I really love this place, great chicken salad, they sell wine, and the soup is amazing.

Good option before a movie at the local cinema. Had the grilled salmon plate. Fresh and quick!

I had a great experience! The food is all very fresh and I had a wonderful sandwich. They have this ingenious way of ordering your sandwich where you check off what you want so the order does not get messed up. I was also pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were (more reasonable than whole foods!). The location is great also as well as convenient and easy. We also did take away food which was also fresh and delicious. I especially loved the fishcakes and the kale salad. Some real winners! Born and Raised in Newton, MA (moved away to FL) August 2018 while visiting my family I noticed that Celtic Crust had become Judith's Kitchen. It looked very pretty from the outside. Pretty windows and awnings. I was very curious. I got my chance on my way to Logan. I stopped to get a sandwich for my flight. I bought a Roasted Turkey Wrap. It cost 10.99 - but it was a big sandwich. I thought I would eat half at the airport and half in the plane. But NO, I ate the whole thing at the airport. It was very good, and well worth the price. AS A SIDE NOTE: I visit Europe pretty often. And an "IMBISS" is always good bet for a Panini at a fair price....Judith's Kitchen is like that. Good food, Not FAST JUNK FOOD. There simply isn't a better deal in town than a sandwich from Judith's. For less than $10, you get a sandwich piled high with veggies (of which there's a bunch to choose from) and meat. For most people, there's enough there for two meals. The other wonderful thing about Judith's is the by-the-pound salads, veggies, and meats--each of which is priced several dollars per pound less than Whole Foods. Judith's is also right next door to Blue Ribbon, so if the angel on your shoulder whispers "Don't do it! Eat something healthy instead," just go next door. read more

My wife and I were in Paris last week and had amazing food! Upon our return, I was invited at the last minute to a casual gathering of about 30 people in someone's home. I brought wine and was told just a simple pasta and salad would be available in the kitchen to self serve. I thought to myself, "Well, French gourmet cooking is over now for sure!" Quite to my surprise, the pasta was AMAZING with delicious spicing and a hint of sauce and who makes a "simple" Kale salad like this! Judith's Kitchen has some of the best things to eat and drink in the Newton area! Their coffee is outstanding, rich and complex flavors., great way to start your day. They have a really unique selection of wines and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. They are so knowledgeable about the wines. And the staff is GREAT, so it's nice to have them help pick something out to go with the food they sell. Be sure to try the rotisserie chicken, so moist and flavorful. I think they have the best sandwich board I've ever seen. Easy to order, everything tastes sublime AND it doesn't cost a bag load of money. My wife and I bought the pre made turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. Judith told us we had to cook it for a half hour because it wasn't fully cooked. Only problem was she didn't tell me until the day I showed up to buy it, not over the phone. I wish I had gone to stop and shop or Shaw's because at least there it's just heat it and eat it. I have no idea how to cook a turkey and with all the stores closed I couldn't get a thermometer. What a disaster. Also the food wasn't good. The turkey was dry and too salty, the sides were overloaded with cranberries. It was like ocean spray dropped a cranberry bomb on my Thanksgiving. Sweet potatoes with cranberries and acorn squash with cranberry rice stuffing. Also the gravy was watery. For what I got I feel I paid too much. For less money Shaw's or stop and shop would have been better. read more

Judith's is a terrific addition to West Newton! It's a cafe and market that has, among other things, a changing menu of wonderful prepared foods. Everything I've tried has been delicious; I particularly love their kale salad and soups. Prices are reasonable which makes it a very attractive alternative to Whole Foods. Check it out!!! read more

Great little place. Very nice ambience. My only issue is the bread. Twice I ordered a sandwich to go. When I got home, I was very disappointed in how dry the bread was. It just didn't seem fresh and detracted from what would have been a good sandwich. Something to consider changing??? read more

Had a take-out chicken salad sandwich on a challah bulkie. The chicken salad was very good but the bulkie was stale and dry. Couldn't eat the roll so removed the chix salad and enjoyed it plain. If the bread isn't fresh, don't offer it! I'll give them another chance but will order a different bread. read more

Love Judith's! Moved to West Newton a little over a year ago. Right when Keltic Krust closed. Was stoked to see a new, and probably better place move in. Great food! Quick, easy and FRESH! My favorites are the soups (really good!), the kale, seasonal veggie dishes and the CHICKEN SALAD! Such a convenience to have a place like this in the neighborhood. Right from the start Judith was accommodating and made excellent suggestions for how to please everyone, vegetarians and carnivores alike! I pick up takeout food there at least once a week. I have met friends for lunch there as well. In my experience the food has been consistently delicious. Lasagna, kale salad, pasta salad, soup, it's all been great. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. The prices are also much better than the prepared foods at Whole Foods. read more

I'm giving Judith's two stars because of poor customer service three times in a row within a 2 week period. I go to Boston Body Pilates a few doors down several times a week so thought I'd check it out. About a year ago, I stopped in for the first time for a wine tasting. The wine tasting person was not an employee. She was super friendly and I tried a few wines. I then went to the counter to buy food and stood there for several minutes before I was acknowledged, even though someone was behind the counter working on something, a bit toward the back of the store, with their head down. The person finally looked up and behaved as though doing me a favor. I purchased an eggplant rollup type thing and it was quite good. I went back two more times within a few weeks, around dinner time. Both times the store was empty and I was again ignored by workers behind the counter so I walked out and never went back. read more
