I haven't updated my review in a while. I've been to several locations and I've tried all of their flavors and multiple ice cream sandwiches. They're wonderful as always very consistent. Adorable. The color palette is always beautiful. The store is always cute and the people working are always so friendly and kind. Definitely my favorite macaron spot.
I have tried Joy from other retailers but I decided to make a stop at the first location here in Bishop District.. I honestly did now know it even existed, the place is very trendy and clean!. I went ahead and ordered a cookies and Cream sandwich. The girl in the register was very helpful and also sold us on a couple macarons.. Great spot and location! Definitely will be coming back..
Stopped in Friday night for some sweet treats and had a really great experience. The young lady helping us was very sweet and patient. The Macarons were really good as well full of flavor. We also had a pistachio milkshake and lavender fluff Mac ice cream sandwich. Both SUPER GOOD! Well definitely be back!
We were having dinner in the area and decided to stop on by try out Joy Macarons. It's two stores down from NEONY Pizza Works. It's a tiny little shop with tons of treats to try. We mainly went for the Macarons and ended up taking home an ice cream sandwich as well. They were all good. I had my first macaron in Paris at Ladurée and fell in love with them, so we had to try these here at Joy Macarons. To me, it's very hard to compete with Ladurée macarons, but these are just as good. We got 3 pistachio, because those are our favorite, a vanilla bean one and a salted caramel. I love this block of buildings, because these are old school buildings that have been there since I could remember living in Oak Cliff as a kid but they are renovated of course. They all remind me of shops you will find in New York.
The macaroons from Joy are delightful little puffs of heaven! Crispy on the outside and puffy on the inside. I had the 6 pack- 1. Strawberry 2. Honey lavender 3. Lemon 4 Cookies & cream 5. Rose berry 6. Vanilla bean All were yummy and packed full of flavor!

