The environment is clean, safe, and full of engaging activities that keep him entertained for hours. I really appreciate how welcoming the staff are and how well the space is set up for children to play, explore, and have fun. It's also a great place for kids to socialize and burn off energy. Every visit has been a positive experience, and it's become one of our favorite places to go!

A Little Kid Wonderland -- Clean, Creative, and So Much Fun!…read more I went here for a two-year-old's birthday party, and this place completely blew me away. Walking in feels like stepping into a perfectly crafted mini town built just for kids -- every tiny storefront, every little prop, every corner is full of personality and charm. The amount of detail is honestly phenomenal, and you can see the love and creativity behind it the minute you step inside. One thing that impressed me right away was how spotless everything was. The floors, the play areas, the furniture -- everything looked fresh and clean from top to bottom. Kids wear little non-slip socks (which I love), and parents wear booties over their shoes to keep the play spaces clean and safe. That simple touch made the whole place feel extra cared-for and well-maintained. It even smelled clean -- not like chemicals, but genuinely fresh, like a place that's cleaned often and cleaned well. You can tell they take real pride in keeping this space beautiful. Once the party got going, the kids were in heaven. They were running from the salon to the market to the vet clinic -- completely immersed in pretend play like they had stepped into their own tiny city. Their imaginations lit up in every direction. One minute they were doing hair, the next stocking groceries, then suddenly treating stuffed animals at the vet. They even have a bright, colorful LEGO wall that adds an extra burst of creativity and charm to the space. It's such a fun touch, and it fits perfectly with the whole imaginative, kid-sized world they've created. And each of the places where the kids "spend money" has the cutest little cash registers stocked with pretend dollar bills and coins. The kids were ringing each other up, paying for groceries, taking orders, and making change -- it turned the whole experience into fun little "transactions" that made the pretend play feel even more real. Watching them hand over tiny bills and "count" their change was absolutely adorable. I even pretended to get my hair washed, cut and styled at the salon! On top of that, they also had a blast at the firehouse, putting on the little fire jackets and helmets and pretending to race out on a "call." Then they were pretending to "make and serve" pizzas in the pizzeria like little chefs, and taking turns "serving" food at the diner, which looks like a mini restaurant straight out of a movie. Every play space is its own world, and the attention to detail makes each one feel magical. Even the adults were amazed. I heard several parents say, "Wow, I've never seen anything like this!" And honestly, same -- the whole setup is unforgettable. They also have the cutest little soft-play area just for the tiniest tots (6 months to 2 years old). It's enclosed with a charming white fence and includes a soft slide, a mini ball pit, and cushioned toys made just for crawlers and new walkers. It's thoughtfully designed, safe, and gives the littlest ones plenty of room to explore without getting mixed into the bigger-kid excitement. The party setup was honestly so cute! They served pizza and juice boxes, which the kids loved, and the table was decorated beautifully with bright colors and fun details that made everything feel extra festive. The photo nook was absolutely adorable--the balloon arrangement, the "Happy Birthday" sign, and the little character cutouts created the perfect spot for pictures. It all came together so nicely and made the whole celebration feel really special. Everything from the design to the cleanliness to the overall experience was top-notch. I really can't say enough about how well put together this place is. I can't wait to bring my grandchildren back here for some playtime -- they are going to absolutely love it. If you're looking for a fun, creative, beautiful, and incredibly clean space for a birthday party or just some imaginative play, this place is a must. I'd recommend it without hesitation!!

But Mulberry Lane is a notch above bc not only is it a play cafe but there is staff there to watch your lils while you get to go elsewhere within the building whether that's in the lil tables visibly nearby or in one of their neighboring and partnering restaurants. I'd toootally get my kids memberships if we lived nearby. Since we probably would only go weekends for an hour or two, I'm glad there are the options for one time pay or multi hour passes for future use. Since we weren't sure if we'd be back, we gave it a try for one hour. Prices may change but our first time was $18 per child per hour. This may seem high for only one hour, but my kids had fun and my hour without worrying about them or being interrupted was very productive so it was worth it. Staff are friendly. I only wished they had gluten free options for the kiddos to enjoy after their play. Guess we can bring our own next time! :)

