Tri-tip

Wow! This place is Ah-Mazing! We tried the Nolan Burger, potato salad, cheesy potatoes, side salad, biscuit, baked beans and a half order of Tri-tip. We enjoyed it all! We didn't buy any baked goods but they looked so delicious! I highly recommend this place!

Nolan's burger (tritip and bacon)

I knew this place was legit the moment I drove up, everything is made by hand from what I can tell. Their bbq sauce was the best I've ever had and of course the tritip was very tender. Junipers was a breath of fresh air compared to the wannabe pop up bbq places that try to be open 12 hours a day 7 days a week. The crazy part is THE PRICING WAS AMAZING. Staff were nice and the ambiance was exactly what I would expect from a perfect bbq spot.

Pulled pork and homemade bun

The food here was amazing and top quality- service was top notch! Highly recommended. We tried the cheesy potato's, potato salad, beans, pulled pork and the chicken sandwich. Everything is great quality and delicious. You can tell they take pride in what they're preparing

Wow! What a great find in Burns. We were happy to have them open on the 4th of July so we had BBQ on the holiday! Yummy pulled pork, steak tri tip and chicken. The chicken was slightly over cooked but the homemade food made up for it. All the salad dressings were homeade and the buns, too. Added fun sprinkles on the root beer. Delicious desserts like snickerdoodles and peanut butter bars.

Wow incredible food. I have tried several items, my favorite is the Western Burger. Wow, it is amazing. Be sure to get out and look at the desserts. The customer service is amazing.

I had breakfast. Everything was cooked to order and home made. Fresh baked bun with sausage, egg, and cheese. Very tasty. Glad I stopped.

Small place to eat with outdoor eating under a tent. Kids meals were huge and hamburgers were good.

Burns,OR May 2026…read more We came on a Wednesday night and there were only three other tables that were occupied. At 6:15 all the tables are filled. The restaurant is very clean. The floors, the food, the tables, the chairs. I am very impressed. My husband and I ordered a half chicken salad to share and we also split the chicken Alfredo. The Chicken salad was large. I found it hard to believe it was only a half portion. The salad came with a very large portion of shredded torn, hot chicken. The lettuce was Romaine and it had diced tomatoes with shredded cheese slices of cucumbers, large slices of red onion, and croutons. It was supposed to come with a sliced egg, but there was none on the salad. The chicken Alfredo was a very large portion. There was more chicken on the salad then in the chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce tasted smoky. I swear there was a half a pound of pasta in that dish. Like all the other portions of food it is very large. They serve fresh bread with butter to the table. The bread is delicious. The waiter said they make it here. We were offered dessert but we chose you to decline. They have a display case of three different kinds of pies, bars, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and more. My only complaint is that the booths are so far from the table. I had to eat at the end of my bench. But I love that the backs of the booths are so very tall. You can't see your neighbor behind you. I was finished eating and pushed my plate away. My husband was still eating his food. The waiter came up to see if we needed anything else. As we were talking to him, an older woman came by interrupted our conversation with the waiter and started to take all of our plates. My husband was not finished eating, but since she piled the plates on top of each other, we were now done. Perhaps in the future, she should ask if we are finished before removing them from the table. The staff is friendly. The food is ginormous and delicious. This is definitely a place if I were passing through I would stop and eat again. I give this restaurant 4.7 stars.

We were seated and it was indicated that it might take our server a little bit to get to us. Honestly, we didn't wait any longer than a typical restaurant that wasn't busy. All good. With its supper club vibe, the entrees include a shrimp cocktail, soup or salad, bread, and choice of potatoes. They do not scrimp on portions. Even my wine choice was a healthy pour. The room was decorated with lots hangings that felt homey and welcoming. I chose the pork chop as my entree. It was served nice and hot and cooked perfectly. It was a thicker, bone in cut, served with cinnamon apples on top. Very good. Salad was huge, shrimp cocktail was served in a small stemmed dish with a dollop of cocktail sauce on top. Garlic mashed potatoes were buttery and creamy. Our server was great. We enjoyed this stop.

When it comes to politics in business, we live by a simple rule. Keep it to yourself, and it's none of our business to ask about it. Put it on some form of display, and if not too obnoxious, we might overlook it. We come to restaurants to eat, not to think about political stuff. Plaster it everywhere on the outside--thus washing our faces in it--and that's a big flipped bird at anyone who doesn't share those politics. They are perfectly entitled to their choice of decor, but in turn we are perfectly entitled to turn around and drive away. Nailing their colors to the mast is a choice, and it tells some customers that they are not welcome. One of two things is true: Either the owners are great with that, or they are unable to see the harm. A lot of money has probably flowed away from this place over the years for this reason, and it's not like the John Day community has a massive population base. Two stars because, while the presentation was so hideous it made us not want to support their business, we can't judge the food or service. But hey, if that's fine with them, duly noted.
