WOW!!! 15 STARS for Bill Lopez is the greatest electrician in San Diego! I had an electrical emergency...no power, no wi-fi, no computer and I had called 4 other electricians and was put on hold for long amounts of time with no appointment. Then I called Billy Lopez at Budget Electric. OMG, he directly answered the phone himself, and talked me through FaceTime and fixed my problem with no charge plus extra suggestions for labeling my panel. I told him I would be very happy to pay him but he said "no charge". So I am at least writing him a review instead. I would give Budget Electric a solid four stars. Bill's work is excellent and you definately get the feeling that the job is done right. The only downside is that Bill charges $100 an hour and is quick to point out additional work that needs to be done. I don't blame him at all and it probably does need to get done. But when your on a fixed budget its hard to come up with more cash. I think Bill's work is excellent but price is full retail so I have to take off one star for value. read more

Bill and Jose did a great job putting in some outdoor wiring for our driveway gates. They were able to fish wiring through our 90 year old house. Inside, wherever they had to remove paneling, they replaced it better than the way they found it. Outside, they had to trench through our lawn and did so in a way that you can't tell where the trench was. Also had to cut and trench across driveway in two places. The patching was very neatly done. Too bad I can only give Bill and his company 5 stars. He deserves more. I'm a retired contractor and architect, so I have worked with hundreds of electricians over the past three decades and I rarely post reviews, but I want everyone to know how good these guys are. Bill and Javier's dedication, knowledge, skill, and "get it done" attitude set them apart from all of the other electricians I've worked with. Our commercial service project was very complex and it had to be completed in a very short time-frame. Every time his custom equipment suppliers, the city permit office, and SDG&E tried to throw up a roadblock that would have killed our schedule, Bill simply refused to take "No" for an answer. He pushed and prodded and moved mountains and got it done. All for a fair price. He simply has an outstanding dedication to his customers and his craft. I only wish I had met him earlier in my career so that I could have had the pleasure of working with him for many years. I was pleased to come across Budget Electric for the work needed in Santee San Diego. I live in Los Angeles and was calling around on behalf of my mother. First of, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, IF YOU WANT HONEST WORK, AND NOT BE SCAMMED, PLEASE GIVE HIM YOUR BUSINESS, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I did not read any reviews on this company and was pricing at the time. I got Billy / owner on the phone and asked me questions and so on. We then scheduled for him to come out to my mothers house to give us his opinion. Mind you I called another company (United Electric) and was quoted $1500.00 and was told if we do not take care of asap, the box will catch on fire. Billy came out a few days later for the estimate, and found out my mother did not need a new box..... Billy was also kind enough to turn on the lights in the kitchen before he left. I hired Billy that afternoon and scheduled the work. Billy fixed my mothers kitchen along with all the outlets in the home that was not working and paid less than $250.00. If you can do the math and see the difference, that's all I have to say about this company. Yes, I gave Budget Electric 5 Stars, of which I'm glad to award every one of them! I met a great man this morning, Billy Lopez, owner-manager of Budget Electric. We had been experiencing weird electrical problems in our home that were hard to trace down. As it turned out, it was in the main service entrance. SDG&E said that we were responsible to make the repairs ourselves. I was a bit perplexed at that point, and didn't know who to call. My wife suggested I try looking on Yelp.com, whom our daughter had used successfully a few days ago to locate a good mechanic. It was there that I found Budget Electric last night. They were local to our area, and my call was returned immediately. It was Billy Lopez, the owner. I explained our dilemma, to which he said he would be out early the next morning. He did just as he said, taking time out of his already-busy schedule to help me (instead of merely sending one of his men). Billy located the problem almost immediately, went and bought the needed part, returned and replaced the defective item. He did a thorough job, even giving me some handy tips. We were good to go, problem solved and fixed! Billy was very friendly, as well as professional. He even gave us a very reasonable price, just as the name of his company implies: Budget Electric. Although I'm not a neophyte when it comes to solving most of my own home problems I had an entire electrical circuit go out that wasn't at the circuit breaker and was beyond my capabilities. I found Budget Electric and owner Billy Lopez on Yelp, through the Better Business Bureau, and gave him a call. He returned my call almost immediately and as soon as he was able to break off another job a couple days later he came out to my remote home in the outskirts of the county. He spent a couple of hours locating the problem and came out the next morning to make repairs and resolve some other wiring issues as well. You could see that when things weren't easy to solve it only hardened his resolve and made him work harder to find the problem. He was polite, thorough, explained exactly what and why he was doing things, and kept the bill reasonable despite a lot of effort and work on his part. I was extremely pleased with the service and recommend this company to anyone who has an electrical problem in their home. They well deserve the five star rating which I gave them. read more