I booked the colossal 5:45 PM-7:45 PM on January 31,2026 time slot and paid with the expectation of having the FULL HOUR to celebrate. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the previous party was still in the room, and it was not ready for us. We were unable to enter until approximately 7:05-7:10 PM. At that point, the room still needed to be cleaned and decorated, and no children were allowed inside until everything was completed. Food was served around 7:15 7:20PM, and shortly after around 7:29 PM we were asked to if we wanted to do the dance party again since they went and done it already while i was inside the room decorating and settling the party favors, while the children had just started eating. We were then informed that we needed to leave by 7:55 PM because the facility closed at 8:00 PM. As a result, we had less than one hour to actually celebrate, which is not what I paid for or expected. Everything felt rushed, and we lost a significant amount of our scheduled time due to circumstances beyond our control. While I appreciate the offer of a free pass on another day, I do not feel this adequately addresses the situation. The experience and time lost during my daughter's birthday cannot be replaced. I believe this matter deserves further consideration, and I respectfully request fair compensation for the time and value that were not provided as agreed. Most importantly, my daughter was very disappointed, as she did not get to fully enjoy her special day due to the limited time. Never again will I book and reserve a birthday party here for any of my children.

I am writing with some concerns about the way my family was treated by your staff on Saturday morning at the Alexandria location. First, let me share that my wife and I discovered Scramble at Christmastime, and have now been several times to both the Alexandria and Falls Church locations. I felt we had discovered a true gem - a place where we could retreat with our now two-year-old for a morning or afternoon of fun. The whole environment is designed for fun, and I appreciated how inclusive things felt, as we interacted with your staff and strangers with smiles all around. But our visit on Saturday left us feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and like second-class citizens. We visited the Falls Church location a few weeks ago and asked about birthday options outside of hosting a party, because we envisioned a very small gathering. The staff member there explained that if you do not book the birthday package, you cannot bring in outside cake or balloons and that we would only be able to purchase food from you all. Got it - all good! We invited two friends and their little ones to gather with us on Saturday morning, we paid the entry fees for everyone who joined, and we ordered a few pizzas to enjoy while our little ones ran around. We were first approached by your staff member, Cora, shortly after receiving our food. She came to our table and told us to move the two tables that we had pulled together apart. Her approach was curt - she didn't start by explaining any rationale for what the issue was - she simply gave us the directive. I asked her if she was serious because of the tone - I was honestly surprised - and then she explained that it was a fire hazard. So we moved the tables apart and returned to our fun. About twenty minutes later, while we were all away from the tables where our belongings were sitting, Cora approached again. This time, she snatched a gift bag while my wife was nearby. She told my wife that gifts were not allowed, and proceeded to move it outside of the play area. I intervened to ask her what the issue was, and she explained that we could not have a gift without having a party. I then went to the front desk and spoke with her and the party manager for a while to ask what the issue was and to share that I felt like we were being targeted because we had two separate interactions, and none of this was explained when we checked into the venue. We are not rule-breakers. I am fastidious in honoring the rules of any space I enter. My wife jokes about me being too straight-laced. I understand that Scramble has rules, and have no desire to work around them. I believe that this interaction could have been resolved through a simple dialogue where a member of your staff could have politely shared the policy and asked us to make a shift. Instead, we felt like delinquent teenagers, and the experience was deeply embarrassing and off-putting. Our guests, visiting for the first time after our rave reviews, wondered what the issue was. After Cora removed the gift bag without approaching us to explain things, I felt unwelcome and uneasy about even staying. I felt the message she sent to us was that we were second-class citizens that day - those deserving of respect at your establishment are those who pay a premium for expanded services. And I could not help but wonder if the interactions would be different if half of us were not people of color. I am not sharing this because I seek retribution against Cora. I share this instead, hoping that your establishment can be more considerate of your guests. You say that your mission is to "provide extraordinary play for all children"; I hope you will consider that the environment you create for families has an impact on your ability to attain that mission.

We went there during a recent heat wave, and it was such a relief to have a place to play with air conditioning (and that wasn't tearing up our own home). There are activities for kids of various ages, including a baby-centric exploration area and a huge maze that's good for elementary aged kids. There are lots of big soft blocks to stack, ball pits, and cute themed play areas. But it's definitely for younger kids. Tweens and up probably wouldn't be interested. The cons: Supervision is minimal and some kids get very rowdy. Rules seem to be enforced in a haphazard way. I've seen kids standing on the windowsills and banging on the glass, stacking toys to dive onto the ground, and piling four at a time onto the slides. You should keep an eye on the toddler crowd to make sure that older kids aren't shoving them. Lots of parents grab a drink or food to relax while their kids run wild. If that's your vibe, this place is a good fit. But it's also good for parents who want to be a bit more hands on--you can let your child explore while keeping them in close sight for much of the space. Also remember to wear socks!

It was definitely over-crowded and quite hard to find a table to sit down. We eventually found one right at the back of the store. The kids had the best time but scramble employees were no where to be found! There was no one monitoring kids. My kid got hurt a few times by slightly older kids and it was quite chaotic. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though).
