Although it sounds like a simple task, they had to expertly navigate a narrow stairwell without leaving a mark on the easily scuffed flat white paint while avoiding multiple light fixtures on the wall. I reached out for a quote via email on a Thursday and TJ was quick to respond. I sent photos and a list of the items I wanted to move, then I was given a date and time 6 days out--to which I agreed to and reserved the elevator for, but then was asked to switch the time. No worries. I explained to park in the loading zone (the sign says loading zone) outside the building garage gate. Still did not receive a confirmation email for the past 5 days, so my boyfriend called the night before to double check (they answered at 7pm which was surprising and appreciated). TJ called to confirm on the morning of. When he and his partner arrived, he seemed distraught and said he'd suddenly have to charge an extra $200 because it was a bigger hassle for him to go from apartment to the truck outside. Apparently when I said loading zone, he imagined something different. I was in a time crunch and went through a lot of work to reserve and pad the elevator for it, so I just went with it. I wish that if this was a factor in pricing, he'd have asked for more details during the quote, instead of a surprise fee in person. $500 plus tip for a queen mattress removal, a bed frame (that we pre-disassembled), dresser, book case, small patio table, and a bucket of misc household items. The website claims to sweep up afterwards, but I cleaned up a pile of sawdust on my own. Granted, the table they took from outside was where construction was and it was fairly dusty, so it wasn't a huge deal to do it on my end. No visible damage created to the building. They did the job very quickly between two people, and I appreciated that they worked hard despite them expecting a different situation. Perhaps it is an opportunity to work on communicating their preferences and additional fees with clients in the future. Might have considered somebody else if I was informed about "special pricing" during the inquiry process. read more

We had TJ come remove 2 large couches and an easy chair that we couldn't find a home for, and about a week later we had him come back to remove the rolls of carpet and pad we'd removed from our living room, the 3-piece sectional in our family room, and a pile of stuff outside that my husband had been meaning to take to the dump for months but hadn't got around to. TJ and his helper were great--they kept us updated on arrival time, were quick and efficient with the removal and so cheerful all throughout. He had thought the stuff would only constitute half a load, so quoted us the half-load price; it ended up being a full load, but he refused to charge us more than he'd quoted, even though to us it would have been well worth it. My mother recently passed away and we needed to empty her condo of everything so that it could be sold. Nobody in the family wanted any of the furniture, or most of her other items, and we really didn't want to have to rent a truck and carry all the furniture out and down the stairs, into the truck, and deal with renting a truck, driving to the dump, etc. TJ and one other guy emptied the 3 bedroom condo in a little over an hour, taking one load to the dump and coming back for a second load of stuff they were taking to a donation site. Start to finish including the dump run was about 3 1/2 hours. TJ responded right away every time I texted or emailed, and kept me updated on "moving day" so I knew when they were arriving in the morning and again coming back from dumping the first load.
