The bangus was crispy and flavorful, and the garlic fried rice was just the right amount, not too much, but enough to go with everything. The egg was cooked over-medium just the way I like it. What really brought it together though was dipping the bangus in the spiced vinegar. It adds that extra savory kick that makes every bite better. Simple breakfast, but super satisfying. It came out approximately 18-20 minutes and I was passed up by 3 order numbers with number larger than mine. The staff did give us an extra balo balo due to the long wait. I ordered food to be delivered today, Sunday-May 17, 2026 at 11:00am. I ordered: Pansit Canton (noodles), 2 orders of Lumpia Shanghai. My entire ordered was delivered at 11:47 but the whole order is wrong and not the food that I order. The food CHOW KING sent to me: 2 fried eggs, fried beef & rice (see pic). I don't eat eggs because I am allergic to it. Called Chow King tell them I got the wrong order and Chow King admitted that the wrong order was sent to me but Chow King refused to send me the correct order because they said-they have no driver though on their website indicated that they have a delivery service. And Chow King refused to give me a refund because Chow King indicated that Uber Eats is the one that needs give me a refund& not them. Took pics of the wrong order and offered to send it back to Chow King but they said no need because they KNOW that its the Wrong Order, but they will NOT give me a refund & NOT send me the correct order. This is consumer fraud- for me to be charge for the food that I never receive. Poor customer satisfaction when CHOW KING Refused to refund my money or send me the correct order and stated that it is UBER EAT that made a mistake. I told them that they have a delivery service so why not just send me my correct order that I already paid. We brought my Son and his friends to Seaworld and as always they still want to stay longer together afterwards, so after Seaworld I treated them more to Starbucks. And I know they would want more after Starbucks, and I always know they will be going to ask me to treat them to Raising Canes after, but we are always in Raising canes 'coz these Teens loves Raising Canes, so for a change of ambiance I searched up in Yelp for FRIED CHICKEN places that were near where we were at, but I remembered that Jollibee and CHOWKING also have good Fried Chicken. I chose to bring them to CHOWKING this time since their fried chicken was good and bigger there. When we came there's good enough seating inside. I ordered the special they have which is the: *2 of BUNDLE FEAST - CHICKEN and PANCIT That's a Total of 20 FRIED CHICKENS and 2 orders of PANCIT. The young lady on the front said it would be a 20 Minutes wait, and I said that's alright. Then after I ordered I heard her say to the next customer that it would be a 40 minutes wait. So after 20 mins passed, our Fried Chicken was not served yet. It was served after 1 hour and 20 minutes, I don't know what happened and why it took that long, or maybe they just have so many orders for the day. Bad or no customer service, I just finished eating lunch and needed to use restroom, there was a customer waiting at the counter to order, one employee, a middle aged woman said, wait a minute. A little time later, she entertained the first customer, and I was waiting patiently hoping beyond hope to be entertained, but never happened, she went ahead and filled the orders, glanced at me several times but never said a word acting super busy. Several customers came to order, and she entertained them one at a time completely ignoring me, a paying customer. As a Filipino-American who's been to several Filipino food spots, I'd categorize this as niche-Filipino-fast-food. I personally would only go here for the lumpia, siopao, Taho, halo-halo, and palabok - in fact, those would probably be the only things I'd recommend here, in spite of the other over-priced items on the menu. Tip: If you get catering from here (like the egg rolls/lumpia we ordered for my son's birthday), triple check that they got the order and are working on it ahead of time. We ordered ahead of time, and was told they didn't have an order when we went to pick it up - frustrating to say the least. Fortunately, they said they'd work on it, and my brother-in-law was going to pick up while we setup our party. When my bro went to pickup, they threw the tray of egg rolls on the counter with attitude...as if we were the ones who made the mistake. As I write this, I remember how pissed off I was at how the situation turned out. This location has the worst customer service. Filipino workers here are rude and disrespectful. Came in today to get the 2 entree breakfast. on the board it states 2 entree add $1.50 bangus. It was not very clear to me how it works so I asked. They were 2 people upfront. I believe the one short lady was the manager who made me wait 10 minutes without saying anything before taking my order and then the other one went to the other cashier and asked what i wanted. So I asked what does it mean add $1.50 for bangus? and none of them can answer the question. I simply wanted to know what the sign on the board meant. How can a manager and a person that works there doesn't know what you're selling and what your menu meant? It is standard to know and explain to the customer when they asked. They were so disrespectful when they speak to me and gave me all the side eyes they can. You both work in customer service at least be nice if you both actually didn't know what you're selling and what it meant or how to explain it to the customer. I am reporting this to their corporate. There is a big difference with not knowing and at least being nice of having a good customer service. Food are expensive and very small portions. A Filipino fast food chain with both Filipino and Chinese-based menu options. Since it's fast food, don't come here expecting a high quality meal, but you're paying more for the convenience. Located right next to Seafood City so it's easy to stop by here for a quick meal after grocery shopping. I got one of their combo meals to go. I think I still prefer the Chinese fast food at Panda Express, and while I wasn't wowed, I don't think the food was necessarily bad either. Seems like most of the negative reviews are regarding the service. I didn't have any issues personally, although I also came during an off hour where they weren't busy at all. Overall, mediocre food but not bad for the price and convenience. The price of the siopao has gone up since the last time I've been here. 6pieces is $19.99 But, it's the only place we get it when visiting San Diego to take back home. They also have frozen bags, if you want to make it for a later time. I like getting the Asado (meat) and they have the bola-bola (chicken). I don't recommend the Taho, it was watered down. It wasn't busy at all when we came during the weekend around 1pm. There was one person in front of me but still got my order in less than 5 mins. I was feeling nostalgic and craving hot taho... For the uninitiated, taho is sweet snack made of silken tofu, sago or tapioca pearls bathed in a simple brown sugar syrup. The fried chicken breading was delightfully crackly and crunchy throughout each bite. The rice made me all warm and fuzzy inside since I don't eat white rice much anymore. - Hot Taho: All the elements of good taho are present and accounted for; tofu, pearls and sweet syrup. The tofu was a bit clumpy and could be much more softer. So I was able to satisfy my craving, but it was nowhere near as awesome as the hot taho I last had from a random street peddler in the Philippines. I also got to try the fried chicken here and enjoyed it. I usually get suckered into coming here whenever I visit Seafood City so I'm sure to be back. There were 3 small chunks of beef, some cabbage, a lot of soup since my husband ordered a large and 1 clump of noodles. Because they were in a hurry, they just grabbed a ball of noodles from packaging and poured hot soup on it? Aren't you supposed to dunk it in water first to separate the noodles before adding soup? Honestly, how does this business stay open? Nothing tastes good and it's not cheap. The beef noodle was $17. I should have eaten at Pho Ban Mai in the same center. It's cheaper and delicious. I just wanted to try this restaurant because I have never eaten here before and I was shopping at seafood city. The JFC now owns Chowking establishments prominently positioned in the U.S. As dubbed, the king of the chow is scattered all throughout the SoCal area. Chowking primarily sells noodle soups, dim sum and rice bowls with toppings. I have been at this particular location in Mira Mesa a few times from years ago and once again visited this past month after grocery shopping at their adjoined neighbor, Seafood City Supermarket. Chowking and among other food chains dispersed nearby are situated in the Mesa Shopping Center, at which it can be very difficult to find parking any time during the week and more so on the weekends. At the time of the visit, I ordered their 1-entrée Lauriat Rice Meal on the menu that came with a plate of fried rice, 2-pcs. of fried chicken (leg & small thigh) and pancit canton (egg noodles).
