Dinner Specials

We came in with a very large group for a team dinner, and the wait staff did an outstanding job handling the size of our party. They stayed on top of drink refills and provided attentive service throughout the evening, which was impressive given the number of guests. The food experience, however, was a bit inconsistent. My mac and cheese was noticeably dry, and several steaks at our table were cooked to different levels of doneness than what was ordered. While the service was excellent, the kitchen seemed to struggle with consistency across the group's meals. Overall, a positive experience thanks to the staff, but there is room for improvement on food execution.

****Zingerman's Roadshow**** This is a regular stop for me when heading into work downtown. Not weekly but often enough. I appreciate the consistency in the menu items and quality I get from Zingerman's. Breakfast burrito with side of their house hot sauce is choice. Today I opted for a pound of THE BEST butter outside of France, and a large horchata. The drink is only available for a limited time so indulge and enjoy the hard work to make such a delicious and decadent drink. My final bill was $37 before tip. I try not to look at the prices when I visit as each visit is such a treat and the quality in everything is unmatched. Worth it. The convenience of the drive up is also a perk. Easy in and out without having to leave my car. Love it.

Great place and good sized portions. Definitely lives up to the zingermans name!! Mac n cheese is super gooey.

This was our first time but certainly not our last. Wow was it a trip to flavor town! Each of our dishes tasted so amazing! We were walked to the encased patio which gave us views of the snow gently falling as we started our lunch. Pretty and fancy adjacent- like a nice place to dine without feeling stuffy or pretentious. Our server, Nathan was a class act. He was really helpful in explaining the menu while giving some much appreciated tips. He stayed on top of the meal service from start to finish. He was fantastic! The breadventure made us laugh in name, but is so worth exploring. We ordered the large one with several add on sides. The whipped goat cheese, local honey, and pimento cheese were all delicious! I should have asked where the honey came from because it was THAT GOOD! The fried pickles are so seasoned here. Get it with the ranch or the pepper ranch. Those dipping sauces were great too. I had the Pirogies. They were on the specials menu so they are not always available. Divine! The cabbage and onion bed they were sitting on was also quite good but a little salty. Everything was good to perfection. Honestly this was one of the best meals of the trip. Go here- ask for Nathan- get a breadventure and ride the wave of flavor from start to finish. Highly recommended.

We saved the Zingerman Roadhouse for our last meal in Ann Arbor. It was a Monday evening so we got good seats on the covered patio right away. The staff was friendly and helpful and were able to serve the hungry 8 year old right away while the adults made a menu plan. There were so many choices and I wanted to taste a lot including dessert this time. I wanted to taste their Pulled pork sandwich and sides to compare with a favorite place at home in Boulder. But it had a huge order of fries with it and I really cannot have them. Another person in our group who is a regular there ordered a of grits instead of fries, so I did too. The warm mushroom and spinach salad sounded wonderful so we got the large version for the table. It was such a hit for me that I made note of all the ingredients and will attempt to recreate it at home tonight. For dessert, I had the classic cheesecake, a perfect rendition. Every thing I pressed was perfect though such a big meal I chose to eat the pulled pork with a fork in order to indulge in the salad, the grits and the cheesecake. Everyone , including the 8 year old neither fried chicken drumstick and sides an especially her brownie Sunday enjoyed the dinner.

It had been a long time since I had a visit to this location. I decided to choose this place as a meeting spot for brunch. I reserved a spot so I would not have to wait. The parking can be crowded but there are also spots in the back. I was quickly seated on entering. I did not realize they had a bar but good to know for the future. The host offered us drinks and explained the specials and the menu. She also offered recommendations. I decided on the French toast with sausage and sausage. I also got the latte with almond milk. The latte was great. Strong like I like it. The French toast came with 3 thick slices and had a great taste. Too much so I had to take it home. Te sausage patty was good and it had a little spice. It was explained to me that they were freshly made. I am glad I had a chance to check out this place. It is a Michigan staple and I will visit again in the future.

I've been here a few times and really enjoyed the breakfast food and especially the earl grey tea- it's extra delicious and feels special with the little tray with cream and honey. Breakfast was fresh and simple, pricey but good. I didn't like the seating with the heat lamps, some parts of my skin were too hot, but it was unique.

