First, support local-black owned businesses. Thanks to my neighbor and the Blax Friday app, I found this gem to fix my front bearings of my car's wheels at an affordable and accommodating price. They were so quick with the repairs unlike my dealership. Also, I will be going to them for service maintenance moving forward as their cost is less expensive than the dealership. Thank you Wendell and the JT Auto team for your amazing service!

The gash in my tire from July 3

I have been a customer of JT Auto for about 10 years. I loved them at first but am sorry to say that I won't be going back. I first noticed changes when the business moved from its little location west of Campbell to the larger one it's now in. When it was in the small shop, Wendell was super friendly and would walk me into the bay and show me what was wrong and what needed fixing. I trusted him completely. Now that the shop has moved, Wendell seems rushed whenever I bring my car in, and when I come to pick it up, I get a printout diagnostic of all the things wrong with my vehicle. It seemed like as the shop grew it became more of a money maker for Wendell rather than fulfilling a passion. The last straw for me was a month ago when I got a flat tire driving in a rainstorm at 3 pm on July 3. I called Wendell to let him know I had a flat (I had bought insurance on my tires through him) and was driving straight to the shop to get it fixed. I got the shop's voicemail so left a message. But when I got the shop was all closed up---they left early for the July 4 weekend maybe? Anyhow, I had to drive on the flat over to Discount Tire to buy a new tire. When I spoke to Wendell on Monday July 7 he said there was nothing he could do to reimburse me because he didn't see the tire. I was really upset because it wasn't my fault that the shop closed early on July 3! Anyway, he said he would try to get my request through the underwriter and I sent him the pic of the tire's gash, but basically he just stopped answering my calls. I was disappointed enough with the changes over the years but ghosting me? Come on, Wendell. You can do better.

Two of my favorites only JT Auto will be taking care of.

I have 2 daily drivers and 2 classic cars. I try to do the majority of the work on the cars myself, but sometimes the labor, effort or experience required is outside of my abilities. JT Auto and Wendell's quotes and prices for work and parts have always been spot on what I was expecting to pay before I went for the estimate. They also stand behind their estimate. I've met many of their techs. All good people. Sometimes they find more things that require attention and they've never been wrong. They have found other issues with my cars I didn't know about until I saw it for myself and they saved me more grief in the future. It's hard to find good shops and the only negative thing I can say is that their honest business model will eventually make them too busy for me to be able to get my own cars in.

I navigated to your business for the second time and couldn't find anything. I don't see a sign or anything saying JT auto. You guys are probably losing a lot of customers this way. Where are you located?

Long story, if you can take it. I have been buying tires…read morefrom Discount Tires ever since I discovered them in Tucson. Since then, I have bought from Discount Tires in at least three cities, since I travel too much. A total of well over 50 tires, on over a dozen cars by actual count. All B.F. Goodrich KO tires, since I live on a dirt road, and need the extra protections on the sidewalls. Any time I have bought a car, I have gone straight to Discount Tires to put on a new set. Expensive, but if you've ever changed a tire on a dirt road in southern Arizona in the summer, you will understand. Discount Tires offers a pretty good guarantee, which I have used more than once. Good stuff. At least until yesterday, when I ran into a brick wall at the store where I have bought the most tires. I got a slow leak in one of my front tires, so I took my Subaru in to my favorite store to get it repaired. They advertise that they will fix flats whether you bought it from them, or not. Slam dunk, since I actually bought the tire from them anyway, right? Wrong. Alex went on out to my car when I brought it in at the appointed time, and looked at all the tires on my car, and reported that he could not fix the flat on my front tire, because one of the rear tires is 11 years old. Huh? What does that have to do with the front tire, I asked? Well, it turns out that company policy, according to Discount Tires, is that they will not work on a car that has an old tire. Not work on the tire, the whole car. Doesn't matter if they sold the tire in question, all the tires on the car, or none of them. Company policy. I whined that I had been a great Discount Tires customer for decades, always bought the high-dollar tires, blah blah. No dice. He hands me back the keys, shows me the door. Now, you may ask why I have such an old tire on my car to begin with. Well, the tread is not only not worn out, but it matches perfectly the wear on the rest of the tires on the car. If you have ever owned a Subaru, you know what this means. If your tires are mismatched in the tread, you will toast your transmission eventually. Really. Ask friends who drive Subarus. So, if I replaced the old tire, I would have to buy four BFG tires, for well over a thousand bucks. Rather not, if I don't have to. The old tire has about half the tread, has no cracks, has been watched carefully over the years, but its old. End of story. No more Discount Tires for me. I don't believe in dealing with businesses that have secret rules to screw you out of your money. As they say, your mileage may vary. Good luck. Miller McPherson Tucson

I would definitely recommend this Discount Tire location and their team to anyone who needs tire service!
