We have walked by, parked in front, looked inside, but never went in...LOL! But I felt we should try them out since they are dog friendly. Since we were there right after they opened, we sat in the front table so Cako could be in the corner. She watched all the workers from where she was standing. I ordered a Hawaiian inspired cocktail which was very good! Apparently, they have a signature peanut butter shot that I will have to try next time. We started with the fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Great peanut sauce! I ordered the chicken bun vermicelli, really good! Scooter had the chicken teriyaki. It was a great way to try out OB Noodle and they were good choices! It started to get busy. We were lucky we came early. The interior is cool and there's definitely a chill vibe. Our server, can't remember her name, was great! Friendly and excited it was our first time. Definitely worth checking out! Cako Approves!

This is the birthplace of Skrewball, the cloying peanut butter whiskey. But you probably came here for noodles, not booze (although they do have quite the beer and alcohol menu). You can get Skrewball here but you shouldn't. Ask for the ORIGINAL peanut butter whiskey. It tastes nothing like Skrewball. It's like drinking a shot of fresh, slightly boozy, blended peanut butter. It is fantastic. (Apparently, they cannot bottle and sell the fresh stuff because, well, it's freshly made and just wouldn't be able to be practically sold commercially. That makes sense, unfortunately.) The food is fine here. It's nothing amazing but it will hit the spot. For an appetizer, we tried the fried dumplings. The menu notes they are deep fried and indeed they were. I would say there were left in the fryer a bit too long. They tasted good but they could have been better. For my entree, I tried the 1502 Special pho, which is supposedly made with kobe wagyu beef. The beef was fine, although it tasted like normal beef to me, and there were a ton of rice noodles in my bowl. The star of the dish was the broth itself which had a good flavor. There are many other places in San Diego with better pho but this one was just fine. The cold bun (vermicelli) noodles with chicken was fine. This is not the most exciting dish but it is fine for what it is. They have some delicious non-alcoholic fruity drinks, like mango and pineapple. Don't miss out on those, if you aren't into alcohol. Parking is absolutely atrocious in this area. Good luck to you. This is a very casual and friendly neighborhood hang. Make sure to get the ORIGINAL peanut butter whiskey. It's a delicious shot of heaven.

Spring rolls (no pork) - delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the peanut dipping sauce was *chef's kiss*

First off, major kudos to our incredible server Mo - she made the best recommendations, was incredibly kind to our family, and really made our experience a five star. What a gem!! The drink menu had so may great choices. The Paloma and the Dead Ass Delicious were must-orders. I don't know if you can go wrong with anything on this menu! Everything was so yummy! Bonus? We sat at the communal bench seating at the entrance and got to hang out with the cutest puppies all night too!

Overdue review for OB Noodle House in Ocean Beach offers asian fusion food. As with many restaurants in the area, parking is a challenge and a pain in the derrière. This restaurant was featured on DDD Diners Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, whose original name is Ferry FYI. There's indoor, outdoor seating and is dog friendly at this casual restaurant that would be considered a diner dive. Service from staffers was great, helpful and attentive but it should be because they automatically charge your bill with a gratuity service charge, so make sure you do NOT pay an additional tip!! The menu highlighted many selections but we chose the recommendations from DDD's spikey bleach blonde host. The bowl of Pho was our starter, the bowl was hugh and plentiful, after a few sips of the broth, I was not interested in eating the noodles, as I had enough and wanted to eat the other foods we ordered. Honestly, wouldn't order pho again, it was good but not the best pho I've had just solely based on the broth's taste. The bbq wings were very tasty, however, I prefer wings to be crunchy and these appeared to have been baked and not crunchy but very smoky and flavorful. My friend had the pork belly taco made with the soft bun and he liked it. The sizzling Basa whole fish and the sizzling short ribs were both dazzling show stoppers in presentation both delicious. But it seems both the fish and the short ribs were marinated in the same seasoned concoctions as they tasted the same however, the short ribs did taste best, hands down! The upbeat music blasting as we dined added a great vibe. This restaurant attracts all diners with the expansive food selections that there's something for everyone. While I'm not a hugh fan of Guy Ferry Fieri, but the show featuring this restaurant caught my attention enough for me to visit. My next visit will have to include a pan fried noodle dish, after all that's in the name of the restaurant. When in Ocean Beach, a diner dive with fantastic asian fusion foods is the OB Noodle House for Asian fusion foods was highly recommended by DDD's Guy Ferry/Fieri Recommend

New to San Diego and someone recommended OB's Noodle House Attentive service; lots of seating and good vibes. We ordered spicy wings! Not spicy but definitely have an Asia flair. Sizzling fish was sizzling! Pan seared egg noodles with shrimp and vegetables was a large portion and filling.

