Proper Houston is perfect for the both of those I got the perfect Astros cardigan here which shows up every so often like a unicorn. I happened to catch it on one of their seasonal sales which I was shocked it was actually included. I love that they have very few limitations for these sales. I have a number of other items as female from here since they were too cute to turn down. My boyfriend also loves his hats and shirts from here. My 11 year old son wanted some shoes so we went to Proper. Fully intending to make a purchase we browsed for about 20minutes. During the shopping he had to go to the restroom. Apparently store policy doesn't allow for public restroom use. I completely understand...unless it's for women with unexpected emergencies, the elderly, the handicapped, or children. Common decency should never supersede human decency. Thank you Proper for forcing me to Amazon Prime where the shoes are cheaper and a person can go to the restroom without your sorry policy. Save your money and buy from a place with an actual return policy. Wore shoes for maybe 45 min and noticed there was a tear and they wouldn't let me exchange or return. Claimed shoes had minor stains which was the exact condition I bought them. read more

Proper Houston has the worst return policy and customer service Ive ever seen anywhere and I 've been working in running shoe stores for 3 years now. Bought a pair of vault vans, and wore them out of the store. Once I got to my friends apartment I untied them and took them off, and while I was putting them back on because we were about to leave, the shoe literally tore near the back part of the shoe. These were most definitely a defect as I've owned 5 or 6 pair of vans and they have lasted me years. When I went to take the shoe back literally the next day (like 18 hours later) because clearly they were defective, the employees said they couldn't be exchanged or returned because they had already been worn. Yeah they had a few scuffs because I wore them out, How do you find out if a pair of shoes is defective without wearing them? Just understand that the moment you walk out the door, if anything happens to the shoes you buy proper Houston has 0 intentions of helping you with your problem. I had to drive all the way to the vans store in the mall, where they had to cover for your Sorry return policy. read more

Horrible Customer Service. I bought a pair of kids shoes for a Christmas present here. Came back to exchange the size with shoes having original tags, original bag and original receipt. They had the size I needed but REFUSED to exchange them because I did not have the box even though I said they could keep the box that the size I needed came with. That has to be the most absurd policy I've ever heard of and it's nowhere on the receipt nor did they mention that when I told the sales person as I was purchasing them that I might have the wrong size. No effort in the slightest to accommodate by the manager or willingness to be reasonable. Sadly, I live nearby but I will never go back. read more

So I came into Proper recently after hearing lots of praise on social media about their great selection and great store vibe. Upon arriving I'm impressed by the store layout and the selection of shoes and carefully curated clothing. Then I waited, and waited and walked around and waited some more in hopes that one of the associates hiding behind the counter more interested in their phone and computer would eventually help me out, seeing as I was looking to buy a few gifts, but nothing. I finally approached the associate and he asked me what I was looking for. I responded with what I was generally looking for and he pointed at the shoe wall and went right back to being mesmerized by the computer. What a let down. No specific suggestions, no personal staff picks, no help whatsoever. I eventually found what I wanted, and chose to spend my money elsewhere and won't be shopping with Proper ever again because their staff is just too cool to be bothered with any sort of customer engagement. read more

I love that they carry Reigning Champ, Stance Socks and Carhartt W.I.P. They also have a great line of Proper branded clothIng.
