Jules has people raving about it and it's nicely situated in the Haight, so we figured we'd give it a try. Wait for a walk-in table for 2 was rough. We dropped by and it ended up being about 2 hours. We stuck around since we were only about a 5 min walk away, but never got a call or text back, so we just came back at 1.5 hours and they sat us right away. Not sure if they're not great about calling/texting when a table opens up or if we just got lucky with timing and ended up at the communal table. Service itself was prompt and attentive once we were seated, which seemed to be the walk in table compared to all the other tables with reservations around us. There isn't a crazy amount of seating at the restaurant. They gave us recommendations and checked in a few times, though with how busy it gets you might not get their attention right away. 3/5 The Satriale Special (without sausage) was okay. The flavors worked, but I wished there was more sauce. I could see the sausage version feeling even drier with how crispy the crust already is. 3.5/5 Field Dream was better. You could really taste the corn and the pesto. It came out a bit chewier too, though that was more from sogginess than the crust itself. 2.5/5 Bay Leaf Ice Cream had too strong of an alcohol flavor (or whatever it was) going on. The ice cream itself was unique and nice, but they'd do well to bring that sauce level down. Also felt pricey for what it was. All the pizzas leaned too crispy for me, which meant the sourdough never really got to shine. I talked to a few other people who'd been and they felt the same, so it's not just us. Some people might genuinely prefer it that way, but if you're after more flavor or a chewier crust, go in with that expectation. Pretty expensive for what you get, though clearly the demand says otherwise. Worth a visit once if you're curious, especially if you can snag a reservation, but not somewhere I'm rushing back to.
I had been wanting to try Jules when I visited Sam Francisco again, since it was a pretty hyped up and popular new spot. Reservations here still seem a bit tougher to get, compared to some other food establishments, but I had no issue booking the one month in advance for a desirable day and time. As far as pizza goes, I can understand the criticism of the char and cook on the crust/dough not being everyone's cup of tea. I personally like it, and I do enjoy a nice crunch from a slightly burnt crust/bread. Maybe that makes me weird, but I enjoyed the style of pizza here. I wasn't blown away, thinking this was the best pizza ever, but I like this rendition of it and would try another couple different options from the menu on a return trip in the future. The Satriale Special was an interesting, Korean-influenced pizza that caught my eye upon looking at the menu. I'm sad I couldn't try the Funyun pizza, but this one was pretty good. I am a fan of Korean pizzas, like ones with gochujang and kimchi, and this one was done well. There was definitely the taste of sweet spice and the green onion topping was a nice touch. Be aware that this pizza does not really have cheese on it. The Spicy Ronny was tasty in its own way, though I felt was more akin to other spicy sausage pizzas I've had from other pizza joints. This one had a bit more cheese, more pepperoni, and was a nice, safe option for pizza. It is a pizza you really can't go wrong ordering. I think what stood out a lot for me was the dessert. Grandma Jules' Fruit Bowl was great! The two watermelon sorbet scoops, tajin, and plum-like peaches were a good value at $12, in my opinion. It was tasty, refreshing, and light enough to still put away after eating a bunch of pizza. Would definitely recommend this! As far as service goes, everyone seemed nice enough. I felt that the general vibe is modern, youthful, and trendy. It feels like a poppin' spot, and it is one. The space inside is small, so reservations or take out seem to be the options on how to have the best experience here. I will say that it was noticeable that nobody who worked here seemed to care too much about talking to my friend or I at our table. I observed that lady who was walking around and taking orders seemed a lot more chatty and friendly with the tables to the left and right of us, asking if they were there for special a special occasion, how they were doing, inquiring if they had questions about the menu, etc. We didn't get much of anything in that regard. We kind of just got the "What do you want?" straight to the point type of treatment the whole time, other than one person asking if we wanted to order dessert. Ultimately, it's fine, as I'm mainly there to eat and then leave. A bit weird though. Maybe service is just a bit inconsistent because it's busy. I give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I think this spot is worth trying if you like pizza that's a bit different. I also think it's worth trying if you enjoy more creative, changing/seasonal takes on pizza toppings. If you aren't into a charred/slightly burnt crust, it does not appear this place will be for you.
A relatively new spot that I think their roots started with popups with new takes on the tradition styles of pizza. This place easily elevates the pizza scene in the Bay Area with arguably better pies than some places in NYC as it isn't nearly as greasy while the crust stays intact and maintains its shape when lifted up I won't say that I'm a particular fan of any style of pizza but my general preferences lean towards less greasy like ones where you need a napkin to hold, and drier styles where the pizza isn't soggy or can barely hold its structure when you lift it up so take that as you will If that style matches then Jules is definitely one of the top pizza shops I've had. It has a great balance of flavors where each blend harmoniously while not overpowering any particular ingredient. The Fun Guy pizza was arguably my group's favorite with their black garlic tamarind sauce being innovative with the right amount of savory umami that just adds a little brightness to the pizza Their take on the classic margherita is equally as great and their Field Dream is maybe a more unique style with corn mixed with nuggets of cherry-sized tomatoes and pesto which melded together surprisingly well. It had a relatively lighter bite but equally as filling One thing not pictured was their meatballs to which may be the least impressive dish as it felt a little too non-traditional with the meatball having the consistency of a firm meatball where the integrity of the meatball held its shape after each bite. Myself, along with my group seemed to prefer the more crumbly styled meatballs you might typically get at a classic Italian place but it was still tasty just not quite what we were expecting As for service we didn't eat in so can't speak there but came on a Sat around opening time at 5 PM to which seating was already filled and waits for dining in was around 1.5 hours (90 min) so we opted to order to go and hang out nearby which still took an hour. If there's one suggestion it is to order before picking up or come early to get a table. The space inside seemed to maybe be able to fit around 40 people with some small tables outside but the take out experience is still just as comparable in my experience A solid recommendation if you can accommodate for the long sit down time or order ahead before picking up. Definitely a contender for some of the best pizza I've ever experienced including the likes of some from NYC
Maybe the best pizza in the city? Maybe the best pizza I've ever had? The Field Dream was incredibly creative and unique. The Satriale was amazing and my favorite overall. And the Drunken Sailor was really good and saucy. As far as not pizza goes, the cabbage was also great. Along with nice service and ambiance, you can't go wrong with Jules. If you only have the chance to go to one pizza place in this city, this should be it.
My friend wanted to try Jules after seeing them on the NY Times restaurant recommendation list. Four of us came here for Saturday dinner right when they opened (we had no reservations and there were several people in line right before 5 pm). We shared the charred cabbage, heirloom tomatos and salmon toast for appetizers. For pizzas, we chose the field dream (corn, mozzarella, tomatoes), fun guy (lots of mushrooms) and the satriale special (gochujang sauce, Italian sausage). For dessert, we shared the blueberry bay leaf ice cream and made it a pizookie. Everything was great. I love mushroom pizzas so the fun guy was my favorite. I also really loved the crust on their pizzas. Food-wise, this is definitely 5 stars. Service was also good. We were seated at the community table and that was good. The restaurant is on the charming, rustic side. With tax and tip, this was about $55 per person. It's great value and highly recommended if you are in the area.
