This place is great. My car a/c conveniently decided to die on me on Saturday when it was about 110 degrees outside. I needed to have my a/c repaired quick and went to Yelp to find the best local shop. JT Auto had great reviews and I decided to give them a try. Unfortunately they were closed, but when I requested a quote through the site, I got quick responses to all my questions. Today I was helped by Wendell and Stan and they were very helpful in solving my a/c problem. They didn't try to upsell me and were able to find the root cause of the problem and helped ensure that it would run optimally. Words cannot express how grateful and fortunate I am to have found JT Auto. Having moved here recently, I knew I needed to find a reliable and trustworthy auto shop since I drive a really old car. After going to a few shops before them, I know that they are the kind of business that is not in it for the money but genuinely care about providing quality and honest work. I have come in a couple times for maintenance check ups and emergencies and thankfully each time I did not need to buy any new parts. They could have EASILY charged me for labor or lie to me that something was seriously wrong but, after the crew thoroughly checked and gave me feedback on what was wrong with my car, they let me leave free of charge each time. After this first-time experience with JT Auto, I'll probably go back there for oil changes and wheel alignment for my passenger car. This time was for my RV, and it's not easy to find a place that can align tires on an RV in Tucson. JT Auto did it, and did it right. They did not try to upcharge me for more expensive services, such as the many things that can go wrong with an RV's front end. Wyndell, the owner and mechanic, and Scott the mechanic, together checked it out thoroughly and determined that the problem was as simple as alignment. Whew. Scott drove the RV to their other location then helped the other mechanic at that location fix it. This is not a fancy place with a nice showroom, but they made me comfortable while I waited (briefly, considering the amount of work that must have been involved). Really great place. I was new to Tucson 3 years ago. I googled places to take my Prius and JT Auto came up with great reviews for a Prius. Needless to say, the reviews were correct, because 3 years later I still see him religiously. He has never once brought up something that is wrong with the car, which used to happen all of the time where I was from. Do not go here! I brought my car in because I noticed a vibration coming from the front. Windel, the owner, told me it would be a few hours and just to leave my car. So 3 hours later I go back down there, Windel goes on to tell me I need a rack and pinion and it will be $2200. Then he tried to feed me some BS about how dangerous it is and how it needs to be done now. So I asked him a few simple question and he did not give me a straight answer to a single one. It was pretty apparent he knows nothing about cars. So I wanted a second opinion and went to Morgans Auto. After looking at it jeff morgan told me all i need is outer tie rod ends and the rest is fine. It would be $240 for parts and labor total. Do not believe the lies he tries to feed you. These are the new kids on the block. New in business but not to professionalism, courtesy and price. Another merchant (JL) who use to rotate tires at oil changes failed to advise my wife that they were no longer doing that. Obviously they also were not advising of bad tire wear or other things. It was so bad that the rears were not to the wear bar but the fronts inside wear so bad that cord was showing. I had to buy new tires. Costco recommended Dirty T Automotive to me. I was expecting a nightmare bill but these guys were great on explaining and price. I will go back and recommend them anytime asked. read more

I came in today to get an oil change for my kia forte and was made aware if the condition if my tires (which I already knew). I was brought under the car lift so I could see for myself, something no mechanic has ever done for me. They are truly honest and actually care about the customer. Brand new tires cost half of what I would have paid for anywhere else including discount tire and I was actually educated on my car. I am so happy I found this place I will always come back!!!!!! First time went in for oil change and asked Wendell if they could change out coolant that I had purchased, but was too lazy to change myself. Was told no problem and expected 40 to 50 dollar extra for that job. They floored me with absolutely no charge for this additional work. Second time I went in for rear axle seal leak and front cv axle replacement for my 4runner. Had priced it out at 700 dollars at Toyota and was blown away with a bill of less than 300 dollars! JT is a small local owned business. Integrity, value, and service obviously rule this place. They are busy so be sure and make an appointment. I guarantee you will be glad you did! read more

