Chicken quesadilla. Tater tots and mini tacos.
Diana H.

Tater tots were so crispy and perfect. All the food we got was amazing for our girls night out. We did wait for a good 5 minutes to be seated after we arrived. Waitress was great. However be careful walking if you go on the outdoor patio. Very unleveled brick pavers for walking. Proceed with caution.

Stinger wrap

Stopped in on a Thursday night to meet up with a friend who lives north. Figured this was a great middle spot. JP Dwyers is exactly what you would expect for an older Irish pub. A ton of character here it was great. Ordered a few Guinness, got a stinger wrap which was great too, just a little heavy on the grease side. My friend ordered a burger and oh man it was almost the size of a soccer ball. I was concerned with the burger being that big that the taste wouldn't be great but he said it was great! I've heard they have great wings so I'll have to go back and try some. The space could use a little TLC but if you're looking for a pub to get some Irish food and drinks, this is your spot. Great staff too! The hostess also took our orders, she was great.

Chicken wings and rings

Stopped for a beer and the lure of chicken wings done us in. Tons of choices for sauces but what we didn't realize was there was a 1.50 up charge for them, or at least, the bourbon/medium sauce we got...which was really good. The wings were crispy without asking for extra crispy and they came out almost too hot to eat. Asked about the Celtic chips, on the menu, but told they were no longer available. We got black and tan onion rings. Really good; tad greasy, but they're cooked in oil, so what can you expect?! Came with a not too spicy chipotle like sauce. That was good as well. They had two IPA's on tap, Fiddlehead and Buffalo's go-to...Big Ditch Hayburner. The music inside was good and they had live music on the patio on a Sunday afternoon.

Beer!

We met a group of local friends here before a show at the theater next door. We got a large round table upstairs for 7 of us & our server was super nice & efficient & friendly. Great cold beers on tap, great burgers, salads, wings & huge portions. Everyone enjoyed their meal!

After a day on the boat we decided to pop over to NT and find a place to eat. It was a beautiful Saturday evening and everywhere was super busy. Since we did not have a reservation a few places couldn't even seat us that evening. It was a bit of a wait here too but there was a band so we decided to come to JP Dwyer's. The restaurant is pretty big. Lots of tables inside and they can accommodate groups. They have a large outdoor patio as well with a good amount of seating. It's definitely a historic building and divey kind of bar. First of all the service was not good. It took a long time to get menus, waters and finally drinks. Trying to get refills was even harder. Once we were able to order the food took a ridiculous amount of time. We waited well over an hour. We ordered very standard bar type food. The server barely came back to check on us. People who came after us got their food before us. We asked the server about the food status at one point and she said it wasn't ready and she would check. 15 minutes later the food came. Some was hot and fresh. Other items were cold, one item was not edible. I understand it's busy and places are understaffed but we would have rather gotten the food as it was cooked so people could eat their food hot. It didn't seem like the server cared much or was paying attention to when the food was up. My pizza logs were hot and tasty. The sweet potato fries were cold. I did love that they were shoestring and still very crispy. They would have been even better hot. My significant other had the steak sandwich and he said it was fine. Other friends had the wings and said they were very good. Another friend had a burger which came out burnt, like had black char on one side. It was really obvious and the kitchen should have caught this and not sent it out. It took so long to get our food we ended up having to drive the boat home in the dark. Not a great situation. Seems we came on a bad night. We did enjoy the band and people watching. If you come to NT in the summer on a weekend make a reservation for the place you really want to go to avoid this kind of thing.

Came on a busy Saturday evening. Waited 45 min for a table (understandable) and got seated outside by the live band. Service was slow, but you could tell our waitress was busting her butt trying to take care of everyone. It took over two hours to serve our table of 6 our meals (no apps/dessert). There were some positive reviews of some things (cheesesteak, pizza logs), but the burger I ordered (medium) came out so over cooked it was charred black on both sides and was inedible. Not to mention the fries were ice cold. The waitress noticed I didn't eat it and offered to take it off the bill (much appreciated). She stated the kitchen was short staffed. Not to be harsh, but this is not my problem. The restaurant was more focused on pumping in the customers to get money than appropriately seating for their staffs capacity. They are putting their servers in a bad position and now I have no dinner. It would be a miracle if we ever came back here.