Loved this place. This place was on my list for a while, but when I watched the recent Bon Appétit YouTube video, I really wanted to try it. Made reservations a week in advance for a Tuesday night. Interesting to have reservations ob door dash, but whatever, it worked. Hostess was very nice and seated us right away. Place was packed on a Tuesday night. We ordered the Marone and Spicy Ronnie. The pizza here is very crispy and done. Not your typical pizza done. This is more of my style when it is charred on the bottom. One of my favorite pizza places in the city.
So, i decidedly just do not like sourdough as a pizza crust. It's my opinion, but i firmly believe they belong separate and distinct from one another. That said that wasn't the only thing lacking here. The pizza was SUPER crispy and charred - and probably honestly down right burnt. If that's how they like to do it here that's fine but i did not like it. The burnt taste takes away from the taste. Also, you shouldn't have to char it so much to get a great undercarriage. Overall the flavors were just lacking. We got the spicy roni and one other. Both were just fine. The best thing we got was probanly the Caesar salad. The house wine was also quite mid. The server was fantastic but there was probably a 25+ minute lag between appetizer and pizza. Def wouldn't come again. Not worth the price or the hype. Worth trying for yourself, though.
Service was great. All the stars for that. Ice cream dessert was great The pizza was meh. Not that thats bad just the curse of some randos with the brand clout of Bon Apetitte saying they are one of the best new restaurants in 'merica. Pizza was fine. The garlic was a nice touch. Enjoyed what we had but not something Im looking forward to again. Meatballs were salty af, but this maybe just me. My blood pressure is still recovering Green sauce was interesting but felt more like a distraction than a cohesive experience modifier. Drinks were tasty. The bread and butter was delicious. Salad was nice. The rotating starters are the most interesting on the menu and I'd come back for that if im feeling adventurous. If you dont have reservations get their early for walk in seats. We had been pretty excited to try Jules and came for a dinner with a friend in town. It was pretty hard to get reservations and we heard the host tell a walk-in it would be a 2-hour wait for a table at 5:30pm - yikes! The beginning started off good, with the miso carrots definitely being a star (delicious!). But once the pizzas came out, we weren't impressed. I wouldn't consider myself a pizza connoisseur by any means, but they were all just... okay. Nothing amazing, nothing stand-out (as compared to other better pizza places of similar style). They also forgot our mushroom pizza so it came out pretty late after we had finished eating and the crust was pretty blackened. Service was also fine, maybe a little standoffish. After the meal, we decided that a wait would not have been worth it. Honestly a little disappointed and very 'whelmed. There are other great pizza spots in the city worth checking out! Not sure I would come back again.
YES! Get that Jules reservation! We tried the "Fun Guy" and "The Satriale Special" -- both were INCREDIBLE The fun guy is your classic mushroom pizza but with a black garlic tamarind sauce. I have never tried this combination before and was pleasantly surprised by how well the flavors complement one another. The satriale special is a gochujang vodka sauce base that carries a kick! The pickled goat horn peppers brought a tangy punch, spring onions & sesame crumble brought crunch -- this was a pizza for the senses!
Visited on a Friday around 5:45pm with a friend, restaurant interior was full but we were lucky and got the last outdoor table. If you decide to try to walk in definitely go early or try to snag a reservation before visiting. Drinks: Strawberry Amaro - pretty good, nice lightly sweetened, subtle strawberry notes, grabbed this with soda for a lovely bubbly low abv drink Saison - solid, nice subtle citrus notes, Food: Grilled Arrowhead Cabbage- really good, great subtle char, cabbage was tender, loved the crunchy and nutty pumpkin seeds, the chili butter added a bit of heat and the gremolata added some fresh herby lemony note Spicy Ronny - solid, a bit oily for my taste, crust was crispy with a well baked bottom and a toasty flavor, pepperoni was excellent crispy cups that were very flavorful with a nice heat, tomato sauce was bright and fresh with rich tomato flavor, wish the crust had a bit more flavor didn't pick up any tangy sourdough notes, maybe it needed a touch more salt something felt lacking Service was fine, water bottle and glasses were provided when we got seated, drinks and apps were served pretty promptly. Staff is not the most attentive but given how busy it was and being seated outside understandable. They did ask if we wanted fresh plates between apps and pizza which was nice. Pizza did take quite a bit of time before we got our order maybe 25-30min after we were seated. So be prepared to wait. Overall glad I finally got to try Jules, solid pizza but wouldn't go out of my way to visit lots of other great spots in SF. Arrive early if you want to try to walk in, seemed like they do quite a bit of takeout as well if you aren't able to snag a
Finally able to more easily get reservations so got a 5:15 table on Friday, and by 5:30 the restaurant was full! Small corner table, cute interior, and great staff! I have to say I do get the hype, I definitely tasted the sourdough on the pizza. We had the fun guy - wow 9/10 for me. It was delicious, crispy, flavour bomb! The crust was SO GOOD. Only comment is it's very oily not sure if it's truffle oil but it was dripping out I had to squeeze some out. Friend had the Satriale special - same comment, FLAVOUR BOMB! This one is neat, and they said that the crust was a bit more burnt and dry than the other but still gave it a 9/10. I totally understand what people say when they say it's a bit salty but it wasn't overwhelmingly salty. You need to pay extra for sauces we had the green sauce and the chilli crisps. Honestly, I don't think it's necessary to get the sauces, especially because you have to pay for them. The pizzas are already so flavourful that even the sauces taste delicious I just don't think it paired well. Maybe with the ones that we got maybe would be better with the margarita pizza. I'll say it again, I understand the hype really delicious pizza.
Jules is still packed even after having been open for a while, and for good reason. The food here is delicious, and it's always a good time to go out with friends and spend the whole time commenting on how good the food is. price: ~$30/person recs: fun guy pizza, burnt date + black sesame ice cream - Fun Guy Pizza: Like a creamy mushroom soup on a super, super thin sourdough crust that contrasts well with the tartness from the black garlic tamarind sauce drops - Dr. Robotnik Pizza: A delicious red pie that is savory and tart from the tomato sauce and vinegar eggplant but gets a nice freshness from the basil - Nori Guanciale Pull Apart Buns: Wasn't too memorable to me, although I did enjoy the smoked trout roe in butter (so unique) - Charred Arrowhead Cabbage: Texturally interesting from the softness of the cabbage and the crunch from the pumpkin seeds. Will probably make you feel better after one too many slices of pizza? Seems like the menu rotates occasionally, so I'd definitely come back and try new renditions of flavors in the future. :) read more
Great pizza, appetizer, drinks, and service. I was able to snag a last minute reservation with the Notify Me on Resy. Allow extra time to find street parking as it can be tough (had to circle around for about 15 minutes). Not necessarily sure if I'd wait in line for it (maybe if I lived close by), but definitely worth a try! There were already around 5 parties arriving right at 4:55pm and earlier on Saturday. We were able to get seated at a two seater facing the outside window, which was nice and more private than the two seaters along the wall of the restaurant. As others have said, it is a bit hot inside the restaurant so make sure you dress appropriately. We ordered the cabbage, spicy Ronny, and the burnt date. The cabbage was a nice blend of smoky burnt edges and nutty crunch from the pumpkin seed. The spicy Ronny was great as well - I wish it came with sausage, but I always prefer some sort of meat on my pizza. The crust was crunchy but still had a nice chew to it. Only a mild spice too, which helped the overall flavor. Paired with the ranch, it was even better. The burnt date ice cream was different - for some reason it reminded me of a very light peanut butter ice cream. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chocolate as it was a bit too sweet, but the dessert was still good and refreshing. read more