My husband and I initially liked this shop for all our vehicles. This changed after many unnecessary repairs were made and repairs that didn't resolve the issue at all. My husband did his own personal work on his own time to help advance his company, but he kept being taken advantage of and wasn't appreciated. Since all this has occurred we have stopped bringing our vehicles to this shop. It is unfortunate since we initially did like the shop. They have never reached out to make things right, after I've tried working with them. If you have repairs needed that they recommend always get a second or third opinion. I promise this will save you a lot of frustration and money in the long run. If resolved in the future to satisfactory I will do a new positive review. read more

I visited JT auto for the first time today with my 2007 Honda crv for an oil change before I leave for a road trip this weekend and the gentlemen working there were so nice. They were thorough and kept me informed every step of the way showing me a weird anomaly with my tire situation. They also flagged a small transition leak and offered to double check it without trying to upsale admitting they don't actually do transmission work. Also I could hear the crew in the shop talking with each other while they worked, I got the sense that this is a family run shop where everyone loved working with each other which is a breath of fresh air. I am currently from out of State looking at, perhaps, buying a house and relocating here. Not knowing the area and needing my oil changed, I looked on Yelp and found this place. I have to say that everything I read about JT Auto turned out to be the way I found it. The employees were friendly, not pushy and made me feel at ease. They completed my oil change, cleaned the dash, and rotated the tires all for a reasonable price. And to top it off, they started my car and turned my A/C on to cool the car before I got into it. Absolutely love this place. Most honest and quality repair shop I found in Tucson. The mechanic is awesome and he went out of his way to inspect my mustang before a long road trip. He then explained to me all of the functions of the parts of the car that were not functioning properly. Couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were and how fast they got my car back. I needed my oil change several days before heading to Phoenix for Thanksgiving. I read some YELP reviews and made my decision. This isn't a big place and you have to keep an eye out to see it. The sign is on the building so drive slow or else you might miss the place and do a U-turn, like myself. Walked in and it was quite nice. The owner was very friendly and his workers were nice, too. Offered me some water and the remote for me to change channel on the tv. Anyway, I told them I needed an oil change and to my surprise, I needed way more than that. The owner told me warned me about my lack of treads on all four wheels (oh my goodness) and it was not going to be a safe ride to phoenix with the wheels I had. He knew that my previous wheels which I bought online were not good anymore so he requested better ones for me. Anyway, after everything, they were super nice about everything and even cleaned my car sparkly clean. Needless to say, I never enjoyed such a smooth long ride back and forth from Phoenix or anywhere. I would definitely be back next time for the next oil change. read more

To be honest I first stopped at a larger chain company to get an easy flat fixed on my wife's car. They of course had an 1.5 hour wait. I drove around and found JT's via yelp, called and they said they could take care of it and there was no wait. When I got there they were really nice and the apologetic when they felt it was taking to long. I wasn't there for longer than 25 mins!!!! Then they didn't charge me at all and I tried to give them the little cash I had to at least buy some drinks but they said no to that as well! Great place, friendly and WILL be going back! read more

We took a car in for a pre-purchase inspection yesterday, and could not have been happier with the service we received. After calling two other locally owned shops that we have used in the past (one of them being a shop we have used faithfully for routine maintenance), this was the first place that was able to work us in same-day, and only charged $25 for the 135 point inspection. One of the other shops was going to charge $90 for the same service. JT's completed a thorough inspection and gave us a detailed report upon completion. I was looking for a new, trustworthy mechanic as I was fed up with being lied to and taken advantage of at my dealership. I found JT auto on Yelp and decided to give them a try due to their good reviews. I was not disappointed! I worked with Scott and he really knows his stuff. He went on a little test drive with me and knew exactly what was wrong with my car. He even came in before the shop opened to meet me so I could drop my car off before work. Being on a single income at this time, I was very grateful that Scott and the rest of the crew only fixed what needed to be fixed (replacing only 3 out of 8 coils) and my total due was less than the original estimate. He even took me on a test drive when I picked it up to make sure everything was working properly. Even more, he showed me the parts that were removed and why my car was having trouble. I've never had a mechanic do that before and not only did it help me learn more about my car but it confirmed that the work they did was legitimate.