This is my second visit to OB Noodle House. It's a fun, super-casual, not quite dive bar atmosphere. Both times I've been here (once for lunch mid-week and dinner today: Sunday 03/01/26) the service has been very friendly and efficient. Tonight they were super busy, but our server still had time to recommend a couple of his favorite things. We ordered 12 wings, the chicken lettuce wraps, the #10 Pho, and the Hong Kong seafood chow fun. Everything was amazing, full of flavor, well thought out, and delicious. The only thing about OB Noodle House that makes me sad, is that I live way up in the North County and can't eat here as often as I want! If you are lucky enough to be in the area, I can highly recommend this unassuming little corner place for some of the best Asian fusion dishes anywhere in California

Even though I've lived in SD for awhile, I've never tried OB noodle house. I had always heard good things about it and also knew that Guy Fieri visited before which helped boost its popularity. Me and my partner ended up getting the spicy garlic wings as an appetizer as we heard that was what they were most famous for. We also ended up getting a pho and the charbroiled chicken with rice to try out. Although the wings had a good garlic flavor and were crispy I would say that they were not that big. I have had small wings before which isn't usually an issue but for the price I paid I would have expected some larger wings. My partner got the pho and we both felt that the broth was somewhat sweet. She commented that overall the pho was just OK but nothing special. As for the rice dish, the amount of chicken to rice was disappointing as the plate ended up being mostly rice. Flavor wise it did have a charbroiled taste to the chicken and the pickled veggies on the side weren't bad either. Service was great, absolutely no problems there. Overall, the food here does not taste bad but it's not exceptional. Part of the issue here is also the price unfortunately since I feel it doesn't justify the amount of protein you get on certain dishes( such as the wings or rice plate). If you wanted Vietnamese food there are other places you can go to in SD to get a better experience that would also be cheaper as well.

I ordered the wings, chicken lettuce wraps, and crispy shrimp. The wings were definitely the star. Super crispy, great flavor, and exactly the kind of snack you want with a cold drink. The shrimp wasn't really my taste and the lettuce wraps felt a bit generic, but everything came out hot and fresh. Even with that, I'm definitely coming back. Their noodle dishes looked incredible and I feel like that is where they really shine. They also have a full drink menu and even mocktails which I love. I'm excited to return and try some of their signature items next time.

Mediocre experience that was compounded by high expectations. I'll start with the good: the pho broth is pretty solid. The not so good: the music is way too loud. Everyone else has already said this, but it's true. It smelled like actual garbage can juice in the communal sitting area. The floors, tables, and chairs were sticky so everything just felt kinda grimy. We moved inside because it really did smell bad. One pair of our chopsticks were dirty. The pho broth to noodle ratio was off in my opinion. I think the bowl they use is just too small because it couldn't contain the noodles and vegetables and an appropriate amount of broth. Ultimately I don't think I'd return because it was not a unique bowl of food and nothing else in the experience really sold me.

We came for late night eats around 8:30pm on a Tuesday night. The hostess was super nice and got us seated really fast! She was also really attentive about taking our order! House Special Fried Rice - 2/5 - It didn't have that much flavor and was quite oily. It was cool that it had Chinese sausage in it though! Half Order (6 piece) Spicy Garlic Wings - 4/5 - We typically skip the cilantro and ranch. Even so, the wings themselves were still pretty good! They were fried nicely, not too oily, well seasoned, and the right amount of garlic flavor! Tangerine Breeze - 5/5 - It was on the strong side, but didn't overpower the fruity flavor of the drink! So I felt like it was a very well made drink and would recommend!

