My nail tech, Minh, was gentle and cared for the details that mattered to me. I needed an acrylic fill and inquired about a gel color named "glazed donut" which I learned was similar to the Hailey Bieber color. Great experience with Minh. Bright, clean and happy nail salon. read more

Julie's Nails - "Glazed donut" gel color by Minh - Nail Salons Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

From someone who worked at the nail salon before, I loved this place! I had Leanna do my nails and she was so kind, sweet, professional, and amazing! I asked for an almond shaped nails and they turned out even, the perfect mix of thin and sturdy, and well rounded/pointy! I chose the color SNS BP 31! The owner was also very sweet and asked me if I needed any water. They are a new establishment so the interior is very clean and gorgeous! Very well lit and they have an amazing color selection! read more

Absolutely love Julie & her salon! The vibe is amazing and they are so kind. I've gone here for both my nails and toes since moving to AZ. I've brought multiple friends and we'll keep coming back read more

This salon is so beautiful! I made an appointment for 5 pedicures with some friends visiting from out of town and we all loved our time here. The nail techs were so nice and were super skilled at getting rid of my calluses (after 1 year of not having a pedicure and some crazy hiking/skiing/cute shoes). They have regular and gel polish versions of just about every nail color so you can really pick any shade for whatever polish type you're looking for. I saw a few people getting some really amazing nail art too! We had some extra time so ended up getting a manicure too, and tried dip for the first time! The nail tech was really nice to explain what they were going to do and where I needed to put my hands. They were super gentle during the filing and cuticle cleaning process too. I looooove how my nails turned out. I'll definitely be back again for a pedi and if I'm feeling adventurous, some funky nail art. read more

First of all, five stars for the nail techs, especially Jenny. She's very communicative and talented at her job. There was another female nail tech there, named Li who is amazing as well! The facility is clean and well maintained by the cleaning lady there. The 0 stars is for the owner Julie. I had the worst experience at a nail salon of my life because of her. She is extremely unprofessional and has anger issues. She yelled at me and made a huge scene in front of everyone in the shop and refused services to me at the end because of her stubbornness and temper. This all started a couple weeks ago when after by manicure and pedicure with Li and Jenny, I tried to make an appointment with Jenny and Julie (A different nail tech with the same name.) and the owner Julie denied it, but told me to call and make an appointment two days before. Cool. I waited two days before I wanted the appointment and called like she told me too. Julie picks up and I asked if I could make an appointment for Julie for a full set acrylic with design and with Jenny an acrylic pedicure. Julie tells me she can't make an appointment for two different nail techs at the same time, but I could be with Julie for both mani/pedi. I was confused because the last time I was there, I had two nail techs working at the same time so I asked again and she tells me she can't because Jenny is too busy. I accept a Mani Pedi just with Julie and made the appointment for 4:30 PM. On the day of, I show up 30 minutes early and was greeted by Julie the owner. I asked again if there was another nail tech available to do my pedicure at the same time as my manicure but she said she can't because they're too busy. Then she says that the other Julie is gone too because she is sick. But Jenny is there and could do both services for me. I am a bit confused and ask for clarification and explain I'm short on time, but she cuts me off and tells me I can only get a manicure and pedicure from Jenny. I settle with that and sit with Jenny and had a great manicure experience with her! I'm going to Vegas for my birthday, so I asked for a manicure that's Vegas themed and she did a gel X manicure with beautiful designs perfect for the trip! It took a little over two hours, but I appreciated Jenny's meticulous nature. I noticed after a while that Julie kept walking by Jenny and speaking to her in Vietnamese and seemed like she was rushing Jenny to hurry up so she could take the walk ins coming in. Since it took awhile for my manicure, (Understandably so), Julie asks Jenny to ask me if I could come back another day for the pedicure. I told her no, that today was the only day I can get my nails done ,and I made an appointment. PLUS I showed up earlier. She spoke some more Vietnamese to the other workers and said that it'll take a minute but someone will do my pedicure. I asked her I thought Jenny was going to do both and then she tells me my manicure took too long and now Jenny has another manicure appointment. She seem to get really upset when I asked and kept talking over me. I wait a while on the pedicure chair and noticed the other nail techs leaving since it was past 7 PM, the salon is closing time. One of the nail techs that left asked beforehand what I needed and I told her the acrylic step pedicure and she and the owner speaks some more Vietnamese and then she leaves. I wait another 30 minutes. Julie then walks over and starts my pedicure and complains to me while doing it. I explain to her that this is the reason why I wanted two techs to work on me at the same time so it would it take so long. She then tries to blame it on me like it's my fault.l that no one can do my pedicure and now she has to. I explain to her that I tried working with her by wanting to make an appointment earlier on, and I even showed up early to my appointment. She then got angry at me and accused me of trying to fight with her. She then starts being rough with the pedicure drill on my toes and I ask her to stop. She yells at me some more and walks out. The other Nail tech then tell me she told them they can't do my pedicure. I then leave and the other customers there that witness the whole thing sympathize with me and we're shocked just as I am that happened. This is a nice salon but the owner is not. What a terrible experience. Response to owner: This review isn't one sided. I explained all what had happened. I tried to book an appointment two weeks in advance. You told me to book two days in advanced. And then when I got there I requested multiple times to have two techs work on both pedi and mani at the same time but you refused. You took in walk ins despite knowing that I still needed a pedi after the mani. I told you ahead of time of what services I needed done. Maybe that's why you got angry at me and yelled at me and your employees. I never once raised my voice at you and kept calm even though you the business owner was acting so unprofessional. It is sad how you run your business. read more

