They have the best votives ($3). Roughly 2' squares, Very fragrant. The upstairs is awesome. Furniture and home gifts. I've never bought any of their furniture; I have gotten inspired for my own art projects. Refinished dressers, chests, tables. How do I love Jubilee? Let me count the ways... one cupcake, two cupcakes, three cupcakes... This place is the absolute bomb. A wonderful place to gift shop (if you're shopping for a woman, that is) Wonderfully scented candles and soaps that are shaped like cupcakes. At Christmastime, they have a cupcake-theme tree! I wanted the whole thing. Cool plates and kitchen-y gifts. A set of candles that look exactly six like giant, crumbly muffins with a wick coming out of them and loaded into a baking pan! They have funky cards and gift-wrapping, and funky.bejeweled handbags, hair accessories...everything! At the back of the store they have cute, bright, sometimes affordable clothes. Charmin Charlie, Harwin, all the same stuff, could not find USA made, why do we continue to support China? Jubliee is not high end, quality attire, ladled with Formaldehyde "a chemical that produces wrinkle-free clothing". The chemical triggered severe symptoms, and had to leave, good to know if you have this allergic reaction. Ventilation is needed. Caters to the 12-20+ age group. For those newlywed and nearly dead, hmmm, some cute sales items, for the petite woman this is a keeper, retro to the max! An Anthropologie wannabe, ez on the plastic, not closet staples. Halloween decor 2 clever. Staff friendly but at 5:30 someone is running around turning all the lights off, they close at 6:00, seems someone was ready for the day to end! The same purse (knock-off of a $35k handbag) was for for sale in this store and 4 other stores in the Heights, all different price points. Security screen on steroids at checkout counter. The only problem with Jubilee is I have so much fun when I go there, I end up shocked at the bill when they ring me up. The upside is there are so many interesting, reasonably priced things to buy! I purchased a $10 bracelet there about a year ago, and every single time I wear it I get compliments. Everywhere you look there's potential for gift-giving, whether it's for a birthday, baby shower, bachelorette party, or even...yes, it's true....a guy! They do an excellent job of dividing the store up into areas with different themes. You want animal print, it's over there on the left. You want pirate booty, look on that shelf on the right. What was supposed to be National Pie Day in the Heights turned into a shopping day at the Jubilee, go figure! OMG ladies, this store is so cute!! They sell so many adorable things from antique furniture, to women's clothing and accessories, to kitchen goods and cookbooks. I had to really refrain myself from going bananas! This is a wonderful store if you're in need of that unique gift for the females in your life. Sorry guys, no lingerie here. If you're interested in their clothes, one thing to note, their sizes do run small. For their tops and dresses, the size ranged from S to XL. I typically wear an XS from Gap and Banana Republic but the S fit me perfectly here. They also have a sale rack in the back where everything is 50% off regular price. read more

This place is so cute, I want to pinch its rosy cheeks! I am so going to start asking for gift certificates to this place! This is the ultimate girly girl place, with oodles and oodles of candles, scarves, jewelry, do dads, whatchamacallits, FUNNY birthday cards, bedazzled ipad covers, Christmas Ornaments, clothing, boots, and whatever else your heart desires. I think I spent about an hour there buying Christmas presents. It's not cheap, but you can find some good deals on the sale rack, and its the perfect place to find that hard to buy for person on your Christmas list. As a girl who only recently allowed pink into her wardrobe, I found Jubilee a little hard to stomach. I mean, everything was girly. Well, almost everything. I found, and I kid you not, a pirate Christmas tree in the corner. It was black and sparkly with plenty of "arg" umph to make it quite a spectacle. I loved it. This is the perfect place to find that girly touch. Sans the black Christmas tree, everything else was some pastel color (mostly pink) and had plenty of glitter. They had a fun collection of metal business card holders that were, of course, pink. This store is a bit cheery and girly for me, but it was fun to see all the cutsie things. I really adore Jubilee! I always make it a point to stop by this store any time I'm in the neighborhood. This store is the perfect place to find a gift when you just have no clue what to get someone! They also have the BEST cards, I love the funny ones but they also have some really beautifully designed cards that are truly unique. I love visiting the upstairs section, which is all fun kitchen stuff - so many cute things for baking! Seriously, if you are looking for a gift, this is the place to be! I only gave 4 stars because the clothing/jewelry is not always my taste, but I can almost always find at least one or two clothing items that I really want in my closet. I just picked up some nice birthday gifts for a friend. If you are looking for some nice quality soaps or maybe some small gifts this place looked nice to shop at.I liked the staff they were friendly and around to help if needed. The shop looked organized and clean and full of items that could catch your eye. I would shop here again and some items looked a little over price. I can understand marking up some items to cover the cost. I would say you could get about half the items in the store off of amazon. All in all if your trying to get out of the house and look around for gifts this might make your list. read more

If you're in the Heights area, this is a great little store to visit. It reminds me of some of the shops I love in Austin. Their stock can vary quite a bit, so it's good to visit every couple of months. And don't forget to walk around upstairs! They have a great selection of on-trend clothing items in a generous range of sizes. Every once in a while they'll have great deal on their sale items. The accessories are definitely one-of-a-kind type items and many are handmade my local artists. They also carry Hello Kitty items, Kikkerland stuff, candles, greeting cards and chandeliers! Soooo....I have a little thing for good boutiques and great customer service and I experienced both at Jubilee. In my opinion, Houston lacks "Local Love" --they just don't seem to 100% grasp the concept- so I was thrilled to find a shop where they are stuffed from floor to ceiling with cute girl gifts. I wanna give an extra Howdy-High five for the merchandising talent at this store--it shore is purdy in thar. I have shopping here for quite some time. Recently, I had a very bad experience there. It was about 30 minutes before they closed when I walked in. I was hoping to find a birthday card. The owner was in there talking with some employees, and another customer was walking around. The owner approached me with crossed arms, and I asked, "I'm sorry, do you need to leave?" She replied, "When you leave, we can leave." It was ten minutes before closing time. Aside from being completely overpriced, at least one person has been rude almost every time I have been there. I have lived in the heights a long time, and businesses like these are crushing the local culture. Then she (the owner) receives an award for some neighborhood crap? The only award she needs to receive is the poor customer service award. read more

I love to come and look around this store. It's bright, colorful, smells excellent, and is just an all-around fun place to visit. There are many creative and unusual items to look at, so it's very entertaining. That said, I rarely make purchases here for several reasons. First, as another reviewer mentioned, much of their jewelry and many of their hair accessories and handbags are available on Harwin for a fraction of the cost. So if you're willing to travel further, you can save a lot of money. As far as clothes go, I've purchased three things in the past several years, only one of which has actually held up well. On one skirt, the zipper ripped out after one wear + one hand wash. The fabric of another item faded into oblivion after just a couple of washes. The third item is still going strong, but I think I've only worn it twice for very brief periods, and I've never washed it. Some of the items here just seem really overpriced, like a burlap pillow for (I think) $85 or cupcake toppers for $35. You can often find decent deals in the clearance sections, though. I also like some of the smaller items, like the greeting cards and candles. Overall, a fun place to visit, but be mindful of what you're getting for your money. read more
