When I couldn't decide on a cocktail, Sandra readily recommended the Grapefruit Martini -- it was delicious and totally the right call, Hubby's Tito's Cosmo was also well-made. For dinner, Hubby had the Chicken Parm - it was enormous and delicious, chicken was cooked well and the homemade pasta was a perfect al dente. The sauce was very good, but there was too much cheese for his taste, an easy fix to move to the side. There was plenty to take home for a second meal so it was an even better value. I chose the Spinach Salad, which was fresh and tasty with artichokes and goat cheese. Again, it was a generous portion for a very good price. We rarely indulge in dessert but we were convinced to try the homemade Tiramisu and it was amazing, just the way I make it myself. It's very hard to find a Tiramisu that is so authentic. We absolutely recommend Tumi, based on our experience it would be had to make a bad decision from their menu.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, cute decor. We got oysters and their prix fixe menu, which is an amazing deal. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Both ceviches were delicious! Appetizers and mains were very good as well. There was so much food that we had to take desert to-go. Prix fixe menu is an excellent value, it offers great variety of tasty dishes and is very well priced. Service was quick and attentive. We will definitely come back.

The energy is upbeat without being chaotic, and it feels like a place where people are actually enjoying themselves. The food is good and tastes authentically Mexican, which makes sense considering much of the staff is as authentic as it gets. That always matters. Portions are generous, which helps balance out some of the pricing and keeps you from leaving hungry or annoyed. If I had one knock, it would be that prices are a bit higher than they used to be, but honestly that is everywhere and everyone is just trying to survive. Service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. You can see why this place is a local staple and also a magnet for tourists. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it. And the drinks deserve a special mention. They are stiff in the best way and absolutely appreciated. Overall a solid choice when you want good food, strong drinks, and a night that feels like a small vacation.

I went for their current advertised Lobster roll special at $23.99. Ordered Exactly as advertised and was charged $25.99. I asked first if it was all claw and knuckle or if they use tail meat too. Oh, definitely both , she exclaimed! I found one small mangled piece of tail at the bottom and it included a sharp piece of shell that hurt my tongue. I told them and showed her the shell. All she did was explain how they try to get it all but they just can't sometimes. I looked at her and said that they aren't doing it right. I asked if she was going to offer me a partial refund and she refused. The Lobster bisque was not a bisque and I don't think there was any lobster in the kitchen when it was made, much less in the pot!! Cole slaw was covered in spicy pepper and neither of us could eat it. Fries were meh! My husband had the fried scallop platter and they were overcooked and super greasy. Disgustingly so. I DK why people like this place but there are so many good places around here where you can get a full service meal, in a real restaurant cooked by real trained chefs and served by professionals who know how to make consumers happy. Total bill with tip was $84.07!!! For a crappy meal with no service and not a clue about customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this garbage.

What stands out: Some of the Peruvian / Colombian offerings are fantastic. Staff have a deep sense of kindness and hospitality. Even though they close at 8 p.m., they not only took the Pardner's just-under-the-wire order, but didn't rush us in the least. It wasn't until we'd finished and were on our way out that we noticed the hours -- and that we were 20 minutes past eight. The lobster ceviche was a touch spendy for the price, size, and the amount of lobster included in the dish. But it was very tasty, Peruvian in style and garnished with cancha and sweet potato, just the right amount of heat and acid. Empanadas were, I think, Colombian in style, made out of orange-tinged masa, beautifully deep fried with juicy innards -- wonderful. Tacos were made out of a soft flour tortilla and a hard corn taco shell, I guess not unlike a Taco Bell "chalupa." It was not what the Pardner was hoping for, unfortunately. There were two tacos to an order, which averaged out to be $9 or $10 a taco. Probably a bit steep for those of us who are lucky enough to be in a place where good south and Latin American food is more commonplace. This is the kind of menu I want to get to know. Not everything is to our own personal tastes, but there are some things that this place seems to do very, very well. I'd like to come back for those.