Haddock fish fry

Another takeout order, this time Dwyer's Ordered the haddock fish fry, very good, included coleslaw, tartar, and fries. Fish was crispy and firm. Also opted for the cheese burger, wow, it was huge and delicious. Didn't try the wings, but they're known for them and their sauces.

Bunratty burger.

Went to Dwyer's to celebrate my birthday with a good friend. We both went for the fingers this time. I decided to upgrade the flavor to the Jameson bbq. Is it worth the extra $1.50? No. It had good flavor, but I couldn't taste the Jameson in it. Also, the breading on the fingers kept coming off when I was cutting into it with the knife. Not sure if it was because of the knife, or the bbq sauce. Maybe skip the fingers all together and just go for the wings, burgers and tater tots. My friend commented that the service was quicker than usual here. I want to comment that the waitress was more attentive than usual.

Ask the Community - JP Dwyers Pub

Haven't been to Dwyer's since pre Covid and would like to attend before a show at riviera theater ?is it still just hoping you can grab a table or have they improved on this?

My friends and I have gone before shows recently. It's near-impossible to grab a table unless you're there by 5, which is about 3 hours before most shows start. They are packed & under-staffed, and service is very slow.

It's very nice when you walk in and feels comfortable; dinner was much more busy & loud than lunch which is to be expected. The menu looked great and so we were all looking forward to tasty meals. For dinner, someone got the special of Nashville hot chicken sandwich, a Rachel (Reuben but with turkey), Caprese salad, and a pasta dish. The Rachel was good just really big! The chicken sandwich was awful, considering it was a "special." The chicken wasn't cooked enough and the sauce had a bad taste. The salad was good and the pasta dish. The chicken sandwich caused stomach issues the next day. We decided to give it another shot recently. For lunch, the Caprese was ordered again, Potato skins as an appetizer, Buffalo chicken wrap (mild), and Bacon cheeseburger. The skins were the best, followed again by the salad. The burger was bland and the chicken wrap (with warm lettuce, ick) had poorly cooked chicken, which caused stomach issues the next day, tho we also question the state of the bleu cheese. We had told the waitress that we wanted the appetizer first but it came with all the main dishes so that was awkward and disappointing. Although it's a cool place to watch a game, that's the only reason we would go back, not for the food. We had hoped our second visit would be better, but not so much.

My…read moreselection tonight was their Hefeweizen, which was excellent and I would highly recommend to Hef fans. I paired that with a tasty pile of sweet potato waffle fries and a side of honey for dipping them in. The fries were a perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside, just a touch of salt, and the honey is genius (it's an extra $1 and well worth it). Several other beers on the menu look tempting too, and they make their own pizza dough! Another plus: the owners are friendly awesome people. I am very likely to return. The inside seating area is larger than it looks like from the outside, with plenty of seating at the bar and at tables, plus an outdoor patio. Restrooms are clearly marked and easy to access. There are several large TVs showing various sports games - no closed captions though. Music is nice, there was an upbeat jazz background while I was there. It's on the louder side but not too loud to have conversations. If you don't get lucky with a parking spot out front, there is a decent sized free parking lot just down the street and around a corner. This is another win for the beer passport!

The place is huge with ample seating at both the bar and tables. Almost everyone was at the bar and we wanted to taste our beers in peace, so we went for a table. My wife and I each got a flight, so I got to try most of their offerings. My favorites were the Steampunk Cider and the Winter Ale. Both were packed with flavor! The bartender was friendly and checked on us a few times, even though he was swamped by those at the bar. We didn't opt for any food from the kitchen, but were glad to see there's the option to chow down while drinking. An added perk was that finding parking on a weeknight was super easy. We were able to practically park in front of it. I would definitely return. Cool little spot!
