We arrived here after the start of the midday brunch crowd. We liked that's it's located at its own plaza and thus it has its own parking lot. The Scottish Oat cakes looked good here for me. My husband was feeling like more an omelet or skillet.
We found recs for this spot on Reddit from locals, we were a bit shocked by how small it is, but thankfully a table opened for us. We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the quality of offerings for Vegans/Vegetarians/health conscious. Went got two iced lattes - sea salt maple (iced, whole) and cardamom brown sugar (hot, oat) and were very impressed - the best espresso drinks we had in our whole 3 days in AA. We split the Smoke Salmon Benedict. I enjoyed it, my bf was not as impressed, he wished it had been warmer/more savory and less herby. I really liked the herby flavor - so to each their own. Having to use the restroom here might feel a little odd - you are guiding back to it through the kitchen, but the staff are communicative to say "guest coming through." Overall, a small, seemingly well-loved local spot that I hope continues to do well and maybe can expand in the future!
Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarians look no further!!! This healthy breakfast cafe offers so many yummy options for all diets. For being a smaller establishment, I was amazed with their menu selection. Highly encourage the JK Benedict and the cinnamon vanilla latte. Location and seating: tucked in a tiny strip mall in Ann Arbor; not on campus! Don't get it twisted. It's right next to a speedway gas station so that's your landmark. They have minimal indoor seating that could make you feel very crammed during a morning or lunch rush. They have more outside seating than indoor; which makes it a bit hard to do during winter months. They do have patio heaters though. This is my only reason for the reduced star. They need a little more indoor seating room; especially for being in cold Michigan. I would ultimately go with a curbside order. Food: oh my gosh....DELICIOUS!!!! I am in love with their coffee. Totally hooked. And it is amazingly healthy. They use local procedure and put effort into their craft. It's to die for. Staff: SO kind!!!! They didn't just toss your food on the counter; she walked it out to me while I waited at the table. So sweet and pleasant. Parking. Private lot with more parking around the back and corner.
I've written it in other reviews but one of the things I miss most about dining out is breakfast and brunch. A hearty plate of eggs, pancakes, and more...that I didn't have to make? Perfection! Juicy Kitchen was one of our go-to brunch places before the pandemic and now it's become one of our favorite takeout places. They have a really easy online ordering system on their website and curbside pick up to boot. It's nice to have something healthy for breakfast, too! Last time we ordered I went with the breakfast quesadilla with a side of bacon (I LOVE their bacon) and a seasonal special--the vegan pumpkin cinnamon roll. Oh and one of their cinnamon lattes. It's was all fantastic. Takeout breakfast can be hit or miss but there's is a real hit. My only complaint? I wish they would put their oatmeal back on the menu! A big bowl of their tasty oatmeal with a side of bacon and a latte? Truly one of my favorite breakfasts! But everything I've ever had on the menu has been really excellent.
Wonderful local breakfast/lunch place in Ann Arbor. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options--had the hash with tempeh and it was delightful. Also ordered the pina-kale-ada smoothie and it was so good I had to order a 2nd for the road. People are so sweet too, they brought out blankets for the crisp fall weather while we dined outside. Excited to try other items on the menu.
I guess there's a reason for the long waits here on weekends. Delicious food, affordable, in a cute homey little space. Came here with a good friend and enjoyed our time despite being pretty cramped. Had a delicious chai latte and a bacon egg scramble so full of flavor I could hardly believe it. A fresh salad and delicious toast and jam to accompany. What could be more perfect?
After attempting to visit over Memorial Day weekend only to find that they were closed for the holiday :(, finally made it out a few weekends ago. Although carnivores ourselves, my sister and I like to try vegetarian/vegan spins on classic dishes, so Juicy stood out to us. The location is interesting - in an unassuming strip mall, which is nice from parking standpoint (pro tip: free parking) and nice as it may be missed if you don't know about it. The place is pretty tiny, with a small amount of indoor seating and a few seats outside. We arrived ~10:30 AM on a Sunday, and luckily only waited in line for ~10 minutes before placing our order (order at the counter, they bring your food to you) and were seated without an issue. JK's menu is filled with so many solid options, the majority of them being vegetarian or vegan, which is rare. I love a good eggs benedict, so I had my eye on the JK Benny. Their take is on a corncake base, which actually had pieces of corn in the bread, and the eggs sit upon a bed of spinach, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and tomatoes - a little spice to them, but truly excellent flavors. The traditional poached eggs were topped with a goat cheese sauce rather than hollandaise, which I loved - the semi-sweetness of the cheese cut the spice from the veggies and brought the plate together. Savored every last bite! It also came with a simple side salad, which was excellent as well - featured fresh fruit on the lettuce, which was a nice touch. My sister got the same dish and was equally as content as I was! JK is a great hidden gem in AA, and offers a variety of "healthy" and plant-based foods. Ranking as one of the best eggs benedicts I've had, would highly recommend brunch here to try it for yourself!
Super cute little cafe! Lots of fresh options, lots of healthy options especially if u follow certain diets, they are very accommodating. The classic breakfast was good, yummy potatoes and delicious toast. Poached eggs were cooked a bit more than i'd prefer but nonetheless it was still good. Susan's breakfast was also good from what I heard. The iced matcha and iced mocha lattes were also both delicious. Great food and vibe, kind staff, I would definitely come back!!!
Lovely vegan friendly place to have a meal. Due to covid I wasn't able to check out the inside so I can really only speak to the food in this review. They did have some picnic tables to sit at outside, I think that's worth mentioning. I got the chilaquiles, which were just as tasty as they sounded on paper. I subbed a different cheese for the feta but I'm sure it's delicious as it comes. Also got to try the baked tempeh as well, which went had great texture and seasoning. They've got some baked goods for sale so that's hard to pass up. The quinoa peanut butter cookie had a softer consistency than most cookies I've had, but taste wise hit the spot. Overall the owners were super nice / engaging and the food was fresh & flavorful. I love the mission of this place and the execution. Hopefully I can go back sometime and check out the inside decorum. Until then, without question the food gets my stamp of approval! It's only a ride....

