Love the food and atmosphere! The best pizza and the kale pesto salad is out of this world!

Julien's has now become my "go to spot" for pizza. We just finished our "Wednesday Special", an Extra Large Cheese Pizza, for $12. Where are you going to find an XL pizza for $12? The pizza was perfectly cooked and had the right amount of sauce and cheese. I detect a nice "sharpness", which leads me to believe there is a decent amount of Romano being used. This pizza is the closest thing you will find in the area, that resembles a NYC / Bronx pizza. It reminds me of the pizza I used to get, when I was a child, on Broadway at a pizzeria that sold slices from a small take out window, where you'd hand the guy a dollar and you'd get a slice and a can of Hoffman's soda! Whoever is making these pies, knows what they are doing. Pizza seems like it is an easy thing to make, but anyone who has tried, knows it takes a lot of skill to turn out consistent pies. Julien's offers many different toppings and specialty pies on their menu. They also do, believe it or not, SUSHI! I have had their sushi in the bar that they run. Pretty decent and the prices were fair, considering you are in Millbrook. This place is simply amazing. I was passing through the area and got my order for curbside pick-up. I can't speak to the ambiance, but the service was communicative and speedy. The food was just incredible. I got the Elm Drive Roll and it was absolutely loaded and worth the price. read more

I do not understand why this place gets so many positive reviews. i took my wig there for her birthday. To start out I had a beer and the waitress spilled in on my pants and table and didn't even wipe the table which was soaked and the bottom of the glass was soaked and she didn't give me a napkin or coaster. My wife started with wine . The wine list is pathetic. We ordered an appetizer and the waitress brought out my wife fries at the same time . When we explained that we would like to finish our appetizer before she brought out the rest of our order the waitress said everything comes out once . Which is absolutely unacceptable in any dining experience. The fries would have been cold by the time we finished our appetize . So instead of telling thr cook to make a new batch she put them under a heat lamp . When she brought them out again they warm on top and cool and soggy underneath. Than the waitress brought my entree before we finished our appetizer. My wife ordered a salad my entree was terrible greasy with tough chicken. My wife's salad was lame . We got out of there as soon as we could . When we got to our vehicle we were completely blocked in because they bring out their take out through a side door on the street so we were surrounded by people picking up their take out orders . So I had to get out and ask one to move . At first he refused to open his window . Luck my wife said she had a good time . I think she was just being kind to me . My new favorite place. I can go on about this but honestly I got to get inn the shower before they close. Lol. Small town restaurants have 2 great things. One is that they take pride in their food and they have local customers who have no problem letting them know if they're not on point. Welcome wNY! I found out at Julien's from a vegan version of Yelp when visiting my friend that lives in Amenia. I am from Westchester County where they have loads of vegan options. The first time I saw this place was last year, so I've been wanting to go for almost a year now and I'm so happy I finally stopped by! I got a few of the options to get a round of what they offer and OMG...it felt like I was in NYC getting this. And this place isn't even all-vegan, it's almost like they are with how fresh everything is from all the rolls to the pizza and the bubble tea is great for what it is. This is by far my favorite restaurant of all time . For years i have been going here . Food is always so fresh and they change up the menu periodically which is refreshing. Its mY families go to spot and favorite restaurant by far . Love the Pesto Pizza and the Pig and Cow. Freshest Sushi out of any place we have went to. So amazing. Very unique food. After seeing a review in Chronogram we gave this place a try . Never judge a book bY it's cover as Juliens looks like a small pizza parlor nothing fancy. It is truly a gastro delight with both pizza and fresh sushi ( made right there ) . The food is fresh and locally sourced. I had the poutine for an appetizer and a bacon and meatball pizza . 3 things to know about this place: 1. Not a typical pizzaria. They offer thin crust, speciality pizza 2. A lot of vegetarian option and gluten free crust available 3. Self seating, casual atmosphere I've been wanting to try this place for a while and we finally came here on a Friday evening as party of 5 adults & 3 child. The inside is not big, but had plenty of seating. Once we seated ourselves, a lady came by to take our orders (that good because I thought we had to order at the counter). They have children's menu at $7 and have beer in bottles (nothing fancy, just the basics). We had the eggplant wings as starter and boy they are good! 6 Thick half circle slices of eggplant, breaded, fried, and coated with spicy, tangy wing sauce with blue cheese crumbles. Yum!! We had to order 2 of those as they were so delicious. We split an extra large mushroom pie between all of us. The topping as a blend of various mushrooms and cheese. Instead of tomato sauce base, it had mushroom sauce. It wasn't the typical pie, but we liked it a lot. The kids shared an order of chicken fingers with fries and hot dogs. Came with juice/milk. It was plenty & the fries were good. The service was a bit slow, but they only had 2 people working the front. And with the size of our party, I don't blame them. All in all we had a great meal and took home the free order of garlic knots from Yelp check in. What a good addition to Millbrook Restaurant scene! p.s. Read before order!! Horrible! Im local person. Ordered here and supported small business always. They tell me 40 mins. Fine. I get there (this is now second time this has happened), i wait another 30mins!! Like my time isn't valuable? I inquire. She says, ready... it's hot in there & the kids.... NEVER sorry. Finally order comes out. Tea has only couple iced cubes left. NEVER SAYS SORRY about extra wait. Poor poor customer service!! Bring it home. Salad lettuce is warm. My fig pizza. Well, virtually no fig. This place has gone downhill & doesn't care about their customers. No apology or anything. Hell with this place. Julien's is a great addition to the Millbrook restaurant scene. It's a small, charming restaurant in an unassuming building. Usually we order takeout, but it is a pleasant spot to dine as well. The food is just great. They have basic Italian foods, but so much more! My husband always gets the chicken parm or a delicious cheesy pizza. I have tried their salads, hummus pita, and fried artichokes and Brie: really special. I do enjoy their eggplant parm and they always substitute grilled eggplant for breaded which is not always available in many restaurants. I saw a criticism of the length of time it takes to prepare your order, BUT THAT HAS CHANGED! It now takes 15 to 25 minutes at most. Besides, it really is worth a wait. I encourage everyone to give Julien's try. I am so happy we did. I am never disappointed. read more