So far, one of my favorite pizza places in the city. Jules has a unique assortment of pizzas, but they also have some spins on classics. I liked the wine pairings and options that they had. Really went well with the slices I tried. An elevated way to have pizza without feeling like you miss the comfortable and cozy feeling of consuming pizza. The nori guanciale pull apart bun was delicious. The bready was so pillowy. A good umami, savory taste. The uni butter was so good. Like the saltiness of it. Tried the Fun Guy. The crust was good, and I liked the assortment of mushrooms. The 111 Hester was interesting. The Szechuan peppercorns made it numbing. It was a jarring feeling given that a pizza was the cause of it. However, I wasn't amazed by it. Overall, I would come back. Maybe for takeout if that's figured out yet. Definitely interesting rotation of pizzas. read more
After waiting awhile to book and get into this place, I finally found a reservation on Resy. It was a Tuesday night and I was facing the kitchen. The ambience is so-so to needs improvement. The one light by the kitchen vs the ambient light elsewhere made it hard to see anything. It actually hurt my eyes. We ordered a summer salad and two pizzas - Spicy Ronny or spicy pepperoni and Funghi or mushroom. We also got a hot honey dip. Both pizzas were nice though the mushroom pizza looked more burned (see photo) The service was good. We had a young lady wait on us. She was good but busy since she was doing other things like glasses so when we were ready to pay, we had to waive at her. Other than that very pleasant. read more

