I walked in today with no appointment and was sat down at the chair IMMEDIATELY. I was offered a drink, everything was sanitized thoroughly, and then we went through what i wanted - I was told off the bat what to expect price-wise! Tina was AMAZING, she paid such attention to detail and while she holds an easy going conversation, I didn't feel the need to fill the silence (which is kind of unusual for me lol). I've tried out about 5 nail salons in the past few months and this is the only one I've felt truly deserves a review - in my experience all services, quality, and customer service was exceptional and for the purposes of full transparency no filter :-)

Look at base of nail. I could do better than that. But I was too scared of the mean lady to complain!

What a shame. First time ever I've had a mean mani pedi lady. Like mean-teacher mean. Eye-rolling, pulling my hand closer, pushing other way, correcting me, not engaging in any kind of idle chit chat , though English seemed strong with corrections. I spent the whole time trying to relax but feeling like I was in freaking trouble! Pedi, because it wasn't an "upgrade" from the "menu" lasted about 12 minutes. Massage was about 1 minute and was like a tired couple of gloved swipes and done. Pedi mani result sucked too. I figured if it all looked great then so be it. Nooooo. Worst part was I'd been sick but forced myself to go engage in some self-care. It was funny at the beginning, surreal like a Wes Anderson film but then the results just bad. Save yourself precious time and cash, pick anywhere else.

Still perfect three weeks in!!

I love Joy Nails. It is always bright and cheerful and clean. The manicure/pedicure prices are very reasonable and the technicians are very friendly and do an amazing job. This last time I did a volcano something or other pedicure that just kept getting better and the aromatherapy aspect was so good! I get gel so the job lasts longer and it never disappoints. There has never been a wait and the husband and wife that run things are always there and they always have enough techs to serve even the walk ins. The decor is sweet and colorful and they have all the bells and whistles for the services they provide. Like I said before the prices are very reasonable! Try it and you won't ever go anywhere else

Not want I wanted. Polish wasn't applied correctly. It has a gradient look that I did not want

I must update my review... This is typically my go to spot but I am definitely disappointed in my nails this time around. First of all, I wanted a royal blue color and the color I picked out for some reason, the reason wasn't given to me, I couldn't use it and I had to pick on CC soak off gel polish. This is the polish. I hate it. It's a gradient color and definitely not cute. You can zoom in and see the color and how it was painted on. Also I really didn't like how the last time I came here I only paid $12 and the price quickly changed to $25. My old review: All time favorite nail salon. They do an amazing job each and every time! I will continue to come back here to get my nails done! Also very clean and spacious! Also they have so many gel colors to choose from!!

My GEL nails from Joy Nails after 4 almost 5 days
Mackenzie K.

I was very disappointed with my first visit to Joy Nails. I needed to get my nails done and had an appointment at my usual place, but my friends really wanted theirs done too, last minute. Joy Nails was kind enough to provide us with a reasonable appointment, we each went one at a time practically, and we enjoyed a couple of the $3 champagne promotion, (that was a nice touch!) but when I told my nail technician that I didn't want gel on my toes she argued with me and insisted she knew what was best. (My nails grow different and require to be cut back and maintained biweekly. Gel lasts way too long for that.) After arguing about it for about 5 minutes I finally said whatever. I wasn't going to let it ruin my time with friends. The rest of the experience was fine, until it came time for the bill. I was displeased because I didn't even want gel on my toes but of course was charged for it, as it is what I received. That is fine, you get what you pay for. I expected my nails to last at least 2-3 weeks as they usually do. These were my nails after 4 days. They started to peel from the bottom up and would get caught in my hair and clothes. I will never take another chance with a different nail place, especially this one. The quality just is not there and it is not worth the price! Fusion Nails in Carytown will forever be my happy place! They've never let me down!

Pedicure chairs. Clean and comfy.

Feel like giving yourself a treat but you don't have reservations? No problem. Joy Nails will make room. No reservation necessary. This is a no frills place, but it's clean, service is great and the work is good. So to me it doesn't matter that they don't provide sparking water and pineapple. My pedicure is always done well and at a bargain price.

Pedicure

The salon is spacious and appears clean, but I can't say that I will be back. I asked for a pedicure and manicure, and selected the deluxe spa manicure with callus treatment. The technician shaved off dead skin and somewhat buffered around my feet and toes. I asked if she could buffer the toes a bit more, as the skin was noticeably uneven and looked bad. She said she already did that and seemed annoyed, and I asked if she would mind doing it again. She said my skin is thick, she already threw away the buffer, and it would take another nail appointment to make it look better. I told her that I do gather a lot of dead skin on my toes, but my feet generally look much better after pedicures than what I am seeing. She then took a cuticle clipper (??) to the skin on the side of my toes, making it even more uneven. I decided to cancel my manicure after that interaction.

I love my nails

Very clean and my nails are perfect. I will be back. I went back for a refill. Still impressed.

Peeled gel manicure after a week!

I recently started coming here a few months ago and have had a chance to explore a few nail techs but Jacie is by far my favorite.

She said you have to get a more expensive pedicure for it to be longer than 15 minutes and not rushed. I've never had a pedicure that was only 15 minutes. Such a waste of money. Could have done it at home. Worst pedicure I've gotten in two decades. The whole point of me going was to treat myself. Instead I played myself. As you can see from the pedicure menu I've posted, there is no indication that this is a 15 minute service. At least call it a "rapid" or "express" pedicure or something. She expected me to know that because it's "cheap" (26 dollars) that it's not a full pedicure and would only be 15 minutes. Never again.

I sat in a pedicure chair for about 10 minutes until they ran my water. The chair was THE best pedicure massage chair I've ever been in, so I didn't mind. My pedicure service began at about 5:25 p.m. and it was over by 5:45 p.m. I've never in my decades of pedicures gotten a 20 minute pedicure. They're usually 45-60 minutes! She zipped through it so quickly, paying no particular attention to the anything. Miraculously, the end result looked okay, so again, I wasn't too bothered. After my pedicure was finished, she started working on another client (taking her sweet time)... and didn't come back to me for a full 50 minutes to look at my nails. She said it was 30 minutes. I corrected her. It was another 10 (a full hour) before she actually started working on my dip. She apologized for the wait, but once again, she zipped through my dip so quickly... a mere 25 minutes when it's normally 65-75! I mean, why work so fast now? There were no other clients. Take your time with my nails and do a good job! She cut my nails way too short. She did next to nothing with my cuticles. And my final result shows ridges and file marks in my nails! She said she could fix it and asked me to come back tomorrow. WHAT?! You want me to waste MORE of my time so you can do what you should've done the first time? Hell to the no! She also told me my toes were dry, so I could put my socks and shoes on. WHAT?! Even I know how long toes take to dry and that socks basically for the rest of the day are a no no! While she was a nice person, what good is nice if you keep me waiting an hour and provide me with a terrible service? Never again. Please, Nancy. Come home soon!

It's exactly the vibe you want when heading for a self care day. The products they use are 100% house-made and organic. I've had skin reactions before, but never here. As a matter of fact, other spas have left my face looking red and inflamed after facials - I leave here glowing.