I've been coming here for years thanks to my sister who lives in SD. This is where she usually takes me for a bite before we watch the sunset on the other side where the cliffs are. That's where the view is. This time around, our dad was with us, visiting from Asia for the holidays. We got our usual order. Pho, spring rolls, the fish and that rice that is so damn good. I keep forgetting that it happens to be spicy. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I get a bite that happens to be spicier than usual. Everything we got was so good. All plates and bowls were cleaned. You can tell we were so into our meal because the moment our items were dropped off the table, we all went silent and shifted to chow time. Service here has never been consistent. It's always a hit or miss. We had a super late lunch the day after thanksgiving after spending a few hours at Sea World so we were starving. Our server Dominic was great. He was super busy tending to all the tables outside. We were howe super put off by the runner who dropped off our food. He initially dropped off a set of plates that my sister thought were too small so she asked him for the bigger ones. His facial expression indicated he was annoyed with her request. When he came back with the plates, someone else at our table asked for another item and this time around he was even more irritated.

Ask the Community - OB Noodle House

Anybody know if there's still happy hour?

    Yeah alcohol only 3 - 5 pm

Does OB noodle house have gluten free options?

Yes... several! Just go over them with your server when you order.

Are you able to accommodate nut and seafood allergies?

My mother in law has a seafood allergy and they are always super careful to make sure her food isn't contaminated.

Are they open for take out during government shut down from corona virus?

Ob noodle house isn't open but their other restaurant OB Noodle House Bar 1502 is open for take out only 12-8pm. You can also get their peanut butter whiskey shot by the mason jar to go ! *droools*

    Do they use MSG?

The question is who doesn't? Chick fil a, Doritos, kfc, look at any ingredient list and you can find msg in common items. I find the stigma against msg to be a bit racist in my opinion.

    Is this location dog friendly?

I've seen a couple people with their dogs on the patio.

Can you see the tv from the patio? Would this work as I'm bringing my dogs to watch the game?

The TV's are somewhat small, but you can definitely see them from the patio! Although, maybe not the small score numbers. Lol.

Do they have food challenges there?

There aren't any food challenges at OB noodle house

    How's the parking?

Back downstairs for the show and I've gotta give their staff props, they did a great job sweeping through the crowd and picking up empty drinks throughout the night. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. And this review is after that experience, so we can compare and contrast things like pricing and quality. When you come here you must bring a loaded wallet. To try a sour beer or any of their Russian River beers, (which was a surprise to us that there even was beer coming out of Russian River, a place I love for wine) .... is $19 for a bottle. And if you've never tried a sour beer and no one likes it, there are no returns. You pay your money and you take your chances. They are creative at The Joint. I mean an eel roll with macadamia nuts is a brilliant twist on sushi. The second thing we try is their soft shell crab roll. Delicious. Everyone at the table 'seconds' these comments. I ask someone on the way in, seated at a table eating sushi if it is good. He says: "I'll let you know". Later, he comes back to our table to let me yes! It's really good". So is this a good place to go for Sushi? The answer is yes. Is it a little confusing as an asian fusion place to have so many diverse choices? The answer is yes, but I also admit I do like all the options. Again, they call their Happy Hour food 'Tapas'. Is that Spanish, or is it just me? Japanese fried chicken or an arugula salad or oysters? lol Your taste buds must travel all over the place and that's hard on the palate and my headspace of 'what am I eating'? Is it overpriced? The answer is yes! And if I'm being honest, it surprises me that no one else on yelp is mentioning this. If money is not an issue and you want good sushi, our group recommends trying The Joint. Just don't count on happy hour having happy prices. $4 for an oyster is not happy! It's regular priced. Maybe even over priced for a happy hour menu where oysters come in at $1 and $2 for happy hour. And today, they are all out of oysters. lol We usually just tell you what to order when you go to a restaurant. This is the first time we have felt the need to let you know what you're in for, price wise. Sorry to the wonderful staff and great chef. No idea why they need to represent themselves as 'happy hour noon - 6pm every day', leading me to believe there is good pricing. But it's not my zoo, not my monkeys.