Not worth your money. My first time here and I'll never go back. Not only did they have to add more polish on my toes because the polish on the two big toes was see through, but the lady who did my nails didn't listen to a single request I made. I asked to keep the length and just trim my natural nails a bit and to shape them, and they cut them so short that my fingers hurt. My natural nails went 2 cm past my finger tip. They also left hardened dip powder on my finger tips. When I brought it up they said for me to wash my hands at home, and when I said I'd do it there to see if it would come off she said no and then began to file my SKIN to get it off, which didn't work as it's still on my fingers. Not only did she file my skin, but she also used cuticle cutters to CUT my skin so the hardened powder would come off. These look horrible & im going to another nail salon now to get them removed. read more

I am really glad that I started coming to this salon since their "Grand Opening". Last week I went into Julie's Nails and got a "Dip Nail" service. The tech who did my nails did a great job & provided great customer service. Anyways....today my middle finger nail completed lifted and I jumped into my car and drove over to see if it could be saved I was greeted by the owner Julie and she told me to take a seat in her chair and she would fix my nail. I wanted to rave about her passion for her business & the love she has for her customers. Again, Julie had me sit in her chair but not only did she fix my 1 nail but she told me that she would redo my whole set and for NO CHARGE I was not expecting that but she wanted to make sure that I left with nails that matched since my other nails had already been growing out During our chat, Julie politely excused herself and spoke with an employee about a behavior she did not approve of. I love that she spoke with her employee but did not belittle them and also apologized to the customer. She wanted to make sure that her employees were not distracted and that the customer got all the focus. These are great traits to have in an owner of a business and it's not going unnoticed. Wishing you tons of success! read more

Customer service was awful, I'm not sure what I could have done to tick anyone off unless it was who I was with which is still very uncalled for. My nails are probably the worst set I've over had and they just sent me out the door very rude mannered. The color is chunky and uneven. I was also cut along my cuticle area on a few of my fingers. read more

i honestly want to love this place so bad because the technicians are amazing and do amazing work. but the customer service from the owner julie is unacceptable. the prices are extremely inconsistent and she is always adding $5, $10, $15 to the total cost for god knows what. when i ask for the price breakdown it's different from what im told the previous time. i get round about the same thing every-time & it's frustrating never knowing what the total is going to be. you shouldn't have to be arguing about set prices that are on their printed out price list. they do do a great job though so that's a plus but it's not worth getting treated poorly. read more

The owner was incredibly quick and responsive on yelp and booked me an early morning appointment (9:30) when I couldn't book an appointment with literally anybody else in a 15 mile radius. The salon is BEAUTIFUL! Gorgeous designs, wall papers, and open spaces makes the layout flow. The equipment is very clean, tidy and the whole place seems very well organized. Woman who gave me a pedicure (my bad manners, I forgot to ask her name) was very friendly and we had great conversation! Purchased the luxury pedicure w/gel and manicure dipped nails- very happy with results! Will visit again :) read more

I loved this place they killed it with my nails and the designs I had asked for definitely will be back soon !!!!