I have been looking for a place like this for the past year and am so glad I've finally found it: a restaurant that makes delicious food that's actually healthy and clean!! Amazing!! The restaurant itself is cute, and the food is trendy/hipter-ish with whole wheat everything and 'protein power ball' type stuff at the front. I love it. Note though that the place is TINY. There are only a handful of cramped tables inside, and we ended up sitting outside on one of its few outdoor tables but the view was just of a parking lot, which wasn't ideal. I had the Hot Mess which was a delicious breakfast sandwich (though I could have used with less spiciness from the Sriracha). I also had the Salmon Benedict which is like a regular salmon benedict you'd get elsewhere but instead of english muffin there's a corn cake thing. I liked it, but not as much as just a regular english muffin. I got a side of potatoes as well, and I was disappointed that they were slices instead of chunks. Overall though, despite my nit-picky commentary, the food was really good and I'm definitely planning on coming here again. read more
I remember when Juicy Couture was all the hype in high school. Fast forward to millennial life in AA, and it's all about Juicy Kitchen brunch, featuring Instagrammable plates with whimsical names such as the JK Benedict. Contrary to what you would expect from a Juicy Kitchen, JK is not just a juice bar though they do serve some fancy smoothies at $6 a piece. Note that the menu is predominantly plant-based so don't come here planning on getting juicy steak and eggs. However they do such a nice job with their array of brunch offerings, from the power bowl to the breakfast quesadilla to Scottish oat cakes, the creative vegetarian options will keep you enthralled. (In any case, there is also the option to add bacon or chicken sausage for true carnivores.) We were most eager to try the JK BENEDICT ($11.75), consisting of perfectly poached eggs over *veggie cakes*. It incorporated the veggie-ness of veggie burger patties or falafel, into the soft and fluffy texture of pancakes, so the veggie cakes were wholesome and tasted healthy while serving as a convenient vehicle to soak up the runny yolks. We also tried the BAKED EGGS ($9.75), essentially a hash of sweet potatoes, spinach, and caramelized onions topped with sunny side up eggs. I have mixed feelings about how it's not true baked eggs--while I do like the taste smokey taste of baked eggs, it does take forever; I think I'll settle for JK's faux baked eggs/hash. The blend of veggies was delicious and healthy, and I did like how it's less food-coma-inducing than your typical carby fried brunch potatoes. I was also impressed by the accompanying side salads, with very fresh, crisp mixed greens blended with variety of fresh fruit. The coffee was excellent as well, and I was very happy that they have soy milk at the bar. Juicy Kitchen is a small cafe in a random strip mall, so don't expect a bouge restaurant like Sava's (though JK arguably has better food and definitely better prices). The ambiance is cozy and space is a bit tight; I suggest getting thereby 9am on weekends because it can get busy. Overall, I was very satisfied with my brunch at JK--they are masters of balancing tasty and healthy (I don't feel like I just ate cardiovascular risk factors like I do at traditional American brunches with eggs/bacon/sausage/potatoes/general greasy stuff). And this review is honest and conclusive--there is no "JK" punchline :P read more

