I ordered a London Fog and a Cookie Butter Braid. Both were excellent. They did a wonderful job with the London Fog. The tea was properly steeped, it had a nice layer of foam, the flavors were well balanced, and it was served at the perfect temperature. They also warmed the pastry, which made it even more delicious. My wife ordered the Hippie Hash Bake, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a specialty drink. She enjoyed everything she ordered as well. Service: As soon as we walked in, one of the managers greeted us and shared a little of the history of the business, including its recent move to this new location. They also took the time to explain some of the menu items. Everyone else we interacted with was genuinely friendly and helpful. Atmosphere: The entire space is beautifully designed. It has a genuine retro feel while still feeling fresh and inviting. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit and enjoy your coffee and food, along with a covered patio with lots of café tables outside. They also have a bar that serves alcoholic beverages in the evening, as well as a mercantile shop with merchandise and gift items. This is a terrific coffee shop with lots of personality. I'll definitely be back for another London Fog and pastry.

Luckily, Sheryl's Club 175 isn't far from Slinger, was open, and had wings on the menu. I ordered a dozen wings to go with "The Rub". "The Rub" is really just Caribbean jerk. Nothing mysterious about it other than the name on the menu. It had some heat and good flavor. They could have used more of it on the wings and I wouldn't have complained. I thought the wings were well sized. They are fried, but have no breading to speak of, so not much of a crunch to them. Still good though. Probably not a new go to place for wings for me just based on their location, but I'd get them again if I'm in the area.

Unlike so many other restaurants that serve crappy cornmeal breaded cheese curds that don't get crunchy and retain too much grease, the cheese curds at Nuckleheadz are true breaded cheese curds that get perfectly crunchy. I wish every every restaurant would serve the right kind like Nuckleheadz does, but I guess that's one of the things that makes Nuckleheadz special. Speaking of special, I LOVE it when the breading on fish has herbs and/or spices mixed in. It just gives the fish a little something extra. The herbs that Nuckleheadz puts in the batter they use on their cod (maybe their other fish too, I'm not sure) are phenomenal. I'm not usually big on cod, but I'm big on their cod because of it. Seasoned waffle fries are the king of all fries so that was a no-brainer. There is no signage on the lake so I guess you just have to know where to go. A quick walk up the hill and across the street and you find yourself in a little slice of Wisconsin complete with an outdoor volleyball court and I think they were playing cornhole on the day I was there. I love the combination of perch and Italian breading. That style of breading is a perfect compliment to the flavor of the perch and I wish more places would make theirs similarly. Sadly, the cod was very wet so the breading fell apart and it wasn't as beneficial as it was on the perch. The potato pancakes were almost too dense and, as you can see from the picture I posted, were not cooked on the bottom at all. I've had far better potato pancakes elsewhere and wouldn't get theirs again. Both of the kids liked their dinners. The only thing I noticed that was off was the grilled cheese was toasted enough to brown the bread and melt the cheese on the edges, but none of the cheese inside was melted. Minor, but notable. My wife thought the wrap had a very generous amount of meat, cheese, and lettuce. She appreciated that it was romaine lettuce, not iceberg, and that the ranch was sparce instead of excessive as that let the other flavors shine instead of being overpowered. The gentleman behind the bar who brought our food out and handled our bill was friendly. I did notice, though, that none of the staff was wearing masks and there were a few groups of people close to each other at the bar, so social distancing probably isn't something they're taking too seriously for those who are worried about the COVID-19 situation.