I am disappointed. I've been coming to Julie's for over a year now. I've had wonderful experiences up until today. I asked for pricing when I made my appointment to ensure I was prepared and she told me a fill was $57. My card was charged $75. I am not picky with which nail tech does my nails, but maybe this is a sign I should be. The middle aged man who did my nails talked to me, a 21yo woman, about his SEX LIFE for an hour. I did not say a single word. completely inappropriate. I called the owner after to tell her about this experience and mentioned both the overcharge AND inappropriate comments, yet she only seemed to care about breaking the price down for me. I'm sad to say I won't be returning. read more

I went and got pedicures with my sister and aunt. They did a great job however the cleanliness is in question. They removed my filter from my chair and switched it with my aunts. Our feet were already in the water, the cross contamination is not acceptable. We did not get new tools from the sterilization bag as well. read more

Beautiful salon with a great location and friendly staff. Love my gel manicure and look forward to returning in the future.

I don't know if I came in on a bad day but I've never felt more uncomfortable at a nail salon. I came in 2 weeks ago for the first time, as my regular nail person was on vacation so I decided to try a new place and had a really good experience the first time. She was a native woman and was kind and funny. I decided to come back today for only a pedicure due to that and this will be the last time I go here. I made an appointment in advance and just felt so rushed and like I was in a salon of mean girls. The gal working the front desk was really aggressive but at least smiley, unfortunately she rolled her eyes and her whole face dropped every time she turned away from a customer, I counted 3x just when I paid attention. Luckily she wasn't the person working on me but unfortunately I got the fastest, laziest pedicure I've ever had. My partner goes to get a pedicure with me, we both got the luxury package ($50 each for the luxury, with an additional $15 for gel on top of that for me) the gal doing my partners nails took her time, and the woman doing mine skipped half the steps or did them super fast. I didn't get my cuticles pushed back, and she barely scrubbed my callous area. She moved so fast that I did my whole pedicure with gel and had to wait an extra 5-10 mins for my partner to finish just his pedicure, no polish. I ended up going to Sallys beauty supply to get callous softener to do it myself after realizing on the way home how bad it was. Before leaving I decided towards the end to just do my gel manicure in the salon to save time. The gal doing my pedicure was trying to upsell me, and I took the bait, why not? Saves me time not having to go to my main nail salon and it'll match my pedicure color. As she's starting the front desk lady starts telling her in another language to go to another customer. The front desk lady then coldly tells me I need to wait. Listen, I understand that someone came in and was waiting but why try to upsell me and then be mean to me now that I said yes? I would have waited honestly, I don't mind waiting, but it was the way the lady working the front said it, with eye rolls and attitude that I decided just to say nevermind and finish up. Her whole tone changed after I said nevermind and she's like oh we can do it fast just relax, all smiles now, and she tried to get me to sit back down, realizing she just cost the gal who was doing my nails some extra money. I said it was fine, I got up and sat in the waiting area embarrassed by the interaction, watching my partner get his pedicure. It hit me what happened after looking at my feet and seeing how rushed the work was compared to the pedicures I've gotten in the past and I genuinely just feel scammed and rushed, it was the exact opposite of nice and relaxing, and I'll probably have to get my pedicure done way sooner than normal due to the cuticles not being done. I'd take my money elsewhere honestly. I regret tipping the 20% when I just wanted to get out of there but looking back, I'm embarrassed I let someone treat/talk to me that way. Let alone someone at a place where I'm paying for a service/experience. read more