This place will always have a sweet spot for us as it's the place that my wife and I had our first date. This is a far cry from your normal breakfast diner - it's... a much more vegetarian and vegan-friendly take (but not to worry, they have meat options). Ingredients are always fresh, things taste very homemade and "unique," for lack of a better word. It's good stuff. Staff is really friendly and down-to-earth, but space is tight, so just keep that in mind before you lug a group of 10 to this little joint. read more

We were greeted with a smile as soon as we entered the door. We ordered French toast and vegetable omelet. It came with a great side salad and grain bread that was delicious. The eating area was small, but it was nice that you had an option to eat outside. The menu was varied with only breakfast and lunch options. They are served all day. A real joy of a breakfast after driving 3 hours form Columubs in the dark and damp. Got the JK Benedict with chicken sausage. Had thought it came with bread rather than corn cakes, but the staff convinced me to try the corncakes and I'm glad I did so. Real kernels of corn in there was terrific, and the spicy sautéed pinch, mushrooms, and tomatoes that went with the corncakes worked really well with the gooey eggs benedict. Rather than a hollandaise, the sauce was a roasted red pepper and goat cheese that tasted great, though I didn't recall any goat cheese flavor, which is usually pretty strong. Combo of green and fruit salad was great, and the chicken sausage was fine. Should've gotten bacon instead, I think. A welcome introduction to snowy Ann Arbor, and the friendly service and patrons didn't hurt. read more

Among all the brunch restaurants in Ann Arbor area, Juicy Kitchen is our favorite. They are always coming up with new, unique and interesting specials that are never disappointing. My favorite here is their JK Benedict which comes with a red pepper and cashew based hollandaise served over corn cakes, veggies and eggs. Another favorite of ours here, are their smoothies. You can tell they're made with quality ingredients. Excellent service and reasonably priced for some incredibly high quality food. Around $25 for 2 people. Oh, and they're vegan. read more
A lot of times when you see the words "health food" or see a place with ample vegan & gluten-free options, people tend to think you're giving up flavor. Juicy Kitchen proves that you don't have to! I wish I had checked in every time I came here so I could keep track of how many times I visited Juicy Kitchen. I absolutely love their food! My favorite thing on the menu here is the Hot Mess sandwich that comes with roasted red pepper, goat cheese, egg, avocado, and a spicy sriracha sauce that gives it a kick. Everything I've tried on their menu is incredible. The seating here is limited, but the staff is so great at cleaning the tables and seating everyone that it really isn't that much of a hassle. They also add outdoor seating when it gets warmer that adds space. The only downside is that sometimes when it gets busy in the winter, they'll ask you to wait outside (since there's not much space indoors). For this reason, I'd recommend driving rather than ubering or getting dropped off. That way, you can wait in your car -- and not out in the cold. The service here is incredible and everyone is so friendly! I always leave feeling so much better than I did before. I always recommend this spot and it's definitely worth the trip. read more

We stopped at Juicy Kitchen on our way back to CT after spending time with family in Jackson. It was delicious! My husband had a veggie omelette with broccoli, cauliflower, shallots, summer squash, zucchini, and cheddar cheese. He added chicken sausage on the side. The omelette was fluffy and perfectly cooked. I had good morning sunshine. Banana bread with peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and fruit. It was a delicious combination. The fruit was fresh, and the blueberries were massive! I had a tasty chai latte, too. Juicy Kitchen is small, but their service was so incredibly fast that the turnover is quick. Servers were very friendly, too. My only regret is that I'll likely never be back since I live 700 miles away from here. read more