Zingerman's was a feast for the senses as well as a dinner experience. What I mean by that is this place has a ton of charm and character. You can see it on the walls, you can see it in the service and kitchen staff. It was busy. People were moving. In the chaos it was a pleasant home style hearty meal that was a fun experience. I sat on the stools facing the kitchen. A very fun spot to sit at and watch the cooks go at it. I would guess they excel at Americana food, hearty bbq plates and southern type dishes. I ordered a bbq combo plate to try a variety. The meats were ok, but honestly I loved the greens the most. The menu is massive so makes it a bit challenging to make a decision. Service was fast and friendly. Dishes were a bit overpriced in my opinion, but a decent meal. Definitely a must visit for anyone in 2A.

I'm traveling in Michigan this week with a colleague and he booked this hotel and I was curious…read morewhat this was. Looking from the outside I didn't see anything extremely extraordinary but when I got to the room and looked closer, this is a step above. Whether boutique is the right name or not, I really liked this place! Checked in easily even two hours early, which was great, king size bed with lots of pillows, above standard linens, Starbucks, coffee, TV refrigerator the basics until you go to the bathroom. Took me a minute to look and see the details then when my eyes got focused first thing I noticed was a full sauna shower with overhead showerhead, jets coming from the back, extendable wand, Good sized with easy push button water jets. Then to the toilet! Full state of the art bidet toilet with heated seat, heated water, spray, dryer, temperature controls not your standard bathroom. This is a $3000 toilet lol. I'm getting one for my house! Then I look at the mirror and there are buttons with Bluetooth on off and on the ceiling, Bose stereo speakers that you can sync your phone to while you take a shower and listen to music. Have to say for a little over 200 bucks a night hotels I've stayed at in New York City for $400 may have had more room, but they didn't have amenities like this. This is an older looks like a family owned business, with plenty of conference rooms, and just those extra touches that told me this place was above and beyond. Then we had to Webster's restaurant for lunch and had another great experience.. Great service, we both had soup and salad with my colleague. Having the lobster bisque. I opted for the black bean soup of the day, which was fabulous! Lots of protein lots of flavor not your standard black bean soup. The walnut cranberry salad was perfect for my diet and the full menu was actually quite inviting. Went back out to work to see another. Client came back and decided to eat dinner here so we actually sat at the bar where we had a couple of cocktails, then looked at the menu, but once I was told prime rib was a specialty. I went ahead and opted for the 12 ounce prime rib, which came out perfectly rare to medium rare. My colleague got the ribeye also medium rare. Perfect, we had a escargot and some great short rib, stuffed pastry, and au jus, couldn't really reverse engineer it, but it was quite tasty. Full bar selection, excellent brands and great wine selection. Breakfast was a little pricey, but expected. Having recently had a heart attack. I opted for the overnight oats with apple and Greek yogurt while the other dish was the American breakfast with eggs hashbrowns sausage, the Works. This is fine, dining, tablecloths, servers are all spot on, front staff is cordial and friendly. Just not something you get at a Hilton or a Marriott that we typically stay at. Price points were a little higher, but have to say I was not only pleasantly surprised but very impressed. Being an older place. There's a lot of finished wood work, sitting areas that are nicely decorated. Personally, I loved it. The next time in the area, I will gladly come back and enjoy everything they have to offer here. Highly recommend.!!

More important to you, it's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood about one mile to most elements of the U of M central campus. So you can walk, if you're so inclined, and five to ten minutes in a car gets you to any number of important or interesting places. Parking is on the street, which turned out to be no problem, as there always were plenty of spaces near the entry sidewalk. Perhaps it's helpful to say that the Stone Chalet campus is the site of a former Unitarian church. That's how I remember it, driving/jogging by during student years. Therese remembers it was the site of piano recitals. Anyway, the former "main building" has been converted to an event center (we didn't spend much time there) and the former parsonage converted to guest quarters. Our room was Alice-in-Wonderland themed, spacious and cozy for an autumn visit. Breakfast was ordered via an app, with many choices, including gluten-free options for Therese. If you want a good and even inspiring conversation, seek out the owner Vincent, who can share some fascinating stories about real estate and his efforts to purchase, maintain, and make profitable the Stone Chalet property. We enjoyed our time here, and wish Vincent, Daisy, family and staff, all the best. Thank you, Stone Chalet.
