Hill. Arcade bars like these are a great place to go for different occasions from birthday outings to date nights. I came here on a weeknight while visiting Seattle and met a couple buddies from college for a mini-reunion - haven't seen them in a couple years. First off and foremost, most of the staff and the bar itself were very pleasant and a fun place to hang out. HOWEVER, one staff member in particular made our entire experience extremely unenjoyable. His name was DJ. Initially, when I asked for his name he said "I never gave you my name and I don't have to tell you it". I eventually found out DJ's name after asking his coworkers what his name was. Additionally at the end of the night when I said "Thank you, DJ" he ignored me (twice). He was constantly following us throughout the night, and was waiting to threaten to kick us out if we didn't immediately put our masks on after taking a sip. We understand the mask policy/mandate and wore it 99% of our time and only took them off shortly before and after taking a sip of our drinks. Our girlfriends mentioned they had no issue walking around and taking sips of their drinks without having to worry about being confronted/watched by staff. They noted making direct eye contact with DJ but he never imposed the same rules upon them. Overall, we felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome in this bar (I'm glad our girlfriends had a great time and they would recommend it) but personally I would go to another bar on 2nd Ave.) I want to point out that the rest of the staff was very nice and had our backs and stepped in when there was a conflict with a particular staff. The drinks were good, but don't outweigh the extremely negative customer service experience we had here tonight. read more

I've been to some arcade bars before and this one was pretty good. The drinks were ok, wish there was more variety in mixed drink choices on menu. Game selection was nice. Jupiter Bar is definitely a great place to hang out! Not even just on the weekends, it was pretty hopping on the weekdays, too. Perhaps an advantage of being close to The Crocodile and other various venues? TONS of pinball machines here!! Several of which I have never played, which was definitely a huge bonus. While pinball is the main take away, they also have several arcade games, including a Joust game that will allow for up to 10 players. Bartenders, overall, are great. They can be unbelievably slow at times, but they know how to pour and they have great personalities! That said, if you're going to want to bounce quickly once you're done to catch a show or whatever you should probably close out sooner rather than later. Food wise?They sell "grinders" ...depending on who you ask. They have several varieties to choose from and there are definitely some unique choices! If you're vegetarian you have one choice and only one choice, but it's actually quite good. You can add chips for $2, which I wouldn't recommend because you get about $1 worth of chips...though they're good chips. Kind seems like Tim's (I didn't ask) and they came in both jalapeno and sour cream& onion. As an added bonus there's Elsa the dog, which belongs to one of the employees and I've seen chillin' around the place. Drove down to Seattle to play pinball and this was a pretty decent place. Drinks were good and large selection of machines.

The drinks were just okay, not amazing. The vibe of the place was good until we sat down at the bar. The bartender with the beanie and nose ring was not friendly at all. My boyfriend and I were trying to make nice conversation with him by asking how he was doing and he completely ignored us. I understand that it can get busy and you're wanting to finish your shift but straight up ignoring customers is not cool. It just made the situation feel super awkward and unwelcoming. read more