I had the quiche. On the board to which our waitress directed us, it said the quiche of the day was caramelized onion and mushroom. The quiche I was served had broccoli and potato instead. It was subpar, with big chunks of flavorless potato and a crust that had no texture. Did they perhaps try to make it without butter? Or maybe gluten-free crust is always this unappetizingly crumbly? Anyway, the quiche was served with a few chunks of fruit and supermarket salad mix. Service was poor. The waitress took down the wrong time for our reservation (the mixup was definitely on their end; I heard the reservation being placed) and gave snippy answers in response to our questions not once but multiple times. The cherry on top was my pomegranate spritzer, which tasted like soda water with a pump of Torani syrup. For $2.50, I was expecting something comparable to Izze at the very least. Between the food and the service, the waitress managed to spread her morning grumpiness to everyone at the table. read more

Juicy kitchen is my go-to breakfast spot. It's filling, made with natural ingredients, and is extremely delicious! A few of my favorite things from their menu is the health nut smoothie and the good morning sunshine breakfast. The breakfast satisfies your sweet tooth guilt free! I can't recommend this place enough. ------------------- I ended up coming back to juicy kitchen and again, was impressed. Today my mother and I split the veggie omelette with no cheese. Words cannot describe how perfectly, fluffy the eggs were. It came with two slices of toast and a delicious tossed salad with fruit. I recommend asking for their berry jam! To accompany our omelette we both got drinks. I got the health nut smoothie (taste like a peanut butter shake!) and my mom got the chai latte with almond milk. The chai had a great flavor and spice. This unsuspecting takeout place is absolutely delicious. They have an interesting vegetarian/vegan friendly menu with lots of variety and fresh fruits and veggies. Great homemade salad dressing (salad comes with breakfast items) and my partner said the hollandaise was perfectly lemony for the salmon benedict (on what appears to be a Johnny cake). I had the quiche which was filled with veggies. Great coffee too! Highly recommend. read more

Frickin' amazing. Service was friendly and helpful to first timers, great suggestions on what they had and what was tasty. We both had the oatmeal and blueberry pancakes with lemon curd, BACON(makes the meal balanced) with fresh fruit on the side. Cold brew americano for me and hot tea for hubby. Mr. MVP and I went to Juicy Kitchen for an early lunch after an appointment at University of Michigan. I was excited because in Kalamazoo our options are incredibly limited with our gluten free diet. Mr. MVP was just excited because well, bacon. We were greeted immediately and felt very comfortable asking questions. We explained that we were gluten free and we were told that most everything on the menu could be made gluten free with a few substitutions. Huzzah! *There are no clear indications when you walk into Juicy Kitchen, but you order at the counter from the large menus on the wall and then grab a seat and your meal is brought to you. Not a big deal, this process just was not clear to us when we walked in.* Mr. MVP ordered the club and I ordered the breakfast sliders. Both of us substituted gluten free bread. I opted to add the daily vegetable in the sliders (cauliflower and broccoli) and add bacon. Mr. MVP ordered orange juice and I had a decaf latte. The gluten free bread had a good texture. As a nice bonus there were sunflower seeds on the crust. This was a hearty bread, which gluten free people usually don't get. It was also toasted. Yummy! The eggs and veggies complimented the bread perfectly and the portion size was just right for me. I neglected to tell the staff when ordering that I cannot have citrus, so Mr. MVP ate my fruit, which he said was sweet and fresh. Mr. MVP said his club was perfect. Avocado, bacon, tomato, and lettuce on gluten free bread. It was the best ingredient combination ever. His orange juice, which was fresh squeezed was tart, but tasty. Mr. MVP also had a peanut butter quinoa cookie. He said the peanut butter was not nearly as strong as he would have liked, but the quinoa was light and added a pleasant airiness to the cookie. I could not stop worrying that there was soy in the cookie from the peanut butter, but Mr. MVP thoroughly enjoyed it. Our lunch was around $30, but it was well worth it. We will add Juicy Kitchen to our regular list of places when we travel to Ann Arbor for appointments. read more

