We came here on a Saturday to hear a blues band. This place is the quintessential dive bar, with lots of vintage accoutrements. The food was decent and reasonably priced. There were 6 draft beers available, served in plastic disposable cups. There is ample street parking. read more

I dined here with my family Friday night to enjoy their Friday fish menu. This is a small hole in the wall style bar that you likely would pass by, wonder why there are so many cars and then drive past. It is filled with locals, but it is a well kept secret. Everyone's meals were good, and in a time when prices are going up across the board we agreed the menu here was still reasonably priced. It took a little while for our waitress to come over because it appeared they were short handed and also very busy, so we were understanding. Once she did come over we received our drinks and food promptly. This place was recommended by a friend who lives in NT. The Friday fish fry during Lent is very popular, and the wait when we got there at 4:40 was about 20 minutes. We chatted while we waited with one of my co-workers who claims he comes every week. I had the fish and scallops, my wife had the fish fry. Both were very good, although the breading on the fish was a little heavier than I liked. There are small complimentary portions of German potato salad and coleslaw while you are waiting for the main course. The bread that was served could also have been a little fresher. There is a squeeze bottle of tartar sauce on the table along with the ketchup, which is very much appreciated by my wife in particular. We have been going there for Years and have had nothing but rave reviews from all out of town guests we bring to savor the Flawless Fish Fries, Side Salads and oven baked potatoes. The hors d'oeuvres consisting of the most unforgettably mouth watering Homemade Warm German Potato Salad and their sweet 'n sour coleslaw makes this meal a totally worthwhile experience. Went yesterday for a Friday Fish Fry - per Yelp it's the best in the area. Walked into the bar area, super divey and I loved it. The host wasn't waiting at the end of the bar between the dining room and the bar ... But that's where you add your name to a list for a table. Hubby and I waited about 30 minutes for a table, but got drinks at the bar quickly enough. Watched some basketball and chatted with some bar guests. Beer and a mixed drink came to $6... Shots are super cheap if that's your poison. When we sat for dinner it was a small table directly under the TV. Can't always get the best table, oh well. We ordered the fish fry (and there was at least one on every table). In less than 5 minutes our Server brought out hot potato salad with bacon and some kind of slaw with apple cider vinegar. Needed a little salt and pepper but they were delish. Our giant dinners arrived less than 5 minutes after the first round: big pieces of fish, fries, Mac salad and more typical cole slaw. So many people order this fish fry that they leave the tater in a bottle on the table. I was impressed with the speed, prices and hospitality. Don't expect 5 star, don't even expect 3 star service or level of food. Its a dive in the best ways. You don't need it. I love Broadway hotel and will definitely be going back. read more

Ok what to say what to say. The good with the bad (not to much bad). Luckily we got there on Friday around 5:15 pm. We were lucky enough to get a table (the one at the entry of the dining room) where all the traffic is. Ok we received awesome service at first we each got a dish of coal-slaw and German potato salad. Both were ok and we received a basket of very fresh bread, was good. Ordered our fish and it took over an hour for it to be served. It was very tasty. The platter came with French fry's (no salt), and more slaw. To liven up the fry's I thought I would use the vinegar cruet that was on the table. The vinegar is watered down. All in all the meal was good and very filling. The pore people standing in the bar area waiting for a table for an hour not so lucky. read more

I asked the hostess what the deal was, and she said they called and told her what time they would be there. They had a bar full of people on a waiting list, buying drinks waiting. Bought two fish frys (take-out); left much to be desired. Both fillets were smaller than any other fish fry I've ever had. Priced at $15 each, they were more expensive than most other restaurants in the area. Got them home and there was no bread or German potato salad as promised on their website. This was our first time here. Head about it in the Buffalo News and tried going during a Friday in Lent but the wait was over an hour. Finally went last week and was impressed with the fish fries we ordered. Starting with the little bowls of German potato salad and sweet and sour cabbage that were very good followed by an ample sized battered haddock with fries, Cole slaw and macaroni salad. Food was very good. Ambiance was a little lacking but it is primarily a bar but we didn't go for the ambiance. A little loud but the service was good and fast. Will definitely go back. read more

My parents decided to take us here for my dad's 77th birthday. I was unaware that it was a dive bar. The name led me to believe we were going to eat in a restaurant at a hotel. (I'm not sure why it has the name it does. It's not a hotel, and Broadway is 20 miles away in Buffalo). So we drove 20 miles from Lockport to eat there. When we pulled up in front of this dump I was skeptical, but the Fish Fridays have a good reputation, and I went in. Let's be straight: I don't particularly like fish frys, so I intended from the start to get something else, shrimp or scallops most likely. My dad had scallops on the brain as well. So we go in. They give us 2 menus for 4 people (strike 2 after the dive bar thing being strike 1). I order a combo plate: Scallops, shrimp and a small fish. We are then informed they don't have any scallops and won't until October because their distributor is out of them. Strange, since every store and seafood market around has them. So I said I don't want anything and I'll wait in the car (I was really hungry and didn't want to watch my parents and son eat). This ruined the dinner and everyone got takeout and left. I went to Mighty Taco. My parents won't speak to me now. The Broadway Hotel ruined our birthday dinner by using the only distributor around with a scallop shortage. read more

Love this place, its nothing fancy but it is a happy little back street bar. You can usually listen to good music and the food is great! Only thing i can honestly say is there is one bartender( tall blonde) that makes me avoid going in there, but now that I know when she works, I try to avoid patronizing the place. Someone should think about replacing that girl, she is rude and nasty to people. Other than that I love the Broadway! read more

Went to the broadway for the first time recently and absolutely loved this backyard bar! The bartender (Connie) was so welcoming and helpful to all my husband and I's questions about the area. We went in for a drink and ended up staying all night, drinking and munching on awesome food. The service was wonderful and so was the atmosphere! Highly recommend! read more