Is it worth the hype? Sure. Were the dipping sauces the star of the meal? Yes. Finally snagged a reservation and enjoyed my meal. The pizza was great. My favorite was the pepperoni although the mushroom pizza was also very good. The service was meh probably because they were pretty busy. However, not turned off and will definitely come back. read more

Was finally able to snag a reservation here thanks to the Resy "Notify Me" list! I had tried to come by a few weeks ago as a walk-in on a Friday and the wait was over 2 hours. Definitely recommend using the Resy list because I'm here to say that it actually works! I was so excited to come back a few Fridays later and actually have a table this time. We started with the charred cabbage and crudo appetizers. The cabbage was the standout! I would 100% order two of those next time . And then... the pizzas. WOW. Some of the best I've had in SF (and honestly anywhere). We got the classic Marone and the seasonal summer corn pizza. The Marone totally exceeded my expectations. So simple but somehow packed with so much flavor. We also got the sauce flight for dipping crust, but I ended up drizzling them all over my slices. The sauces were insane. The space is beautifully decorated and has a great vibe! It would be a super cute date spot. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying their fall seasonal pizza. Today was the last day for the summer one so I'm glad I made it just in time! read more

Fun pizza spot, busy with food that comes out fresh and hot! Sort of a tough reservation to get at a prime time for dinner but I think they do take a few walk-ins. The Cesar salad comes super dressed, and the crust of the pizza is well sauced and crunchy. read more

There's so many good things I've heard about this place so I had to come with a friend to check it out. Made a reservation for 8:15 PM on a Wednesday, and we got seated in a tiny corner table next to the window. Service was good but the staff were very busy so no one ever refilled our waters, and it was hard to get their attention. The restaurant is fairly dim and the tables are narrow, so this could be a very good date night spot. We got the Charred Arrowhead Cabbage, the Spicy Ronny Pizza, and the Burnt Date & Black Sesame Ice Cream. All were standout choices! Charred Arrowhead Cabbage: 5/5, I thought this was going to be more underwhelming but it was incredible! The spicy sauce and crunch of the seeds really jazzed up this roasted cabbage. It really transformed this ordinary vegetable! Spicy Ronny Pizza: 4/5, I love it when the pepperoni slices curl up in cups. The peppers add a mild spice that elevated it. The crust was also perfectly crisp and robust enough to support the toppings. Burnt Date & Black Sesame Ice Cream: 5/5, this was so good! The flavor combination was phenomenal, and I loved the chocolate shell. The smokiness and sweetness of the date flavor really complemented the earthiness of the sesame. I really enjoyed my meal here with my friend. It was full of surprises and delights flavor-wise. Looking forward to coming again! read more