I've been coming to this location for the past 5 years and have introduced many of my friends + family to Joy macarons. What stands out about Joy is the variety of flavors they have and the ones they introduce in rotation. By far, my go-to's have always been the Honey Lavender, Rose Berry, Strawberry, and the Italian Creme. Please note that some of my pictures have seasonal flavors that they may not currently have - so reference the menu on their website for updated seasonal flavors. For example, the pictures of the macaron ice cream below show the earl grey tea flavor. I've also had the guava macaron ice cream (both i strongly recommend if they still make them). While i since relocated to Los Angeles where I'm a hop, skip, and jump away from Ladurée, I can honestly say when I'm in town, I always stop by Joy -- either a treat for myself, my mom, my grandmother, or any of the gorgeous queens in my life.
The flavors here are wonderful. This restaurant is very consistent with the quality of their desserts. I was able to try the flavor of the month and get a horchata macaron ice cream sandwich. I also bought a 12-pack of macarons. These were all wonderful and are nice for splitting among others so you can all try each flavor. The workers were very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer questions I had and inform me about the rewards program. The store is very well organized, and they offer candles and other accessories to purchase.
The absolute best macaroons I've ever tasted/ had in my life. I love the exterior and interior I love the color combination I love the smell as soon as you walk in the joyous personality from the worker in the inside. She was so friendly I was like wow! Have we met before!? Lol I now have favorites and I will be back to purchase gifts and selfish treats! Lol .. They also provide custom macarons!! Follow them on Instagram @joymacarons for delicious mouth watering content and you can either torture yourself by never purchasing any or treat yourself to a lasting memory and mouth vacation!! Those Macaroons didn't last an hour! My son learned a new word "Maka Rooons" lol now he is hooked. Thank you Joy Macarons for a great experience it out weighed the taste well equally pleasant.
While hanging around Bishop Arts District, we decided to check out Joy Macarons while we in the area. It's about a 15 min walk or so from that area up Davis, or a few minutes drive, i think half mile from Bishop Ave. Small little shop with nice display of their macarons. We decided to get a sixer...aka six pack of some assorted flavors. Can't remember exactly what we all got but they were tasty. Most macarons are on the pricey side, and these were just that as well. They were delicious and nicely made, good crack when you take that bite. Nice little indulgence to have in my book. Staff was friendly and welcoming when we came by, they have ice cream pints and sandwiches too but we didn't try any this time around. Overall, glad we put this spot on our itinerary.
I could eat this everyday. One of my favorite places for desserts. I always get the cereal milk flavor, too scared of disappointment if I try other flavors because the ice cream macaroons are huge. Cute colors, good and tasty for gifts.
The most beautiful macaroon shop ever! I looked like the paparazzi taking pictures of the eclectic decor and pristine vibes :) Loved all of the various options! You can her traditional macaroons, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, macron flavored ice cream, the list literally goes on. I especially enjoyed all of the gifts, accessories, and other cute and modern boutiques offer. Looking forward to returning and trying something new next time! This time I enjoyed the rose berry and cookies and cream macaroons. If you're reading this, wt do you think I should try next time!?
A friend visiting from out of town really wanted some macrons so I hopped on Yelp and found Joy. Cute little shop located in Bishop Arts right on the corner of Davis and Tyler. I don't think there's a super noticeable sign because I initially drove past it. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of Macarons but these were pretty good. The Nutella one was bomb!
While visiting some friends in the Dallas area over Valentine's Day weekend, they insisted we had to stop at Joy Macarons. I am SO glad they did. The warm, sweet aroma greeted us the second we cracked the door. Inside, the shop was bright, colorful, and instantly cheerful with a welcoming staff member to match. It was cold and rainy during our visit, so we passed on the macaron ice cream sandwiches this time. They looked absolutely incredible though and I am still thinking about what I missed days later. The team member that helped us was fantastic. She walked us through every flavor and gave us the cutest bookmark-style menu that doubled as the perfect souvenir. We left with an adorable box of six macarons. Each one delivered exactly what its flavor promised. They were perfectly balanced, beautiful, and delicious. Stopped by Joy Macarons and let me just say... this is a sweet little gem! The shop itself is so cute and vibrant & instantly puts you in a happy, treat-yourself kind of mood. Here's what I tried: * Italian Cream * Strawberry * Chocolate Covered Strawberry My absolute favorite was the Italian Cream. You could really taste the coconut. It was so flavorful and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. It had that taste that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. The Strawberry was fresh and sweet, and the Chocolate Covered Strawberry gave that classic indulgent vibe. They offer a wide variety of flavors, so whether you like fruity, rich, or classic options, there's something for everyone. Oh Joy Macarons!! I wanted to like you so bad but I couldn't. Joy Macarons' Instagram got me drooling on my phone, so I knew I had to make a visit. This place is purely dedicated to macarons, and the display is on point. What aren't on point are the texture and the taste. The crusts were too brittle. Pretty much if you touch them, they'll fall apart depending on your luck. The center parts of the cookies were pretty chewy. I guess I'm just not use to that texture. The 6 flavors I got were pistachio, rose and lychee, vanilla, lavender, salted caramel, and chocolate. The flavors didn't really correspond to what they were, and most of them tasted too floral for me. They were also way too sweet. For $2 each, it was small. But macarons are trendy and pricey like that. I really wanted to like Joy Macaron because I love macarons and I want to like them all. I feel bad for being harsh. read more
So glad I found this place! It's such a cute little store! I picked up a box of 12 Macarons for a bachelorette party and an Macaron ice cream sandwich for my hubby. The girls absolutely LOVED them! I will def be back for some more! The woman at the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable about their items and super patient while I took forever to decide which flavors I wanted. It's a bit of a drive since I live in Frisco, but I will be back to this beautiful shop soon - I hope!! read more

Let me tell yall after having the Fruity Pebble ice cream sandwich I can go the rest of my life without having another regular mac! (Just kidding) I have always seen them here but was hesitant to try them. Well ladies and gents they are amazing! I took the first bite and was transported back to the days of sitting in front of the tv at my gma's house, eating Fruity Pebbles and watching Sat morning cartoons! If you are ever at Joy and want to try try something outside the box of a norm mac, get the ice cream mac sandwich. It's everything! The reg macs are good too. read more

Truly divine macarons! I love the aesthetic and the front desk girls were so helpful. The Texas sheet cake macaron has got to be the best macaron I've ever tried, plus the Valentine's Day embellishment was so cute. I could eat 50 of their macarons in a sitting! read more
So a little JOY is always needed! These little French delights are definitely a JOY to indulge in.... Sitting in the Heart of Bishop Arts District near Downtown Oak Cliff. You can't help but stop by to try to tame your sweet tooth. You might get caught up in all the color & cuteness... But it is some delightful flavors hidden in each one. I have enjoyed the Vanilla bean, Lavender, Almond and Lemon Macaroons. Such a tasty treat that is delicate but carries a punch in flavor and a presentation. Now the price might shock you a little but once you see the work that is put into them to make one. You just right question why so cheap? We paid $13 for a half of dozen and they were well worth it. They also have the Macaroon Ice cream sandwiches... The are huge and will run you about $6 bucks! read more

