My daughter had so much fun with the employees and other kiddos! I opted to sit downstairs which is louder, but there is a quiet work/study space upstairs for additional cost. Before we left I also ordered food to go from Shorty's Deluxe. Childcare and food all in one Highly recommend Mulberry Lane for all the parents!

But Mulberry Lane is a notch above bc not only is it a play cafe but there is staff there to watch your lils while you get to go elsewhere within the building whether that's in the lil tables visibly nearby or in one of their neighboring and partnering restaurants. I'd toootally get my kids memberships if we lived nearby. Since we probably would only go weekends for an hour or two, I'm glad there are the options for one time pay or multi hour passes for future use. Since we weren't sure if we'd be back, we gave it a try for one hour. Prices may change but our first time was $18 per child per hour. This may seem high for only one hour, but my kids had fun and my hour without worrying about them or being interrupted was very productive so it was worth it. Staff are friendly. I only wished they had gluten free options for the kiddos to enjoy after their play. Guess we can bring our own next time! :)

It was like having her own big playroom with new friends to meet and play along side with. We normally visit on Weekends and on those visits it's pretty busy but still fun and plenty of room to meet and explore. We arrived and the party room smelled AWFUL- like the party before us was a full on weed party. I was stunned and freaking out. All of my closest friends with their sweet kiddos were about to arrive and we would all be stuffed in this tiny room of stench. the party host noticed right away and offered to try air freshener and I said yes and asked for the manager. The manager came over. I asked her....how can a birthday party at a venue for little children be filled with...this? I was appalled at her response. First she said, maam, weed is legal in Virginia. Ok in that case why don't we go ahead and also allow parties to serve alcohol and smoke cigarettes. THIS IS A CHILDRENS PLAY AREA! Who cares if it's legal! How is that relevant to my concern!? Then she quickly backtracked saying of course they weren't smoking in here, they must have just smoked outside and it was just on their persons when they entered. Ummmm no. The entire room REEKS. She refused to do anything for us other than offer to mop (but we're all in socks...no thanks). Later they took $6 off my balance and gave me three day pass vouchers (I've always gotten these in the past after large parties). Did nothing to offer any kind of discount. I told them that I would sadly have to give a one star review and the response was just...shrug. Awful. Not returning and don't recommend this for birthdays anymore.

I wrote the following note to the staff at Scramble on February 2nd. I received no reply - it…read moreapparently registered no concern with them. I am writing with some concerns about the way my family was treated by your staff on Saturday morning at the Alexandria location. First, let me share that my wife and I discovered Scramble at Christmastime, and have now been several times to both the Alexandria and Falls Church locations. I felt we had discovered a true gem - a place where we could retreat with our now two-year-old for a morning or afternoon of fun. The whole environment is designed for fun, and I appreciated how inclusive things felt, as we interacted with your staff and strangers with smiles all around. But our visit on Saturday left us feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and like second-class citizens. We visited the Falls Church location a few weeks ago and asked about birthday options outside of hosting a party, because we envisioned a very small gathering. The staff member there explained that if you do not book the birthday package, you cannot bring in outside cake or balloons and that we would only be able to purchase food from you all. Got it - all good! We invited two friends and their little ones to gather with us on Saturday morning, we paid the entry fees for everyone who joined, and we ordered a few pizzas to enjoy while our little ones ran around. We were first approached by your staff member, Cora, shortly after receiving our food. She came to our table and told us to move the two tables that we had pulled together apart. Her approach was curt - she didn't start by explaining any rationale for what the issue was - she simply gave us the directive. I asked her if she was serious because of the tone - I was honestly surprised - and then she explained that it was a fire hazard. So we moved the tables apart and returned to our fun. About twenty minutes later, while we were all away from the tables where our belongings were sitting, Cora approached again. This time, she snatched a gift bag while my wife was nearby. She told my wife that gifts were not allowed, and proceeded to move it outside of the play area. I intervened to ask her what the issue was, and she explained that we could not have a gift without having a party. I then went to the front desk and spoke with her and the party manager for a while to ask what the issue was and to share that I felt like we were being targeted because we had two separate interactions, and none of this was explained when we checked into the venue. We are not rule-breakers. I am fastidious in honoring the rules of any space I enter. My wife jokes about me being too straight-laced. I understand that Scramble has rules, and have no desire to work around them. I believe that this interaction could have been resolved through a simple dialogue where a member of your staff could have politely shared the policy and asked us to make a shift. Instead, we felt like delinquent teenagers, and the experience was deeply embarrassing and off-putting. Our guests, visiting for the first time after our rave reviews, wondered what the issue was. After Cora removed the gift bag without approaching us to explain things, I felt unwelcome and uneasy about even staying. I felt the message she sent to us was that we were second-class citizens that day - those deserving of respect at your establishment are those who pay a premium for expanded services. And I could not help but wonder if the interactions would be different if half of us were not people of color. I am not sharing this because I seek retribution against Cora. I share this instead, hoping that your establishment can be more considerate of your guests. You say that your mission is to "provide extraordinary play for all children"; I hope you will consider that the environment you create for families has an impact on your ability to attain that mission.

Since it was our first visit, Cora took the time to walk us through the layout and answer all of our questions. The food was fresh, delicious, and exceeded our expectations. As an added bonus, they have Wi-Fi! I was able to get some work done while my toddler had a blast playing. Highly recommend this place--we'll definitely be coming here from now on!

I have been…read morearound the toddler play gym circuit and I am truly a fan of this location due to it's varied activities, top notch birthday parties, and flexibility to meet the needs of many families. First off, the instructors and front desk are absolutely fantastic. They pay attention to the children, make moving your body fun, and are easy to chat with when you have questions. Many of the same staff is the same from when the business opened over a year ago which says a lot about the business itself. Flexiblity: I have attended cooking classes, art classes, movement classes, and parents' morning out classes here and all were fantastic. Our preschool was even able to organize a private multi-hour class date here when we were closed for a teacher workday. Parents could leave or stay, or even do some work in the warm and welcoming. lobby. Birthday Parties: I love the fact that booking a private party gives you use of the gym and party room so you can really spread out. The lobby has toys and tables which allows for a really natural transitional time between each activity which is a nice touch. Now that summer is here, I will definitely drop in one of their classes. We are lucky to have a spot like this so close to us.

It was definitely over-crowded and quite hard to find a table to sit down. We eventually found one right at the back of the store. The kids had the best time but scramble employees were no where to be found! There was no one monitoring kids. My kid got hurt a few times by slightly older kids and it was quite chaotic. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though).

We waited at the front desk for quite a long time with no staff present. Eventually, a staff member named Annaia saw us but appeared to be walking away until I called her over. When she finally assisted us, her attitude was very rude and impatient. Her manner was abrupt and unprofessional. When I mentioned that we had been waiting for a long time, she simply responded that they were "very busy," in a dismissive tone, without any apology or acknowledgment. I understand that things can get busy, but basic courtesy and respect toward customers should always be maintained. This was the first time I've encountered such poor service here, and it was quite disappointing given my past experiences. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service to prevent this from happening again.
