I've been coming here for about 10 years now. I always buy the regular glazed donuts and the regular kolaches. This shop is consistent in my opinion. I can always expect the same great taste every time. The donuts are soft and the glaze is perfectly sweet. The taste of the kolaches is absolutely amazing. You'll be asked if you want your kolaches heated up. To this date, I can't find a donut shop that has better kolaches. I can honestly say that I prefer this donut shop over any large chain donut shop. Every once in a while, I would get free donut holes with my order. I would highly recommend this donut shop. This place has the best jalapeño kolaches ever! Unlike most vendors there Kolaches are not super bready and there donuts look and taste so fresh, and their apple fritters are as big as your head. read more

Love this donut store! The donuts are great. The donuts are light and fresh. The iced donuts are dipped by hand every morning.. There is always a great selection and I love trying new things. I really like how they expanded to character donuts to appeal to the many little kids that frequent the store. Try the kolaches too- you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been walking J's since I was a child to buy donuts from the incredibly nice and polite people who own it. No other donut place can compare for me, I'm sure it was because I was raised on these, but unless it is some gourmet, $10 donut, nothing compares to J's. They take the time with their donuts, they always taste and ARE fresh, you can very clearly see someone diligently making the next batch of donuts in the back. Just a testimony to the character of the lovely people who've owned this place, during the really bad ice storm some years back, my friends and I were playing outside in the parking lot and we're starting to get really cold, so we went and knocked on the door of J's because even though they were closed, we saw the workers/owners inside and figured they might let us warm up. Not only did they, but they let 3 hungry young teenage boys eat all the donuts they wanted for free while taking a break from the elements. For those thinking about giving J's a try, my advice would be to come in sooner rather than later. As it is a fresh donut place that doesn't have stuff in it to keep it fresh for millennia like other massive donut chains, the donuts taste better when you get the ones cooked earlier in the morning. That being said, I won't bat an eye at eating 3 day-old J's. Thank you J's. read more

All other donut places are posers! The donuts here are amazing. The fritters are delicious and the glazed donuts melt in your mouth. Some people complain about the line, but the line is there for a reason. I love the specialty decorated donuts for kids. Very creative. If you are close to Midway and Parker, stop in. Stale 2/5 . Walked in , asked for kolache flavors , got "yes" as an answer. Apple fritters were definitely stale, at 9:30 in the morning. Kolache was made from oily bread . Glazed donut was sub par. Overall wouldn't go there again. read more

WARNING - Do Not bother to go in if there is a line of people. I did and they were telling almost everyone that they were out of this and out of that. I wanted the same thing as everyone else - Glazed Donuts and of course they were out. But wait, they were out of almost everything else too. To be fair, the donuts are better then OK and the price is good but if your not interested in leftovers, forget them during morning drive time. This was about 8:20 AM. You would think they are use to this and would be prepared but NO. OK, only 20 minutes of my life wasted but it won't happen again. read more