i would like to start this by saying i've only been coming here since January, and it has not disappointed in any way. I only get sushi when i come here and let me tell you the sushi is to die for, big rolls with lots of filling. The workers are so kind, especially the lady who runs the food out to the costumers that are waiting. Everytime i come here i always get the same thing and again it has not disappointed me. I would also like to say that Millbrook is not right around the corner for me and it's a little bit of a hike to get there, but i make that drive just for this food. How can Julien's be SO GOOD at so many different kinds of food??? Tonight we ordered Sushi, both fish and vegetarian rolls and sushimi. Every bite was super fresh and delicious. Love the sweet potato roll, the avocado crisp wasabi roll and California roll. Also the edamame really hit the spot. In addition to sushi, Julien's also has incredible pizza (Caprese and Village are our 2 favorites). Great crust and toppings are perfection. They must use a very high quality cheese because even the plain cheese pizza is phenomenal. If you want another option, the homemade pasta is AMAZING! You can tell it's homemade and the primavera is the best! There are many other options at Julien's so everyone can find something for whatever they're craving. We have had our fair share of veggie buffalo wings over the years but the eggplant buffalo wings here are easily the MOST amazing veggie wings we have ever had. DO. NOT. GO HERE! I was in Milbrook and wanted some quick food. Saw Julien's and we stopped. We just ordered a normal medium cheese pizza. The wait took about 45 minutes, maybe more. The staff were rude to us about it. When we asked about our pizza, the young woman said something along the lines of "You don't need to keep asking". Rude! We Got takeaway wing special. Very polite staff, good prices, speedy. Unfortunately the wings were just not up to par. They were not cooked enough in my opinion, I like a more well done wing, not slimy at all. We got buffalo and Jamaican curry. The buffalo were just ok, the Jamaican had raw dry curry powder tossed on cooked wings, it really tasted like I went to my spice drawer grabbed curry powder and put a tablespoon on top of cooked wings. I could only get through two. That being said we will give the pizza a try at some point, it looked good according to other reviewers.