So worth consistently refreshing their Resy page to snag an open time for a reservation! Would highly recommend making a reservation rather than doing a walk-in since I read wait times can be up to 2 hours... insane! A tip that worked for me on getting a reservation is to just keep checking their Resy. I found that last minute cancellations would come up pretty often, so if you're lucky and happen to catch the page at the right time, you'll be able to get something for the next day or even day of :D What we ordered: - Nori Guanciale Pull Apart Buns - Spicy Ronny Pizza (no cheese) + Sauce Flight (obviously!) - Devilish Half Chicken - Burnt Date & Black Sesame Ice Cream Highlights were definitely the Spicy Ronny pizza, and you have to get the sauce flight to try, as well as the Half Chicken! Each sauce in the sauce flight was super unique and paired so well with the pizza! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked each sauce, but my favorite was probably the Thai Green Sauce. The Spicy Ronny was absolute perfection. No notes there except next time I go, I'm getting that exact pizza again! The Half Chicken was also amazing - so so juicy, literally not one dry bite at all, and the veggies and gravy-like sauce paired with it was perfectly seasoned and balanced. The Nori Guanciale Buns were also delicious and super fluffy on the inside, but I'm not sure if I would absolutely demand for it to be ordered again. The best way I could describe these buns would be that they give more "wheat-bread" than fluffy Parker Roll bread. As for dessert, unfortunately, I'd skip it. The Date & Black Sesame Ice Cream was very date-forward, so if you like the taste of dates and the texture of them, you may love this. But for my girlfriend and I who are more chocolate and black sesame girls, the ice cream didn't have much sesame flavor (it honestly tasted like vanilla ice cream with a ton of dates mixed in) and the chocolate shell was a nice add, but the star of the show was definitely the dates. read more

Pretty solid pizza shop that's been hyped up a bunch on social media. We had a reservation for Friday night but didn't get seated till after 20 minutes. Aside from that, the service was alright throughout our visit. There isn't a ton of seating inside but it's a nice cozy vibe. We started with the Pecorino Garlic Fingers and I thought that it was alright, nothing too special. For the pizza, we got a variety but I wanted to call out The Satriale Special and Spicy Ronny with hot honey as the two favorites. You can definitely taste the sourdough and the ingredients leaned towards the salty side. I think it was overall a good experience but I would probably just get it to go or wait for the hype to die down before coming back. read more
Hmm honestly not sure what the hype is about this spot. I arrived 5 minutes before they opened and was able to snag a table for an hour. Reservations open two weeks in advance and I wouldn't make the effort to book that far in advance to come back. We ordered the Charred Arrowhead to start which was good. It was a heavier entree. Next up was the Fun Guy pizza. The pizza was sopping with oil and the mushroom flavor could have been more intense. A bit disappointing as everyone has been raving about this pizza spot. read more
The most vibey pizza place in SF. We got the pepperoni and Caesar salad. Pizza was so flavorful and had a great crust. The Caesar was one the best I've had. Everything was perfect: dressing ratio, parm, croutons. It was really hard to get a reservation but it makes sense. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu! read more

Got the Spicy Ronny. If I'm going by the Bay Area, then this is probably the best thing+crispy pizza around. A very very comfortable 8.8/10. For those who know Junes Pizza in Oakland, I would say this place is definitely better (while cheaper). Expect the thinnest pizza humanly possible. I personally liked it, but would prefer slightly thicker. Zero flop. Super crispy (slightly burnt) crust--which was the highlight. Body of the slice was slightly crispy, noticeably chewy. There wasn't a ton of sauce, which they probably had to since it's so thin. Consistency-wise, I like the lack of a ton of toppings, but I also think that the pizza lacked a bit of flavor. Getting the hot garlic honey with it helps, but i wanted to taste more of the tomato and cheese. Bit hard to get reservation the day of, but was able to get it for pickup. Totally recommend this place. read more

