Lobster Risotto
Thomas T.

The restaurant is beautiful with a yellow theme. There's outdoor seating and is just a step away from Main Street. Our server was really good and friendly. We got complimentary bruschetta that is toasted well and delicious. Tried the tuna ceviche for the first time. The lime juice gave it good flavor and was a good appetizer. The lobster risotto was delicious, the rice packed a ton of flavor and the grilled half lobster has a nice slight char flavor.

My mom and I went on a Friday night without a reservation and it was super busy which is always a good sign. There was lots of outdoor seating. Upon arrival, we didn't see the hostess for a good five minutes, but she was very friendly and accommodating once we connected with her. We got the perfect table outside. We were greeted with waters fairly quickly but noticed some floaters in our glasses. I wanted to mention this to someone, but no one else visited our table for at least ten minutes. My mom even got up to ask for a server. A gentleman eventually brought us bread and I asked if we could order but he did not take orders. We finally had a server come over and she was very nice and efficient and took care of us right away. I ordered the traditional ceviche and my mom had steak tips. The food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and both were delicious. I've had some pretty mediocre ceviche lately so I've been craving a quality ceviche and this hit the mark! My moms steak tips were tender and served with chimichurri and delicious potatoes. The food was noteworthy and there are definitely more menu items I would like to come back and try. The service has room for improvement which was my reason for the 4 Star rating.

Eggplant Rollatini

I'll be generous and go with 4 stars but this was really like 3.5. We enjoyed their $1 oysters and our entrees. I had the eggplant rollatini and my fiancé had a salad with shrimp. My cocktail (blood orange martini) was tasty but my fiancé was underwhelmed with his pisco sour. So while we liked the food, there were some small flaws that made this not really a 4 star place. Chipped paint on some walls. The bathroom had both the paper towels and the toilet paper off the rolls, just sitting on fixtures. Service was okay but not particularly warm or friendly. I've wanted to try this place for a long time but it didn't live up to the high ratings, IMO. I'd come back for drinks and oysters maybe but am not running back.

Jaela y ceviche

Came here at odd hour at 3 pm on monday for late lunch. We are the only customers. Chill relaxing ambiance We got free bruschetta with tomato on top. Super refreshing. Their empanada is excellent. It's similar with croissant but with fillings. I also ordered JALEA Y CEVICHE (Fried shrimp, scallops, fish, calamari, ceviche mayo, yuca fries, salsa criolla, traditional cheviche) it's a huge main serving, lucky that we share that. It ended up as assorted of appetizer for us. Their chevice is super awesome ! The only thing that's a bit meh is their yuca fries.

Stopped by recently for lunch and had a positive experience. The food was really good. Service was on point as well even though it was pretty busy. Drinks were great also. Would definitely return when/if in the area.

Octopus appetizer

This restaurant was fairly easy to find, with plenty of parking available. We were greeted right away when we walked in, and seated at a booth by the window. The color scheme and decor have more of a Peruvian flair with Italian accents, and the menu is a pleasant mix of both. As a complimentary starter, the server brought two pieces of bruschetta, which were warm, and very flavorful. We started with the octopus appetizer (so excited to see this on the menu), which was delicious. It's wood grilled, with huacatay sauce, roasted potatoes, and an arugula onion salad. So delicious, flavorful, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. For lunch, I had the fettuccine a la huancayna, which was phenomenal - homemade pasta, pancetta, aji Amarillo cream sauce - it's a slightly spicy yellow pepper sauce that is very flavorful and dynamic. My mom had the chicken saltimboca, which came with asparagus, tasty fingerling potatoes, plenty of prosciutto and spinach, in a Marsala sauce. It was also very good. Looking forward to coming back here and trying more of the menu!

Branzino

Only disappointment is we made reservations for 7 pm Wednesday because of the $1 oysters which states 4 pm to close, well they ran out table next to us ordered the last 3 dozen oysters left. Bummer. Drink & Food were good we each had the smoked bourbon old fashioned, delicious. We shared the wood grilled octopus appetizer, very good. Dinner he had the steak tips and I had the branzino both dinners were good. They offer seating outside it was a lovely evening to dine outside. Our server,Patricia, was very attentive and friendly. If you want $1 oysters dine early on Wednesdays!,

A very kind courtesy of the chef! bruscetta with tomatoes, cheese, garilc and bread

