If you're looking for quality ingredients and creative offerings, this just isn't the place. We have gone several times for lunch or dinner and we have never been happy. The waitresses wear super short black skirts that are unasked for. The food is bland and over priced. Our families a huge fan of J's, once the wonderful Johnny J's Diner. We'd go out and eat here occasionally. Our party would usually get beer (I'm not old enough to drink,) and we'd just sit and talk as the night grows. Sometimes, you'd be invited into live music night which is very awesome. If you can, get a seat in the longue. Our party would order a shrimp scampi pasta, a choice of steak, and a big burger! The wait time is A-OK, but it's understandable with the buzz this joint has gotten in recent times. The servers are very nice and chill, especially if you get Julia as your server! The atmosphere is nice and casual, not too loud. About the food, it. is. wonderful! The pasta has delicious flavors and the portion is somewhat generous! Jay's has always done me right when I've ordered the burger. Seems like I always see the same male server when I sit at the bar, I don't know his name but he is efficient and gets the order with fixins right every time. I get myself a drink and wait for the to go order, it usually arrives before I can finish my drink. And come to think of it, their burger is really one of the better burgers I've had on the road in the last few years. I like knowing I can come to Jays and get a reliably tasty meal. This place gets one star, and it's only because the food was good. The service was absolutely the worst I've ever had. Please note that I've worked in the restaurant industry for years, so I get it's rough sometimes, but please.... I would be fired if I treated my guests this way. We came in with a large party after some had been sat. We were directed to the corner and sat down. Our waitress greeted us and mentioned we might have a different server- no big deal, we were a large party. Then the hostess came over and informed us that "next time we need to ask before we sit down anywhere because we really F*CKED things up at the host stand." Verbatim. To our faces. And then immediately walked away. My friend is very obviously pregnant. Seriously? You think it's appropriate to drop an f-bomb on a pregnant woman? The rest of our meal continued with forgotten orders, rude and snappy responses, and utter chaos. Our waitresses tried, but I believe she was new. In that case, why would you want to give a big group to the new girl? The manager never stopped by. The food was decent, when and if it arrived. Don't support these business ethics. J's has great food and I hear it's locally-owned. I crave the tuna wanton appetizer on a regular basis. It's always busy, which is a tribute to the quality of their food and service. I have eaten at J's Pub & Grill on several occasions, however, I took my daughter and it turned out to be a horrible experience. First, the waitress was running around with her head cut off, not paying attention or maybe she was having issues paying attention to her customers. She took my daughter's order wrong and then charged us $10.00 more than the item she ordered. She took my card and did not return with it for about 10 minutes. She did not want to make the corrections on the price, which was her fault. We left without leaving a tip and probably will not return for quite some time. However, the food is great! read more

I ate at the pub three times last week. The two lunches i had were spectacular. Service was great, food was delicious etc. However, Saturday's dinner was a nightmare. The three female bartenders were beyond rude. Very unattentive. We waited for over an hour for our table. Understandable, brand new restaurant. Our waitress was terrible. Extemely pushy, she kept trying to rush us. Needless to say we complained to the manager on duty. Basically gave a lame apology. I was excited about this restaurant. Have been coming here for a long time VERY frequently and it just keeps getting worse and worse. There are things that are good but anything that is not a "main" menu item is mediocre at best. I just got a tiajuana torpedo burger that was suppose to be two patties stuffed with peppers. It was closer to an 1/8 lb burger cut in half with one or two pieces of peppers in it. I sat down ordered a beer and 15 min later I got a poor excuse of there being a "hiccup" in the computer. I wish she would have just been honest and told me the truth we could hear her tell the bartender about her needing it fast because she forgot to put it in. Then after I drank it, I asked for another because it took FOREVER to get our food. I never got another beer, and ran out of water because we didn't see her again until she was picking up our plates. Mind you it was not busy by any means there were open tables. When I complained about my burger the waitress said "Well that's fantastic! Can I bring you a box?" I told her "no, it was terrible" and she then said "Great, I will go get your check!" I could go on and on but in the end. I won't be back until I hear things have changed. I was originally very impressed with the menu and quality of food at J's several months ago, but my most recent visit fell flat. The booth we sat in smelled like a sour old wash rag and the table was sticky. The menu recently changed and despite ordering the same salad I have gotten in the past with the same description, the food quality was waaaaaaay cheaper and craisins suddenly appeared in my dish. I don't know about you, but when I pay to have a salad made outside of the confines of my kitchen or work salad bar, I don't want to see a haphazard package of craisins chucked on it. My wife and I were some of the very first to eat at J's when they first opened. I knew that there was no chance that they would ever keep their "celebrity" chef, however the food was great. After he left there was a menu change and things were still quite good. We at at J's often enough for me to fill up their loyalty card twice. However they have decided to keep screwing with the menu and changing EVERY decent dish that they had. Tonight we went out to eat there one last time and ordered something that we had always had good luck with in the past and not only was it extremely flavorless, the portion size had become so small that it's price was not worth it at all!! I talked to the server and tried to figure out why a dish that I had eaten so many times had become SO different and she had no idea, so she said she would go ask the manager. I had seen him running around our table quite a bit but he never even stopped to say sorry or ask what the problem was, even AFTER she had talked to him about our concerns. From what she told us, he said that they had been going through chefs quite frequently and they each want to change things to their liking. I finally cornered the manager on our way out and explained our disgust with the constant changes to what was once a great establishment. He just said "I'll talk to the chef about it". This is about the biggest waste of a good restaurant that I have seen in a long time. I would not waste my time there again as they change the menu so often that you can never be assured that your favorite dish will be anything like what it should be. I understand that each chef should have some lateral ability to change some things to their liking, however every restaurant needs to keep some of its fan favorites intact for the returning patrons to look forward to seeing on the menu. read more

Had Mothers Day dinner there. I ordered a spaghetti dish with lobster. The sauce was spicy and sweet, but was so powerful that I could not taste the lobster at all. Husband & daughter had steaks.
