This is definitely one of Oxnard's hidden gems. This place isn't a looker from the outside, but it is amazing. They serve healthy, fresh smoothies & other nutritious items. My favorite is the mora smoothie or the chocobanana. I love the tortas here-- they're some of the best in town (especially the torta de milanesa!). Arcoiris/Rainbow/Jungle Juice, this place has a big identity problem because I'm not sure what the real name of this place is, even when my brother was trying to tell me where to go to grab a torta, he was confused on what the name is! I believe there's a couple of Jungle Juice in Oxnard, and I don't know if they are owned by the same owner. The restaurant itself is hard to spot because of its location on a busy street, where you always have to look forward to avoid crashing to other distractive drivers. Not only that but it's also on a strip mall which you sometimes can't even see it. I've stress before that saviers road needs a huge facelift, to get rid of all the parking and make it more walking friendly, that would make the experience a whole lot better, nothing is worse than having a view of a worn out PARKING LOT!! This place has the aura of where the young hang out in cities all over central Mexico after they get out of school; however its location prevents it from being like that. Too bad the city of Oxnard requires parking to any business (and they want to redevelop downtown to be thriving). This restaurant has a couple of different plates on the menu, but the things they specialize in are tortas. Tortas are Mexican sandwiches with a different kind of bread that makes the sandwich taste completely different!! This restaurant has a couple of choices of meat, ham, carne asada, pork, chicken etc. The torta comes standard with tomatoes, onion, avocado, lettuce, mayo and jalapeños and they add extra if you order it! The tortas are good; they taste exactly how a torta should taste, exactly what you ordered. The bread has a crunch on top, and soft bread inside, it makes it hitting it really enjoyable. The way they toast it is really different than a traditional sandwich because they use a plancha(iron looking thing) so this device toasts the outside and warms the inside, really good!! This place also specializes in natural juices, and yes they are good. I ordered a mango juice and all they used was fresh and frozen mangos, I really appreciated that, they did not add any extra sugar or sweetener to it, so it tasted really fresh. I paid 10 dollars for a pork torta (which are not small at all) and a mango juice, and it was worth it I think. I'll probably go here again, the only thing that is probably going to prevent me from going there is going to be the traffic, and especially the saviers and CI interchange!! I give this 3 stars, the food taste like it should, however the experience could have been better (location and getting there)! The service was fast and friendly (even though it was busy). read more

Not a bad spot at all! If you don't like their cold smoothies which are based on whole milk, then you can have some fresh juice! They offer carrot, orange, and apple. They also can blend up a smoothie of your choice with water. The menu was divided with smoothies, drinks, parfaits in one said and Mexican cuisine (burritos, tacos, ceviche.) If you are gay and want to be made fun of and and looked less go here.. I decided to have a meal here (btw I only took one bite when I decided to feel less and very uncomfortable and demanded my money back and left). As a man that identifies itself as gay I was left in disbelief on how these people working here made fun me and my son. This is place is terrible for someone like me. I literally just witness someone making a mockery of myself and my son.... I hope whoever manages them has some common sense about who gay people are and we have existence here on earth... I still can't believe how loud they where laughing at us and the lady kept saying " hahaha he es comun asi viven " basically talking about me and my son... that is common and we live like that laughing in a joking way. then my son asked for lettuce because her illiterate self some how was shocked that a 10 year old was asking for "lettuce please" since the beginning and she missed it when she brought out our sandwhich. Juice was delicious and I loved that if you get it to stay it comes in a delightful giant glass goblet.

I can't pronounce the drink I ordered but for under $6 it seems like a pretty good value and the lady managed to makes beets taste good. The place is not all that nice inside and the staff was slacking on cleaning up a few tables. Not taking Amex will keep me from returning. I would recommend but would not go out of my way either. read more

Torts very delicious but honestly NOONE wears GLOVES here!!! It's gross and there are flys all over the fruit! The wait is forever and the lady behind the counter was handling money and touching food without gloves!! read more

Overall the tortas are good but not excellent. My gf and I got an asada torta and it had more fat then actually meat. The orange juice was good and the strawberry shake was even better. Make sure you specify you want meat and not fat. read more

So good! This place has the best gosh darn Tortas I've ever had, they're torta de "meelanesa" is my go to, other than the food, they're drinks are the next best thing, especially the horchata's here! Tortas tortas.. this is the place for them! the adobada torta was bomb!! their have a great selection of fruit smothies!! the only thing that bothered me was when asking the waitress what the tortas (sandwich) ingredients were and how they were prepared she replied "with bread" really! i encourage the owners to better train their staff in regards to these kinds of questions, their service is not bad at all and their food is great! but that answer annoyed me and took away from having a better experince with them... i will definitly return just dont know how soon! read more

Upon ordering tortas we were informed they had no avocado. The cashier asked if that would be a problem. My husband answered "yes, it makes a difference in the taste". I asked if we could have a discount for the inconvenience. I said that other places charge extra for it but their price already includes it. She giggled and asked another staff member and he said no. We were hungry and in the mood for a torta and mamey licuado so we went ahead and ate there anyway. My carne asada torta was more of a broiled beef torta. "ASADA" is GRILLED not BROILED. okay so jungle juice isn't on here? c'mon. it's sort of a whole in the wall. this place has a variety of items, but when i went last time it didn't have a price section on their menu? maybe it does now, but i'm not sure. anyways. they have a lot of things though, from tortas to pico de gallo fruit salads, to smoothies. i'm here to talk about the smoothies :] now, i was sort of hesitant to try it, but i went with my sister and she said they were delicious. they had several flavors, but i figured i'd go easy and try the strawberry one...it was grrreat. and only like $3.50 for a large, and they aren't kidding when they say large, it was HUGE. i ended up sharing because i couldn't finish it solo. they use fresh fruit, not artificial flavored powder, and it's nicely ripened fruit. it's a good balance of fruit and ice and whatever else they put in it, because i'm really not sure. it's a great smoothie though :] i haven't tried the actual food, because we only went to have a smoothie, but i'm sure it's decent. maybe someone else will review it :D or else i'll make my way around there when i'm hungry and i'll write another review. holluhh. read more

The Horchata. Its like Jackie Gleason in smokey and the bandit at the restaurant asking for a de ablo sammich and a DOHCTAH Peppa just sounds dangerously good. I have several mexican friends who have lived in Oxnard Port Hueneme all there lives and when I take them there for a horchata they all cream in there pants and get get another one to go!! All the smoothies are made fresh with fresh ingredients, the sandwiches are very tasty but a little to ethnic for my taste if you know what I mean but I still love em! Give this place a try and I will guarantee you have the best horchata your mouth has ever tasted. read more