Came here on a weeknight for 2 people and was told a 2.5/3 hour walk in wait! Good thing the takeout was only 20 min wait. So glad we opted for that since the pizza was delicious. Spicy Ronny actually packed a good punch of spice and the Hester was really unique and delicious. The star was the charred cabbage starter and we would order it time and time again. The crunch of the pumpkin seeds and the spice was amazing. 2 starters and 2 pizzas was plenty for 2 people with larger appetites. Will come again! Recommend a reservation 100% otherwise opt for take out. read more
We were invited by some friends to dinner at Jules. Driving up through rush hour traffic from the South Bay on a Friday night, we were pretty hungry by the time we arrived. By some miracle, I found parking a few car lengths down from the restaurant. Otherwise it would've been very challenging to find a spot. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait a good 20 minutes past our reserved time to get seated. We were seated at the innermost table inside of an expansive dining room with high ceilings and an open kitchen with a wood fire pizza oven. It was quite loud but our friends who go clubbing often have the ability to hear over loud music so we had a surprisingly normal conversation. We placed our entire order all at once. Three pizzas: the Marone, which is basically a traditional Margherita, Drunken Sailor and Dr. Robotnik. We also ordered the Nori Guanciale Pull Apart Buns, some seasonal salad that I'm forgetting the name of, and a sauce flight of four sauces ranging from chili oil to an elevated ranch. The Nori buns came out in a small pair with a side of butter topped with Ikura. There were thin strips of crispy Guanciale baked on top. As I pulled them apart, they were very spongy and moist inside. I just wish there had been a bit more because each couple had to split one. The uniqueness of Jules' pizzas is their sourdough crust. And it definitely had a different character from your typical XX imported flour typically used for Neapolitan pizzas. It was also less dense than I expected for sourdough, which was a positive thing. The tomato sauce on the Drunken Sailor and Dr. Robotnik was delicious and bursting with a tart flavor. The capers and anchovies on the Drunken Sailor were a bit too salty even after sips of my Saison. The Dr. Robotnik was quite complex with vinegared Chinese eggplant and crispy dark purple Opal Basil. With the more buttery and flavorful ranch, it had great flavor and was my favorite pizza among the three that we tried. Having observed several people coming by to pick up pizzas to take out, I think I would probably order to go, as getting a reservation and finding parking is challenging. I appreciated that as we were leaving, Chef Max smiled as he waved goodbye from the kitchen. I waved and smiled back. read more
Ok, I waited one year for the hype to die down and it wasn't dying down! So I waited until midnight to book a reservation, and I finally got to try Jules tonight. I had high expectations for the pizza expecting the crust to blow my mind. I'm going to be honest, it sadly didn't. I didn't taste anything amazing with the crust, toppings were good and the garlic hot honey was real tasty. The stars of the night were the sides. Both the Ceasar and that crab toast was REAL GOOD! that crab toast thing was the favorite of the table, we got 2! read more

Obviously we came in with high expectations because this seems to be SF's hottest reservation at the moment. We got the pull apart buns, the summer salad, the spicy Ronny pizza, and the black sesame and date dessert. The pull apart buns were soft and delicious but it was the spicy ronny that stole the show. The chili oil/pepperoni combo reminded me of another SF pizza favorite (Pink Onion) but the crust was thinner here and I think I prefer Jules's take on it. They also have some really interesting sauces (miso ranch anyone?) so we will definitely be back to try more soon! read more
Got a reservation for 7pm a few weeks in advance. The inside of the restaurant is spacious, but a little loud! For 2 people, we got 2 pizzas (the Field Dreams and the Fun Guy), along with the half chicken. Service was pretty fast. Both pizzas were thin, with a nice doughy crust. I liked the fun guy pizza most - there was a good balance of mushrooms and flavor. The field dreams pizza had corn, but the pesto was overwhelming. The half chicken was amazing! Such tender chicken, in a really delicious sauce that had a kick to it. They also do takeout! read more

Finally managed to get a reservation here and wow it meets the hype. The sourdough crust makes this a true SF pizza that I dare to say would rival many spots even in NYC! The place was nice and cozy and BUSY. Clearly they're still super popular. They have the classic spicy pepperoni, but also some funky and interesting toppings, such as the "Fun Guy" pizza with lots of mushrooms and a black garlic tamarind sauce. And don't sleep on all the sauces you can get on the side! Also their freshly made buns were piping hot and DELICIOUS- a perfect vessel for the bacon, butter, and smoked trout roe Didn't get any drinks, but I appreciated that they came back pretty often to refill out water pitcher read more
Nice interior with a vintage touch! Great selections on the menu of starters and pizza - Summer salad: appreciated the lightly dressed greens, the fiddlehead was such a nice addition and crunch - Meatballs: sauce is flavorful and a nice side to dip crust in! Meatballs were moist and had good mix of lamb flavor - Field dream pizza: a seasonal flavor - loved the corn!! Added a nice sweetness in contrast to the tomato. The basil in the pesto really came through! Crust was perfect crispiness and held up the pizza without a flop read more

