Frontier Brewing and Taproom is right in the middle of downtown Casper and that makes the location pretty cool. As I have said before I am quite impressed with how many breweries... good ones that have opened up in this city. A number of years ago there wasn't anything all that terribly exciting as far as breweries go here but that has really turned itself around. For this brewery I had their cerveza beer and it was pretty good. Crisp, clean and a nice little kick to it made a very pleasant version of this beer type here. They don't have beer in the cans or crowlers or at least not from what the staff member told me but I didn't see any of that anyway. Wings 4.5 stars. Really good. Beer 5 stars. Even better than the wings. Stingo and Speed Goat stand out in their category.

I've only ever hosted an event here but the staff and management were very accommodating. I can tell you that the ambiance is inviting and worth your while if you are looking for a venue. read more

Friday at happy hour, the place was pretty dead. 4 others in the place. But the reviews were good so we stayed. There was no employees present for the first 10 minutes while we looked at the menu. I ordered a flight but she couldn't find the flight glasses so she comped me a beer while she looked. (That was nice). But I won't be going back. Very disorganized, and when the flight finally came the beers were not great compared to other brewery's I have been to. Not bad, just "bla". read more

This place was awesome. Stopped by on our way through the area. Beer wall was great, and they let you play Nintendo switch on the screen from the movie theater that it used to be. Allowed me to enjoy some delicious beers while my kids were entertained. Would definitely go again when we are back in the area. read more

Plot twist: this is Casper's ONLY brewery, AND you pour your own beer here, AND the tap selection is tasty! WOOHOO x3! Being from Ohio, where we have NOTHING like that, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked in :) I came on a Wednesday night, which was a great weeknight to come because it's trivia night and the place was jumpin'!! There are 10 taps, a few are Frontier's own and the rest were others from Wyoming, Colorado, and Washington state. I really liked the two I had from Frontier (golden ale and dark rye) and the rest of the selection is a good variety. The self-pour concept is a lot of fun, and the employees are super nice and helpful so NBD if you have no clue what you are doing (like me)! I got to meet one of the owners and even got a quickie tour of their brew tanks, so that was cool! My town is literally overflowing with breweries, so it's crazy to think Casper has something we don't, but now that I know self-pour breweries exist, I can't wait for one to open where I live! And if you live in Casper or just stopping by, Frontier is a must!! read more

Great variety! Great vibe! They still had the feel of a new brewery but with the look of a well established restaurant. Everyone loves pouring and drinking more than one beer! This is a great answer. Great little brewery with awesome staff. Stopped in as we were walking by with our dogs and noticed a dog water bowl curbside... nothing better than enjoying a really good beer with your furry friends. Ended up meeting some great locals and an owner/manager while we were there. Awesome hospitality and excellent beers. We had 3 different ones (an IPA, a brown ale, and a raspberry saison) and they were all great. Thanks for making our quick stop in Casper memorable and fun! read more

Visiting from Portland OR and had to check out the local brewery scene. Despite having visited countless breweries, I had never seen the setup Frontier used- and it was pretty cool. There are ten or so beers on draft and you can pour yourself as much or as little as you want, and it ties to your open tab. That setup let's you opt for a few normal pints or you could sample several beers and then pour yourself some smaller glasses. Very nice for getting to try a bunch of options and then getting a perfect sized pour of exactly you want. The beers were very tasty too- local Wyoming stuff Bonuses: cool building, nice employees, free popcorn to munch on. All-in-all a great setup read more

My husband and I were looking for the local brew pub and found this one. One of the most unique places we've seen for breweries. Had a great time and some very tasty Brews. We would definitely come back again. The unique part of the system is that you only pay by the ounce. And you pour for yourself. As they say it's okay to be self-serving. read more

I love the setup they have here. The ability to try beers before you fill up a glass is great. The building itself is a bit small, as I have been to the quiz nights they hold, and it gets quite packed some nights. The staff is great, and the selection of beers is always changing and always good products. Try to catch them when a food truck is there, and enjoy a beer or two with friends! read more

Great place but they close too early. They need a little help with the house beers as they are inconsistent but still not too bad. I think they're trying to get the beers on tap faster than they can properly mature. read more

Seems like a great idea, but poorly executed. You have to get a card-- forewarning there are several ways to do it and in one you set up an account and they store your cc info-- red flag for fraud!! You cannot just buy one beer and you have to protect your card because anyone can use. We went on a busy night, and apparently Casper parents feel a brewery is an appropriate place for toddlers and school age kids after 8:30 p.m. (it was close to 9 when we arrived). All the adults were drinking and all their kids were running around or hogging all the tables. The kids were scattering game pieces all over the floor and I almost fell by slipping on one. I even saw a toddler in his moms arms touch the tap. Gross! They need to make the taps a no kids area, even for people holding kids. It was gross. read more

I've been to Frontier a few times now. Each time I go their beers get better and better. Its a pour-your-own set-up which allows you to try their proprietary brews as well as other regional beers - as much or as little at a time. Owners are local and are very friendly. No food so make sure you grab something to eat before or from the food truck(s) that are often parked out front. read more

Beer with an attitude. Stopped here for a glass of beer. Good luck if that's what you want. This is one complicated place. Is is 'self serve'? Nope, your pours are critiqued and coached. If you tell them what you like, do they recommend a beer? Nope, they touch the computer screen and suggest you read about each beer. There are ten beers on tap, lots of reading-to-do-before sipping. Is there an option to just order one beer and pay, and tip? Nope, need to go through two employees, set up an account, get a plastic card, and then use the card for each pour. And is it easy to access the glasses and taps? Nope, the employees 'hover' and 'body-block' access. And how did the beers taste? Frontier Golden Ale has no taste. And the Snake River Jenny Lake Lager was overwhelming hoppy. Melvin Killer Bees was at least drinkable, but won't have it again. And how's the ambience? When we first arrived they were playing rock. Then four folks arrived and they switched to BLARING BIG SCREEN football and we can no longer carry on a conversation. I get it's the Wyoming game, but sound at level 150%+++ for four customers?! I don't get it. I guess if you want to drink lots without anyone stopping you, this is the place - there aren't any other qualities of value. Oh, and they have you clear your table. So, did we leave a tip in one of the numerous tips jars. Nope, no service provided that was tip-worthy. If you want self-service bad beer where you can't converse, this is your place. read more

A unique spot in downtown Casper. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere, super helpful and patient employees, and I even met a couple of the owners.