The macaroons were good depending on the flavor, I personally liked the pistachio and almond ones & the inside where the macaroons were laid out was so aesthetically pleasing. The prices are way too high for these tiny delicacies, but I guess all macaroons are pricey. The inside was not big and nowhere to really sit and enjoy. 3/5 because it was aight. read more

OMG! So yum! I had the strawberry coconut macaroon ice cream and it was so good!! It was a smooth taste - the strawberry flavor pops and it just makes you happy!! I have to return to try the different flavors and macaroons!! So so good! Period. read more

We stop by here every time we visit my In-laws. Theses macaroons are not what you would expect. They are bursting with flavor and creativity! The staff do a wonderful job and they are so friendly. They are helpful and keep the store super clean. I definitely recommend this place for a quick sweet treat! read more
Macarons are not my favorite of desserts. I think it's a texture and flavor thing. I prefer bold rich flavors vs light and fluffy! My boss brought us a box with a nice variety of macarons. I tried all the flavors. They were all so pretty and colorful. Some had sparkles and gold specks! Almost too pretty to eat! We got them around Easter so some flavors were made from peeps!! The unique flavors were very fun to taste. Overall they were pretty good and I enjoyed the unusual unique flavors!! read more

Probably one of my most favorite places to get macarons and macaron ice cream sandwiches! I love their interior and the aesthetically pleasing looks! Most macaron ice cream sandwiches I've had , their ice creams are usually hard and icy as if they were melted down to fit the shells of the macaron, but the ones I've had here are creamy and the macaron shells are soft and chewy! I can't wait to go back and try more flavors! I was also quite impressed with the size and the pricing of the ice cream sandwiches! read more

It's an adorable gem of a place that true blue macaron lovers can seriously appreciate. I came here to grab a few colorful bites of delight for myself, mother and friend. Love the almond, lemon & black currant flavors! They are also made with almond flour & are naturally gluten free. Makes my soul happy! Dallas has been needing a place like this for a long long time. Not a bakery that has macarons where they only make 2 at a time and sell out at 11 am...a place solely dedicated to French macaron happiness!! You feel me? Love it!! There's coffee here too! It would appear the macaron is in the midst of a bit of a resurgence here in DFW, as it was only a few weeks ago that I checked out nearby Bisous Bisous Patisserie (http://www.yelp.com/biz/bisous-bisous-p%C3%A2tisserie-dallas) and had an experience that was remarkably similar to what I encountered here at Joy Macarons. Good? Yes. The best macarons I've ever had? Not so much. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Joy Macaron's location is on the rise, but for the time being it's a tad bit of an oddball compared to trendy Bishop Arts and Trinity Groves. Either way, this will be a hot location in the coming years, and Joy Macarons has some great real estate. My server was gorgeous to start, but she was friendly and knowledgeable as well. Couldn't ask for more (except her number maybe?) Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Macarons are complicated treats that you can't just find anywhere, so I expect to pay a premium especially considering they're boxed all fancy like. Joy Macarons charged me $12 for six macarons, which mathed out to be $2.00 per macaron. That's fair considering Ladurée in NYC charges $2.69 per macaron and Bisous Bisous was $2.17. Fair. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Once again similar to Bisous Bisous my macarons weren't bad, but they were extremely inconsistent. Let's break it down - Vanilla Bean: This was unfortunately the dud of the group, with weak flavor, and hard outer biscuit, and and extremely chewy interior to the point of being detrimental to the macron. Hazelnut: Better. Decent flavor, but still a bit off with regard to texture. As I've stated prior, my perfect macaron has an airy outer biscuit that you don't even know is there until you bite into in combination with an only slightly chewy but potently flavorful interior. Hazelnut had that flavor, but lacked in the texture. Butter Pecan: Now we're talking. Oh me oh my this was the perfect macaron if ever there was one. Amazing flavor, perfect texture, and a uniqueness that comes from not being able to find such a flavor elsewhere. Brilliant. Chocolate: Very similar to Hazelnut: great flavor, but mediocre texture. Salted Caramel (2): Salted caramel is typically my favorite of the bunch, but the two salted caramel macarons that I got were weak in both flavor and texture. There was some greatness here, but a lot of inconsistency. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I can't say Joy Macarons was any better or worse than Bisous Bisous, and in that I didn't give them the fifth star, I can't give it here. No Star Granted. read more

Oh my gosh I wish this place was closer to where I lived and it wasn't kinda in the hood. This is my first Macaron experience and it is going to keep me coming back. I want to learn how to make these since I cant get here enough. Such a clean store front and modern set up. The employee that was there wasn't too friendly but doesn't matter as long as I get my macarons. I found this company on Instagram, so that's cool! (sign of the time) read more
