We had been waiting for 3 months(!) for our "other" electrician to come to make an assessment of why both of our bathrooms were suddenly out of electricity. Had multiple guys come out and give estimates but Juan was the only one that came up with different ideas on the fly. His solution was sound and his price was more than fair. In addition to that, his team showed up on time with a great attitude and was able to run a pair of circuits upstairs in under two hours without interrupting my work (no power interruptions) and with a minimal footprint. The original quoted price was lower than others by at least $25 and they were able to come by right away. He showed up on time with a mask and shoe covering. He was able to install a motion sensor light fixture without a problem. The GFCI issue was a little more complex and he gave me two options on how to fix it. Ended up cutting holes in the wall to rewire the two outlets in our master bath so it wouldn't keep tripping the GFCI. It was a good option since it didn't take as much time, but the final price was triple the original quote. I would give 5 stars, but the guy kept on pulling down his mask, exposing his nose. I have a duplex built in the 30's; although SDG&E provided new meters, the old wiring wasn't enough to handle modern amenities like AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer, an induction stovetop, and a 220V oven. Juan promptly provided a quote that was competitive with another company solicited here on Yelp. The final price was what he estimated - no changes; I appreciated that. Juan's crew arrived with masks and provided beefy electrical lines from the master shutoff to my circuit breaker boxes (under my house). They fixed years of sloppiness that accumulated over the years (in my circuit breaker boxes), and left it in code compliant condition. Juan also recommended adding 3 circuits for future additions to one of my units. The price was very fair. We were so happy!!!! I asked for yelp referrals late on a Tuesday night and everything was handled by early Wednesday morning. The owner came out himself. He was the same person who I spoke to and I greatly appreciated this as he inspired confidence enough that I will call him again. He also brought someone with him so everything was handled quickly. They are vaccinated and came with face masks. More details: We had a circuit breaker that seemed stuck (couldn't be switched on or off) and affecting multiple outlets and rooms being without electricity. We also had a chandelier that is 2 stories high that no longer worked. All of a sudden, I lost power in 3 rooms without adding a new device to an outlet, and found out that one of the AFCI breakers in the main panel tripped. It kept tripping even without load. While suspecting a faulty AFCI breaker, I used Yelp to hire an electrician to do a correct diagnosis and fix it. Juan of JR Electric was the first to respond in the early morning with a quote. We would highly recommend Juan and his crew at JR Electric. We moved in January to a home that was built in 1988. It required gutting the living/dining rooms, kitchen and three baths. We started with a sole-practitioner electrician. He did good work but at a snail's pace and did not show up consistently. That was very frustrating to us. So we decided to make a mid-job change. JR Electric was recommended to us by the primary contractor on our job. We were pleased with everything about them and their work ethic. Juan arrived with a crew of four and they immediately went to work installing nearly 50 can lights, rewiring baths, connecting a whole-house fan and an electrically controlled Solatube plus completely re-wiring for a new kitchen and consolidating multiple hallway light circuits into a single circuit. They even hung some work lights in our garage! When we had a question about anything or wanted a change they were quick to respond. Juan's crew include some family members. They have a joyful attitude with one another which makes having them in your home a joy for the homeowner.