Such a refreshing menu! I had such a hard time choosing. We ended up with the Breakfast Quesadilla and "The Hot Mess." We shared both sandwiches, so we could try a little of each. We also shared a side of chicken sausage. Everything was great, The Hot Mess being my favorite though. I believe that goat cheese just makes everything better, so if you love it as much as I do, this is the sandwich for you! A ton of unique flavors that all come together well. As for drinks, I had the cinnamon vanilla latte & hubs had a regular coffee. He was raving all day about the great coffee and my latte was excellent. Some gorgeous latte art to make it a little more fun! The infused water is also a plus! So refreshing! The place is small, so we did have a short wait but not bad at all for a Sunday late morning. This is definitely one of my new favorite breakfast spots. read more
While on a mid-week vacation day, my wife and I decided to try "Juicy's" for a late lunch at this popular eatery known locally for fresh and healthy food. It is a small place with just 7 or 8 tables. After gazing at the menus written in colored chalk on the blackboards mounted to the walls, you place your order and pay up front at the counter and they deliver your food to your table. As we walked in at about 1:45 pm, the place was still packed with the lunch crowd although most had finished their meals and just seemed to be enjoying some relaxing conversations...kind of a casual coffee house atmosphere. We both chose to go with the Omelette Special of the day which contained califlower, zucchini, onions, white wine sauce and white cheddar. It was served with some fresh greens, fresh blueberries and strawberries and a couple of small slices of a hearty Zingerman's-style multi-grain bread. Wow...such great flavors reflecting the freshness of the ingredients folded into the omelette. The service was really friendly and the food was genuinely tasty. Prices were a bit steep at $9.50 for the omelette special but I don't mind paying for this level of quality. Juicy Kitchen definitely earned the right to enter into our Ann Arbor breakfast and lunch rotation. 4 solid stars. read more
Farm-to-Table! Nourishing AND delicious! Creative! All-Weird-Diets-Friendly! Totally reasonable if not way less expensive than you'd think! What more could you want? Perhaps more dining space, but that would require a move and I LOVE THE LOCATION! This is one of the best morning spots in Ann Arbor, and up there with the best SE Michigan has to offer. The JK Benedict is one of my go-to's, but every dish I've had so far rocks me out of this world. The breakfast salads? Ah-maze-ing. Bonus and kudos for the little side salad that many of the breakfast dishes come with. I'm glad others out there are hip to the awesomeness of the breakfast salad! read more

I came here with a friend after exhausting most of the other brunch locations on campus. The ten minute drive was well worth it! Being out first time visiting, we weren't sure about how to order. The lady behind the counter was very patient and explained to us to walk to the counter, order, seat yourself, then they'll bring the food to you. There isn't that much space, so I wouldn't recommend having a group of more than 4. Everything on the menu looked sooooo delicious! After a lot of deliberation, I ended up ordering an omelette and a cinnamon latte, while my friend ordered the benedict. They both came with a nice side of salad topped with some fruit. The veggies in the omelette were seasoned very well, and I was glad it came with a salad as it off set the eggs. The sauce on the benedict was also tasty! Different from the traditional hollandaise but had a light and non-overpowering seasoning. I haven't had the chance to go back yet, but it's in my plan to try their other savory dishes! read more

This place needs to be more well known! A fantastic healthy breakfast/lunch spot with all the trendy options to satisfy the most conscious of eaters. Got the Power Bowl which was a colorful and flavorful change of pace from the usual toast and hash browns! Quinoa base with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, kale onions and kimchi with an added egg on top! Love bowls with quality ingredients and everything tasted so fresh :) Table space is limited so could see it getting crowded on weekends! Went on a weekday morning so didn't have an issue. Wish the location were closer to campus! Could see this being a huge hit with the student crowd. read more
I ordered an omlete that had white cheddar, caramelized onion, and kale (they were out of spinach) and a a cinnamon vanilla cappuccino and my fiance got the breakfast quesedilla. His breakfast quesedilla was good, according to him. "Heaven in a tortilla" The veggie/fruit salad thing that comes with the breakfast is delicious. I loved it. The cappuccino was great too. The omlete was OK. When I took the first bite, it was amazing. But after the second bite it became too much. I'm a really picky eater and was bummed that they didn't have normal onions or spinach. The avacado/guacamole type thing is not good. It has a weird taste to it and definitely messed up the omlete, so don't add avacado to your omlete. Unfortunately, the eggs were not seasoned, and I had to put a ton of salt and pepper. read more
