I've had my good and bad experiences flying with them as a card holder. My understanding of what this company was growing up and how I was treated as customer "back in the day" has changed tremendously since then. The friendly skies, the "on time machine" and "something special in the air" is a far cry from what it was then. They've failed on almost every level of the things they upheld so vigorously during the 80's. "Doing what we do best" isn't what we get nowadays. It's the sign of the times I guess, but honestly such a shame too! You're paying a high premium and having to do most of the work yourself when entering the airport. Staff is simply there to socialize amongst one another & if you have questions or need guidance they seemed more bothered by that, that you've interrupted their conversations. The on board staff is just going through the motions without any type of respectful greeting, personalities are as dull as a butter knife, zero friendliness and lack of appreciation of their passengers. As a valued member, I will continue to hope for the best, but will always be prepared for the unknown and what my experience has been lately versus what my expectations are moving forward with this airline.

I usually like to sit in row 32,33, or 34. I find that I have a good possibility of having the row to myself. Not always , but it does happen often. Sky Harbor is a very easy airport to get in and out. Terminal 4 is the American Airline hub. I do have to say , the attendances on the flight were not as friendly as Delta's attendances. So much said for that . I do fly American often and also Delta. The gate areas do have a variety of charging stations. Some gates more stations than others.

In our recent trip to Phoenix in June, my partner and I landed at Sky Harbor, dubbed America's Friendliest Airport, located just three miles east of the downtown. The atmosphere truly lives up to the name. The views here were absolutely stunning, especially watching planes take off and land with the desert mountains in the background. Terminal 3 was clean. Clear signage in getting around was smooth and stress-free. The SkyTrain ride to the car rental center was efficient and convenient. TSA lines were the shortest in any of our travels, only a few minutes. The staff were friendly and professional. We had a really positive experience at this airport.

It was a great experience, my husband had a lot of opportunity to fly the Cessna 172 G1000. I recommend extending the flight to one hour which allowed time to fly over the beautiful lakes. Our instructor, Travis Graham was amazing. I highly recommend the introductory experience for anyone interested in flying. My husband has done computer simulations for a long time and this is what he needed to commit to taking flight lessons.

Debra went above and beyond to make the process smooth…read more There was a long line at the kiosk so I was able to walk right up when Debra called me to her counter. Debra gave me pointers on my carry on items and even walked me to the bag weigh machine to help me to be able to get onboard. Hooray to Debra... then there's my TSA PRECHECK point where the lovely lady with the lovely haircut was professional and knew why I kept beeping in the machine after the guy employee told me that he'd make me take everything off as long as it kept beeping... what a jerk!!! He made me darn near strip when she knew it was a simple hair clip that kept me beeping instead of creeping through On the plane...I was upgraded to first class type seats which were bigger seats upfront. Whoo hoo!!!: Tons of leg room and a arm rest... sheesh it's night and day comparison to the regular seats. Thanks to Debra my trip started off fantastic !!! The flights were some of my best flights taken honestly. Going up and dropping down were smooth with no turbulence which I applaud both pilots. Jobs well done!!!

There are many stores and restaurants inside to suit your needs. There is an information desk where volunteers will direct you or give you ideas on what to do in Phoenix. The paintings on display were hung in a room with lower lights, all looking quite 'elemental' : my favorite was one with the moon and animals at the water, but they were all striking in their colors and meanings. I took several photos of the nearby "gone era" when flying wasn't as it is today; saw models of a DC-3 like the ones I flew in as a child, a P51 from WWII, and a photo section reminding us of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Black aviators of the era. Picked up a postcard of the museum with another group of artists featured nearby All of these displays are in Terminal 4, level 3 - east of the food court. Parking in the 'departures' garage is a short walk into the airport, down in the elevator, and voila ... you're arrived at your destination!

Flight from ATL to LAS due to land at 8:11pm, however we were unable to land due to high winds. Not the airlines fault. We circled LAS for about 30 min then it was decided we would go into PHX for fuel and wait for the winds to calm down in Vegas. We arrived at PHX at 9:56 pm. Everyone told to deplane and take all belongings. New plane supposed to leave at 12:33 am (Monday) after lots of prior miscommunication about departure time. 12:33 am comes and goes no boarding , 1am comes and goes no boarding. Gate agent says he has to board us all manually using a paper list. Boarding finally starts around 1:15 am... as of 2:34 am we are still sitting on the runway... more confusion as there is a passenger missing from the list. I am over this....