Jules absolutely lives up to the hype. The pizzas are over the top in the best possible way, with incredibly creative and delicious flavor combinations that make every bite memorable. Be sure to start with the heirloom tomato appetizer, it was absolutely fantastic and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with fun artwork throughout that gives you something new to admire while you wait. The staff was genuinely delightful, friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. Even with the long wait, it was completely worth it. If you're a pizza aficionado visiting San Francisco, this place is not to be missed. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town! read more
We were able to snag a Saturday dinner reservation so the process was smooth. We got to Jules and were seated within 5 minutes. The ambiance and service was great. The food was good, but was it worth ALL the hype? We tried their: - Yellowtail Crudo $19 - Spicy Ronny $24 - 111 Hester $25 - Tartagon Miso Ranch $3 The crudo was THE STAR of the dinner. It was fresh and had so much flavor while being light at the same time. Would definitely order again. The Spicy Ronny was good but not my favorite and probably wouldn't order again. It had a good flavor and spice level but it was just too greasy and salty for me. The 111 Hester was definitely unique and had a tingly Szechuan flavor. I thought it needed more Chinese bacon though, there was pretty much one tiny piece per slice. Overall, great spot. I would come back to try other starters and pizzas but I wasn't WOW'd by anything except the crudo. Could I tell the difference between sourdough pizza and regular Neapolitan pizza? No. But still delicious read more
Pretty overhyped honestly. The pizzas are pretty small, and there's way too much crust for the amount of ingredients on it. Got the "Fun Guy" and I could barely see or taste any mushrooms. Crust was crispy and held up well, but there wasn't much flavor to the pizza in general. Perhaps their other pizzas will be more interesting, but I'm not impressed with their mushroom pizza. read more

One of the best slices in the city! All of the pizzas were phenomenal cooked and had a great balance of flavors. Salad was phenomenal but i wouldnt get the crudo again. A very laid back vibe, which has its pros and cons. Server was really nice, great tableside service, but the space was a bit too dark and we had to wait a while even though we had a reservation. I'll definitely be back! read more

Food was delicious. Highly recommend the potato buns with burrata. We had the Spicy Ronny with honey + The Satriale Special. Both were fantastic. The Jules Spritz was great too. Sorbet was okay. Ambiance was nothing to write home about but still nice and chill. Service was semi-friendly. The food was memorable though! read more
A wonderful pizza place with reasonable prices (for the pizza); the super-popular chicken is a tad over-priced, even if the peanut-forward sauce is divine. The thin-crust pizzas are cooked quite well, and the portions are perfect (a pizza per person would seem reasonable). Service is still a bit slow - it's the opening few weeks, and the groove is being built. I hate how loud the restaurant is, and the dim lights made it hard for people sitting back to the door (not against the wall) would have a hard time reading the menu. If they did takeout, I'd be there often. read more