We've always had enjoyable food at Tumi, year after year. Perhaps there are better places on the Cape, but the truly kind and accommodating staff, outdoor patio (where we can dine with our no-longer-so-little canine Little One), and the restaurant's speed when they know we are on a tight schedule to catch the Nantucket ferry is an absolutely winning combination for us. I always gravitate towards the ceviche, which comes in several different combinations so you can choose your own adventure (shrimp, classico, mixto, etc...). They are always deliciously prepared (not over "cooked" / marinated) in delicious leche de tigre, served with a bit of sweet potato, cancha, choclo. I have a hard time ordering something other than the ceviche because it's so well done. Also on repeat: the Peruvian empanadas, which have an almost croissant like crust quite unlike the empanadas we typically see in NYC. These are generously filled with chicken. Lomo saltado comes with beef and fries served separately, which of course keeps the fries from becoming soggy, but isn't the same as the dish we have at home where fries (generally stale, leftover ones) are sauteed with the beef and vegetables, soaking in all that flavor. No matter. The beef was tender and juicy in this dish, the fries crisp. The primary consumer enjoyed. The burger than one kiddo ordered was enormous, the thick patty cooked to our requested medium. I personally didn't love the flimsy bun, which quickly disintegrated underneath its burden (not just the patty, but a few heavy sauces, lettuce and tomato, cheese), but the primary consumer enjoyed. Wines by the glass are reasonably priced and my prosecco went nicely with the ceviche. We made it to the ferry with time to spare. Thanks again, Tumi!!!

Tres leches
Kim N.

Very nice ambiance! Linda was great and answered our questions well. Really enjoyed the chicken thigh skewers app. For our main we had the branzino and the pasta amarilla (we swapped out the penne for the housemade fettucini). Followed with tres leches for dessert. Delicious food! We will be back!

Lamb Osso Bucco
Melody N.

We landed here to take a break from all the fried seafood we had been indulging on. We enjoyed the ceviche which was flavorful and citrusy. The empanadas pastry was nice and flaky but thought the chicken was a little dried inside. My husband and I shared the lamb osso bucco which was flavorful and fall off the bone tender. Would recommend getting reservations as the restaurant filled up quickly around 6pm for a party of three on a Thursday.

Salvadoreña Food & Market - Thick tortillas for carne asada

Salvadoreña Food & Market

I could've sworn I'd written a prior review and added this business -- but maybe I've finally…read morecracked. Places like this Salvadorean mini market make my heart go pitter patter. It's an island on an island, stocked with a taste of home for many. There's loroco in jars, loroco frozen, baked goods, fresh avocados, many kinds of fresh quesos, masa, dried beans, guanabana drinks, candy, health food products / medication, lottery tickets and cigarettes. The store can help you wire money to loved ones far away and really seems to serve as a community hub in so many ways. I go every year for my pupusa fix. You'll want to call ahead for them since they make them to order and they take about 20 minutes. Or you can get them from the freezer case to make at home (about $10 for a four pack). I picked up a daily special of carne asada on a recent visit, which came with white rice; a whole pickled jalapeno; two thick, Salvadoran style tortillas; black beans; grilled scallions; and iceberg lettuce / tomato / cucumber / lime. The carne was reasonably tender, but definitely not something one should try to attack with a plastic knife and fork. It's the kind of place that makes me feel embarrassed that I speak Spanish on a Sesame Street level since everyone is a native speaker -- but folks are awfully nice nonetheless. Service runs on island time, or even a bit slower, but no one seems to get upset. This place is such a treasure.

I heard so many good things about this place, but it was all lies! Just had the worst experience…read morethere and will never go back. I went for their current advertised Lobster roll special at $23.99. Ordered Exactly as advertised and was charged $25.99. I asked first if it was all claw and knuckle or if they use tail meat too. Oh, definitely both , she exclaimed! I found one small mangled piece of tail at the bottom and it included a sharp piece of shell that hurt my tongue. I told them and showed her the shell. All she did was explain how they try to get it all but they just can't sometimes. I looked at her and said that they aren't doing it right. I asked if she was going to offer me a partial refund and she refused. The Lobster bisque was not a bisque and I don't think there was any lobster in the kitchen when it was made, much less in the pot!! Cole slaw was covered in spicy pepper and neither of us could eat it. Fries were meh! My husband had the fried scallop platter and they were overcooked and super greasy. Disgustingly so. I DK why people like this place but there are so many good places around here where you can get a full service meal, in a real restaurant cooked by real trained chefs and served by professionals who know how to make consumers happy. Total bill with tip was $84.07!!! For a crappy meal with no service and not a clue about customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this garbage.
