This cute little vegetarian is a real treat great for brunch or lunch in my opinion. It's super small and out of the way of downtown Ann Arbor but that's not a bad thing. Before going any further note that almost all of the food has both non-vegan and vegan options. I got the hot mess with chicken sausage's on the side. The sandwich was fantastic it had eggs/avocado/goat cheese and spicy sriracha sauce. It was a very flavorful and moist inside the sandwich. It was fairly filling and the chicken sausages we're also very fresh and well cooked. The only downside I had with the food was that they used multigrain bread which I found to be very dry and took a way a lot of the moistness from the sriracha and the runny eggs. The good news is you can ask for another type of bread if you want. I also had their energy ball which was sort've like a very sweet peanut butter ball with dark chocolate pieces. Not exactly healthy but great if you've got a sweet tooth. Overall really good and 25 dollars for two is a pretty hard price to beat. read more

I ordered an omlete that had white cheddar, caramelized onion, and kale (they were out of spinach) and a a cinnamon vanilla cappuccino and my fiance got the breakfast quesedilla. His breakfast quesedilla was good, according to him. "Heaven in a tortilla" The veggie/fruit salad thing that comes with the breakfast is delicious. I loved it. The cappuccino was great too. The omlete was OK. When I took the first bite, it was amazing. But after the second bite it became too much. I'm a really picky eater and was bummed that they didn't have normal onions or spinach. The avacado/guacamole type thing is not good. It has a weird taste to it and definitely messed up the omlete, so don't add avacado to your omlete. I came here with a friend after exhausting most of the other brunch locations on campus. The ten minute drive was well worth it! Being out first time visiting, we weren't sure about how to order. The lady behind the counter was very patient and explained to us to walk to the counter, order, seat yourself, then they'll bring the food to you. There isn't that much space, so I wouldn't recommend having a group of more than 4. Everything on the menu looked sooooo delicious! After a lot of deliberation, I ended up ordering an omelette and a cinnamon latte, while my friend ordered the benedict. They both came with a nice side of salad topped with some fruit. The veggies in the omelette were seasoned very well, and I was glad it came with a salad as it off set the eggs. The sauce on the benedict was also tasty! Different from the traditional hollandaise but had a light and non-overpowering seasoning. I haven't had the chance to go back yet, but it's in my plan to try their other savory dishes! read more

Got the Power Bowl which was a colorful and flavorful change of pace from the usual toast and hash browns! Quinoa base with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, kale onions and kimchi with an added egg on top! Love bowls with quality ingredients and everything tasted so fresh :) Table space is limited so could see it getting crowded on weekends! Went on a weekday morning so didn't have an issue. From what I understand, this is a new location. I've been here twice now, but never to the old spot - so I have nothing to compare. What I do know: the location is nothing special (in a strip mall next to a pizza joint) but the food flavor, quality, and nutritional profile are top-notch - as is the passion and commitment of the staff. Juicy Kitchen offers breakfast, brunch and lunch dine-in, as well as carry-out dinner options (you can order-ahead online, or see what they have when you're there). The dinner menu changes on a weekly basis, depending on what's in-season and - I imagine - the discrepancy of the chef. So far, my dine-in brunch and carry-out dinner experiences have been the best. I picked up lunch once and while the food was all tasty, the portions and the options are just not as amazing as they are for brunch or dinner. The grilled zucchini and cheese was good but felt like only 1/2-3/4 of a sandwich, and the veggie burger and the mediterranean sandwich - while quite flavorful - were nestled in a LOT of bread. My take-home dinner experience was quite different - the prepared meals were FULL of fresh, seasonal vegetables and whole grains. The chicken (even after sitting in my fridge for a few days and being reheated) was juicy and SO flavorful. I've never cooked it so well myself! We also loved the tempeh and the sweet-potato curry. An amazing option for a lazy but healthy dinner. We sat in for brunch - and the interior of the restaurant is cute but small. Maybe 6 or so tables total with a door that unfortunately lets cold air in on a chilly day. On the plus side, I love the fresh, free, fruit-infused water (oranges, lemons, limes) available for self-service. The selection of wholesome baked goods is yummy, and the daily specials are fantastic. We had the shredded sweet potato hash with salmon, pumpkin scottish oat cakes, and a veggie-filled omelette that was one of the best I've ever had. I also ordered the chai granola a couple of times and each time received a vastly different portion in different containers. I don't know how much you're supposed to get for the price, but I do know the granola is AWESOME - not too sweet, filled with real coconut flakes, pepitas, pistachios and whole grains. (Not "filler" like most other places.) In general, I would not call the portions big - but they're enough. I would recommend ordering sides, soups or salads to fill out your meal. The quality of the food, the attention/friendliness of the staff, and the changing menu will keep me coming back for sure! read more