I've heard so many good things about this place and was finally able to try it. I thought that there would have been a wait when I went but the restaurant was only half empty! I ordered ahead of time for takeout and chose to try Spicy Ronny and the Satriale Special. I preferred the special over the Ronny since the Ronny was a bit on the saltier side. I also got a side of the green sauce which tasted a little like pesto. Overall, pizza came out quickly after ordering and the taste was delicious! I enjoyed the crust as well and ai don't usually eat crust! read more
Tasty pizza, lovely atmosphere, great service/staff! also got to chat with the owner a bit - he was busy firing up pizzas! we got the spicyroni and the fun guys pizzas. also got the buns (they were out of meatballs). spicyroni pizza - it's actually spicy! crispy pepperoni, thin and light crust. delicious with the hot honey sauce. fun guys pizza - it took me a few seconds to get the play on words! the tamarind black garlic sauce is incredibly umami and delicious! love this pizza with the thai green sauce (like a chimichurri). the buns were very savory - potentially too much with the bacon on top - the butter and trout roe are already salted. very fluffy buns. melted in my mouth. relatively reasonably priced. for the 3 dishes, i paid ~$80 for 2 people. read more
Jules is a strong new addition to the neighborhood. We got the Fun Guy and Spicy Ronny pizzas and both were so good. I'm usually a pepperoni person but I might have liked the mushroom one even more. We also tried the sauce flight which was fun but definitely too much for just two pizzas. The pull-apart buns were insanely soft and spongy. The uni felt a little extra to me since the bread was the real star. The charred arrowhead cabbage was delicious. Service is where they're still figuring things out. We waited 45 minutes past our reservation to get seated and order. Not ideal. But everyone was super nice and clearly trying. They were just slammed. Honestly the food made up for it. Everything we ate was solid and I'm already planning to go back to try more pizzas and that chicken. read more
I was lucky enough to snag a reservation for a Tuesday at 5pm. There was already a line waiting before they opened. We ordered the spicy Ronny, drunken sailor, and chicken. You come to try the pizza but I will be coming back for the chicken. Holy lord. I will dream about this chicken. After the surprise of the chicken I knew I had to try the dessert. The anise ice cream was as perfect balance of sweet and savory that kept me coming back for more. Even though it was a busy dinner service, the wait staff was always attentive and checked in often about our needs. TLDR: Get the chicken, add hot honey on your spicy Ronny, and don't skip the dessert. read more
This just opened up near me in Lower Haight, and as a self-described pizza connoisseur, I had to try incredibly hard to get a reservation here. And it was worth it. It's a small, yet cosy restaurant, the ambiance is welcoming yet refined. And the pizza. We only got pizza, maybe I'll get an appetizer next time, but I was here for one thing and one thing only. Every single pizza was delicious. The star was the pepperoni pizza, added with hot honey. The flavours balanced incredibly. The mushroom is also delicious, the black garlic was a new twist that added a lot of depth and umami. And the cheese pie, which is my benchmark for comparing pizza spots, was great. I wish there was a little more cheese to balance out the sauce, it was slightly more acidic than I would like. The sorbet was decent, but not much more than that. But nonetheless, an easy five stars here for me. One of my favourite pizza spots in the city now, and one I'm lucky to have nearby. read more
I was lucky enough to secure two separate reservations, I loved the crust and had to come back and try more of the menu! The Resy reservation system is competitive, but set notify alerts as there are cancellations that you can snag during the day if you're lucky. Jules does have walk in availability at the counter and there is a communal table as well. Staff was awesome and checked on us through out the meal. Tables for 2 are somewhat small, you do feel a little claustrophobic when all your food arrives lol. I didn't feel as cramped when I came back as a reservation of 4. The nori guanciale pull apart buns are light and fluffy with razor thin strips of crispy guanciale. You can't really detect the nori, but the uni and cultured butter is amazing. I didn't know I needed this combo in my life, wish there was another piece of uni though! Definitely need to try this, but share if you want to save room for pizza! The beef and lamb meatballs were herbaceous and well seasoned, the sauce was great, definitely saved the leftover sauce for crust dipping. Baja yellowtail crudo had a lot going on in a good way. The acidity from the citrus and capers, bite from the onion, a little heat from the chili, and the refreshing shiso leaf blend together in one bite. Charred arrow head cabbage had some heat from the Calabrian chili butter and nice char flavor and texture, but I wouldn't say this dish is a must order. On to the pizzas! The star is definitely the crust, each slice is razor thin and has a nice crisp but not too chewy; the crumb is airy and light. Amazing crunch, pizza is foldable with no flop! Spicy Ronny - it packs some heat, you can also ask to hold the spice. Great pepperoni pizza and would pair well with hot honey or the ranch sauce. Bridge and Fennel - This was my favorite pizza, it was savory and the pickled fennel and sausage was perfect. Drunken Sailor - If you like tomato pies this is right up your alley. We ordered it with the house made mozzarella. The capers and anchovy add a good note of umami to the pizza. Fun Guy - Definitely one of my favorites, and is a must order pizza. It has an interesting medley of mushrooms, but that black garlic tamarind sauce! 111 Hester - I do love ma la spice and wanted to like this pizza, but the SiChuan peppercorn is too forward and you aren't able taste any of the other ingredients sadly. Warning this pie can be a bit too spicy for some. There are additional side sauces you can order, providing a fun choose your own adventure aspect to the meal. The miso ranch is a must order in my opinion. For dessert I tried the grandma Jules fruit cup. A lighter end to a heavy carb filled meal. It was a tad too sweet for my taste, but others might disagree. Jules is living up to the hot new restaurant hype and I'll be a returning customer for sure. read more
I wanted to love it, but it left something to be desired. It is insanely overhyped. We had the Fun Guy and Satriale Special. Fun Guy (mushroom) could have been a bit crispier; the Special was tasty and crispy! The mushroom pizza was very underwhelming, especially since the listed ingredients sounded so good. We only ate half of the pizza. Service was semi-friendly - could've been less hostile. Our server asked if we wanted ranch or any sauces, we didn't want any - but make sure you're aware that they cost extra. It's on the menu, but when they ask it sounds as if it's a complimentary condiment they'll bring to you. read more

Is it easy to get a table or reservations recommended?
I would get a reservation for sure! You can try on the DoorDash app under reservations section - it felt easier than on their booking website
