It's poor customer service to not update customers, allow them to cancel, OR provide a discount. The dumplings and bun taste good and light seasoned. The Chocolate XLB tastes good either but you need to eat it while it's still warm, if not the dough gonna become soggy. I wish they fix this. Three of us dine in today. Food amount $70. Tipped $8.(11%) It's not the best tip but not the worst either. As we leave the table, our waitress stopped us and demanded 15% or more tip. She embarrassed us in front of other customers as if we did not leave any tip. In U.S., a tip is a VOLUNTARY AMOUNT left by a customer for servers. Tipping is NOT MANDATORY. Waitress can NOT DEMAND a set of amount of tip to customers. Note to the owners , train your staffs in a well manner. Shrimp and pork dumplings are generously filled and flavorful. Huge serving of green beans with garlic was perfectly cooked- impressive for take out! Still some crunch, so good. We've been eating here about once every two weeks, trying different items on the menu, and so far every dish has been delicious. They have great portions, so I definitely suggest ordering family style when eating here (as Chinese food is intended to be). I've been very happy to find authentic items like the shredded pork with bamboo shoots, beef rolls, homestyle tofu, spicy oil wontons, etc. But those who aren't quite ready to depart from American Chinese food (orange chicken, beef with broccoli), they have those too! Some of the heartier entrees come with a side of rice, ask them if you're not sure. They also have great chow mein and fried rice if you prefer your carbs to be packed with protein and veggies. Almost every time we eat here I'll get the cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and snowpea leaves. It's a small restaurant in a shopping center with lots of parking. The restaurant is following all of the COVID protocols with mask wearing, tables spread apart, available hand sanitizer, etc. For this visit we dined in, we were greeted immediately and sat down. The eggplant was our favorite and star of our meal, the szechuan sauce was amaazingggg and not too spicy. The dumplings were hand made and you could tell were freshly made. I have gotten food to go and eaten here once for lunch and each time everything was fantastic. I've tried a number of their dishes and never had a bad one. So far I have tried the Dan Dan noodles, the soybean oil and pork noodles, the eggplant, the XLBs, the pork and shrimp dumplings, and it was all amazing. We decided to try Joyee's since we were craving dumplings and were not disappointed! My go-to order for places that serve dumplings are the pork and chive dumplings and xiaolongbao (soup dumplings; you must try them at least once if you see they are offered on a menu.) We also ordered char siu pork buns and an order of salt and pepper pork ribs, as this was one of my favorite dishes growing up and my SO had not tried this before. The service was very fast and prompt, and the interior was sparkling clean. We waited probably fifteen minutes at most for our food-- the pork and chive dumplings came out first. They have little sauce dishes so that you can mix your own black vinegar and soy sauce and chili oil to your liking. I loved the wrapper on these dumplings, not too thick and not too thin, but I definitely tasted a hint of peanut oil in these which I am not used to. However, they were filling and tasty. The xiaolongbao was my definite favorite-- plenty of hot, flavorful soup came out the moment I bit into my XLB, and the pork flavor was on point. Once again there was some kind of spice or flavor in the filling that was quite prominent-- perhaps star anise or five spice?-- that I was not used to, but these beat out Din Tai Fung's XLB in terms of price point, size, and overall tastiness. The dough was rolled out to just the perfect thickness that I like and the soup inside was so savory. The salt and pepper pork ribs came with a bowl of white rice which I was very happy about, and served on a funny little plate that was shaped like a shovel. There were bits of onion fried up with the pork ribs. I am used to seeing this dish fried to a lighter color with more prominent pepper flakes in the batter, but I took one bite and thought to myself, this is just like what I used to eat as a child. The bones were not super prominent and each rib had plenty of meat on it, and the frying had been done very well. The onions, funnily enough, were extremely tasty-- I usually ignore these when they come with a fried dish but with some plain white rice, they were excellent. This dish is quite salty, but a must if you have not tried it before. The one thing I would not order again is the char siu bao, but this has never been my favorite in the first place. There is very little filling in this and much more bao than I like, and to be honest it tasted like it could have been bought frozen or premade from the supermarket. This would be my only pass on what we ate that day. Overall, we would come back here. The parking is much easier than Convoy and the price point is so much more palatable than Din Tai Fung.