They are conscious of nutrition and also add pizazz and oomph to their menu to take it above beyond the average breakfast dish. Their food is wonderfully flavorful as well as creative! I visited Juicy Kitchen recently for lunch and was, overall, very happy with the experience. The food was wonderful, the service was good, and the place was very cute. Since I had never been there before, I was a little unclear as to whether I should sit down or go up to the counter to order. Fairly quickly, someone noticed my confusion and explained that I should go up to the counter to order and could choose to sit anywhere. I was waiting for a friend, so I took a seat and perused the menu. I eventually ended up ordering the baked eggs, which were delicious! They were baked over a mixture of kale, sweet potatoes, and other veggies. It was wonderful! Plus, the bread it came with was a delicious, grainy wheat bread. It was served with a small side salad, which was overall just okay, but did contain some fruit, which was a nice touch. But, the eggs were wonderful! Perfectly runny yolks! The service was good, but sometimes felt a little less friendly than I would have liked. But, overall, everyone seemed like they wanted to help and were there when we needed them. I had ordered a coffee, which was promptly refilled as needed. Also, it was very good coffee! The space is very cute, but a little cramped. There are not a whole lot of tables and I could see that it may get overly crowded at times. Maybe at some point they'll expand. But, I certainly liked the laid-back vibe. Honestly did not have high expectations for this place considering it's in a rundown strip mall, but I was really impressed! The atmosphere is really nice and cozy (although there aren't many tables so keep that in mind at peak hours!) and the service is really friendly and fast. I got the baked tempeh bowl, and it was easily the best tempeh I've ever had. Really good consistency and tasted great with the slightly spicy sauce on top! It was also served with sweet potato hash which was a delicious. It came with a piece of multigrain toast I wasn't a big fan of - it didn't taste super fresh and was a little too seedy for me. But the rest of the dish made up for it! I finished with the banana bread. It was pretty dry and not super sweet, so I wouldn't recommend it but I would be interested to try one of their cookies next time. Wow! So delicious. This place is fresh and local you can tell. I got the JK Benny which was not your average Eggs Benedict. It has a corn cake base topped with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. The side salad was topped with a light dressing and fresh fruit. As a U of M alum, I can confidently say that Juicy Kitchen will always be my favorite brunch spot in Ann Arbor. The space is super small but I find it to be unique and reminds me of being in someone's dining room as they serve healthy home-y delicious food. I always get the JK Benedict and it has never disappointed. My friends have loved the quesadilla and I have tried the baked eggs. I still would say the Benedict is my favorite because it is different than a normal Benedict and is something I would not be able to make myself. The corn cakes are delicious and the poached eggs are perfect every time. It's a bit pricey but for the amount of food you get, expected. I also enjoy supporting the local business and the staff are all super friendly! One time I ordered a smoothie and they forgot about it, when I reminded them they gave me a complimentary dessert in order to make up for the mistake which I thought was very nice. read more

Our waitress had an awesome personality and checked on us frequently keeping us filled on our drinks and making sure we were all satisfied. I rarely have coffee from a restaurant but their coffee rivals what I fresh grind and brew at home. We took a chance on running into the Juicy Kitchen despite knowing how cramped the quarters were going to be. Fortunately, we were able to find a table at the very end, and able to order without too much of an issue. Our party of three partook in the veggie omelette, the sunshine breakfast, and chicken sausage. The ingredients were fresh and combinations were quite tasty, and the coffee was surprisingly and delightfully wonderful. For those of us trying to hold back on our carbs, there couldn't be a better place for breakfast, unless one is willing to withhold one's own restrictions and go to Angelo's and pay literally and figuratively. My son ordered the chorizo hash and a side order of French toast. He says it was good. He ate the whole thing. He's a good boy. My daughter ordered the good morning sunshine, she says "it was awesome". It has some peanut butter and banana bread. I think bananas are disgusting food but she clearly has better judgment and just devoured them like a pig rooting for truffles. She is sweet like that. My girlfriend ordered the Scottish oatcakes, they are made out of oatmeal. They had a very very good berry sauce with blueberries, and real maple syrup. Great little place, really nice food options. Haven't had anything bad there yet, and I've been 3-4 times. Good coffee and smoothies. I wish they would have asked me first, because I would've said to pick any other name than Juicy Kitchen! I mean, it's better than Moist Closet, but that's about it. Wonky name and tiny interior aside, this place is about as charming as it gets, and unlike a lot of charming places, the food is also really good. I didn't notice this at first but I think all of the main dishes are vegetarian, with many being vegan and/or gluten free, but they also have great bacon that you can add as a side, which I obviously did. I had the JK Benedict, which was their awesome take on eggs benedict. It had a lot going on, but all of the flavors worked together perfectly. The veggie cakes that the poached eggs sat on were excellent, and the sauce pulled everything together. My wife had the french toast, which looked and tasted great, but I think she was jealous of some of the savory options, including mine. Personally, I look forward to going back to try the baked eggs and the Hot Mess. The coffee is also really good, which puts Juicy Kitchen over the top, no matter how ridiculous I feel saying the name. read more

Just this past summer a friend took me here to this hidden gem (towards the back of a nondiscript strip mall). I've enjoyed eating each item I've chosen. My only repeat order so far is Lavender Latte. I love just about anything Lavendar and this defintly hits the high mark for me. Juicy Kitchen is small yet amazingly with great staff who are efficient, professional, friendly and casual, it's not an easy task to be all of that at once.
