I loved this place when it first opened, and for several years later. But the menu has changed. I love the bang bang shrimp, but the Beef Wellington is gone that was a special treat for me as no one makes it here! Then my other fav was the gorgonzola pasta was amazing and it to is gone. I used to love the hog wings but the last three times I ordered them they were tough as heck. The buffalo potato skins another unique app. Is also gone. Now I tried another pasta dish and it was a tiny serving and not dressed with sauce at all. Time before I had the Mediterranean pasta another undressed pasta. I loved this place and my heart is broken as it has lost all that is unique! My other gripe is that their website is out of date and had me excited to have some of the prior mentioned items. I have eaten here twice now its not a bad place to eat it's very inexpensive the fries are great I didn't get alcohol so I can't comment about that but definitely a place I'd recommend when I went last time they had a Cajun theme and offered gumbo and alligator so thy was pretty cool overall pretty good place to eat come Check them out read more

Absolutely delicious food! Decided to stop and grab some lunch before leaving Casper. The food was excellent, but the service could be improved. My family was stuck in a corner Booth and almost forgotten about. We ordered wings as an appetizer and when they came she said she would bring us some plates, which never came. Due to Covid condiments come in small to go containers... I think the waiter should have asked if we needed any prior to bringing our food. We asked for ketchup when our food arrived and waited about 5 minutes to receive it. read more

The last several visits I have been very disappointed. The service has been very poor and the food mediocre. We went during happy hour and were excited about the $7 appetizers and then realized they were small plates, it probably would have been more economical to order reg priced appetizers. Great service and atmosphere. Maybe I ordered the wrong food, but country fried steak is exceptionally difficult to screw up. It tasted terrible there was no taste really other than the breading. I'm a pretty hard critic of restaurants in general. I was in the business for a very long time. In fact, I worked for the owner of this establishment about 10 years ago. Having said that, and because of that, I probably would never post a bad review of one of John's places, that just doesn't feel fair. However, I don't have the same reservations about positive feedback. We went there today. There were 7 of us having a lunch for a retiring co-worker. Our server Eryn, was pleasant and attentive without hovering. Our food was good, and came in a reasonable amount of time for a party of our size. I had the BBQ bacon burger and it was cooked perfectly for me ( maybe a bit pink for others), the sauce had a nice kick to it. I would say that the only reason I didn't give 5 stars, was because of the chips. I assumed, they were fresh cooked (they do not claim to be, so I was not misled) but they were not. The restaurant was clean, the restrooms were clean, and everyone was pleasant. Finally, as a single father, I want to say a special thank you for the diaper changing table in the men's room. They are a rare convenience that 9 out of 10 places do not have. I will be back. read more

This is the best pub food I've ever had. We were in Casper for the eclipse and they were very busy, but accommodated us and served us promptly. *Everything* we got was excellent: flavorful, still hot, and frequently quite interesting. (I got some stuffed jalapenos, which is not something I usually eat and they were great, hot not not painful and the flavors in them were still strong and good. I also had an exceptional salad. The drink menu is awesome and the food menu has a good variety as well. What I did not like about the restaurant is that you are paying for a $25 steak and they have wait staff coming around and taking dirty plates and putting them into a big container. Therefore, they lean this big container full of other people's dirty dishes onto the table as they reach for your dirty plate and put it in. It's gross!! As I'm eating my nice steak and get to look over at a container full of dirty plates and other people's food. For a nice restaurant, you should not have servers coming around with those big dirty containers. I recommend having them simply take the plates from your table and walk them back to the kitchen. read more

Good food, We go here often to watch Football as they have the NFL Sunday ticket so you can watch all the games. 99% of the staff here is great. Unfortunately after the confrontational treatment we received from the the manager Ted we will no longer be spending our money at this restaurant. Several occasions he was very rude to us after yesterday however we are done. If you are going to have a football package for fans to come watch football there is no need to rudely remind them how long they have been there. And to come over to complain about what games are on what TV. It's your restaurant all we can do is request. I come to spend money eat , drink and watch football not argue with a power tripping manager with a bad attitude and poor customer service. read more

A quite decent meal on a Sunday night. Restaurant was almost 100% full, but greeting and seated quickly. Server MO pleasant and knew the menu well enough to offer pro's and cons about the menu which is extensive enough to find something for anyone's taste Food: Portions generous Cuban Sandwich 5 star excellent plus . This is our favorite sandwich and we eat it often so surprised at just how good it was here. Pasta with sausage chicken shrimp and vegies. 3.5 stars. Sausage good with a hint of heat. Pasta properly cooked. The cheesy vodka sauce was a little too heavy for me. Tasty but a lighter sauce would have made the meal less heavy. Fortunately I asked for the veggies that come on the pasta on the side as I am not a fan of onions and peppers and the mix is pre prepared. These were way to oily. However the vegies that accompanied the Cuban zucchini and squash were well prepared. All in all a solid 4 star. read more

The ambiance was good. The food took awhile to come out and when it finally did it wasn't the best. I got a steak that was overcooked with green beans that were barely cooked and a baked potato which was the only good thing. My dad got salmon which was good but the mashed potatoes were cold and asparagus was barely cooked. Our waitress gave good service and everyone was really nice. As far as Casper restaurants go, this is top 2 or 3. Eclectic menu options, but they do also have the more traditional options for the less adventurous taste buds. I love that the chef strives for uniqueness. Not easy to find in Casper. Big portions, unique options, great service (phenomenal actually) and good atmosphere make this place recommendable. One recommendation to the restaurant- make the space more unique. Definitely has that "corporate america restaurant" look and feel. Once you open the menu though, that feeling quickly goes away. read more

We came in late, two nights before the eclipse. The restaurant was busy, and we waited quite a while for our order. The manager came to apologize (before we said anything) and gave us one of the entrees without charge. The food was excellent. We had the stuffed haddock and the bison meatloaf. After eating dinner here twice, I can muster up only 3 stars for J's. My rating is an average of a 4-star rating according to Casper standards, and a 2-star rating using "rest of the United States" standards. For Casper, J's is pretty good. However, if you lift your gaze and broaden your horizons to areas outside of Wyoming, I believe 2 stars is appropriate. OVERALL IMPRESSION: This is a restaurant that has good food ideas, but falls very short in execution. PRO: Atmosphere. J's has a warm, comfortable interior with just the right energy and noise level for an evening out with friends or a dinner date. PRO: Service. Service has always been very prompt and friendly here. I think the waitstaff there is great. BIG CON THAT OUTWEIGHS ALL THE PROS: The food. Despite the aforementioned pros, I am sorry to report that the food generally lacks flavor IN A BIG WAY. They have great ideas for their dishes, but it seems as if everything just lacks flavor. For instance, the mac-n-cheese in their pork/macaroni and cheese/apple sauce entree tasted like plain boiled macaroni. The truffle flavor in one of their truffle dishes (I forgot what the dish was....that's how forgettable it was) was non-existent. There wasn't even the subtlest hint or whiff of truffle to be found. ANOTHER BIG CON: J's has the knack of turning exquisite ingredients into cheap-tasting, dumbed-down versions of themselves. Despite our insipid entrees, we were excited to order a dessert that listed limoncello as an ingredient. Limoncello? In Casper? Much to our dismay, the limoncello had been incorporated in such a way that it tasted like a lemon-flavored pudding cup. Even the idea of a nice sauce reduction isn't executed well. The gravy on my dining partner's entree tasted like gravy made from a powder packet. BOTTOM LINE: Go here for drinks and maybe some snacks, but don't expect your taste buds to be blown away. read more
