I loved their food and after that restaurant closed, I was happy to see there were other locations. I have been to this location before and it was OK, but time it was horrible. I got my normal General Tso's chicken. They had perfected it where the outside was light and crispy and the chicken inside was tender and moist. I was excited to try out this place since reading the reviews on the FaceBook group Annapolis Takeout. We ordered General Tso's Chicken, Beef & Broccoli and Shrimp Egg Foo Young combination entrees which came with fried rice, lo mein and egg rolls. While the portions were generous, the quality and taste were lacking and very disappointing. The General Tso's chicken was so overly breaded the chicken was almost non existent (unfortunately I am not exaggerating). The other dishes were practically flavorless. None of the side dishes of fried rice or lo mein had anything other than the rice and noodles; no vegetables at all. Even the egg rolls were bland. I ordered online and requested a 6pm delivery. My order was apparently processed immediately and delivered within an hour of ordering (2 hours too early). We're going back to House of Hunan which I would give 4 stars! read more

Under new management. Great food and Jimmy the owner couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. I'm rather picky when it comes to ordering food. I described to Jimmy what I was in the mood for and he made me a most delicious and healthy meal. My advice is to eat there if at all possible. Food comes out quickly and piping hot. Not my favorite by far. My sweet and sour chicken was dry and cold by the time it was delivered and I did not get enough sauce. Definitely overpriced for the amount of food I got as well. Not recommended. There are a few things to be mindful of: I have seen a little bit into the kitchen on my trips there, there is old boxes and broken equipment up to the ceiling were customers cant see. Imagine an episode of hoarders. During the summer on the hot days, they open the doors and flies constantly land on the sushi cutting board. The sushi itself is kept safe in the glass case, but generally, this does not bode well. If an order is wrong, getting a refund does not come easily or happily. read more

Supremely disappointing food. I've never made General Tao chicken in my life but I'd bet my lungs I could've done better than this. The only steam my broccoli saw before I received it was while it lay next to the warmish chicken in the container. The spring roll was likely assembled LAST spring. Completely disturbing!!!!! - my boyfriend ordered his usual chicken and broccoli from here the other night and when he got down to the bottom of his meal, there was a maggot in his food. My son in law ordered carry out here. I didn't know he was ordering from this place. I had chicken with broccoli. There was 90% broccoli and 10% Chicken. Broccoli was overcooked and very bad taste of oil -- my lips started to swell and became itchy, and I had diarrhea for 2 days. Swelling of the lips took 2-3 days. This place do not serve quality food at all. They are doing short cuts. Not good! read more

I am giving them 2 stars but only because I like Joy Luck IV in Cape St. Claire. The management at this location is terrible. My coworkers and I use to order from this location quite frequently, but several times they messed up our order and did not provide ANY customer service on the back end when they overcharged us. In fact, the real reason for these remarks is that they store credit card numbers (beware!). I called and placed an order an when they brought my food, it was not correct so they brought me out the correct meal and proceeded to charge me full price for BOTH meals. They just took it upon themselves to charge my credit card that they had stored. After several minutes on the phone, they would NOT refund me for the wrong food they delivered, and as I told them on that day that I would not be using their services anymore....I have NEVER ordered from their location again. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Here's the story: I've been vegan for 5 years. I order Kung pao tofu. It says on the confirmation email "Kung pao tofu". I open the box and take bite...this is NOT tofu. I look at the receipt. They had given me Kung pao chicken. Gross and upsetting but it's okay because people can sometimes make mistakes. We call to let them know of the mistake, and not only do they complete deny their fault but they yell at us and then just completely brush us off, mutter "fine we bring another" and hang up. An hour later, he comes back with (hopefully) the correct order. He has a horrible and hostile attitude and demands for the Kung pao chicken. Alex and I were extremely confused. I told him that I had already opened it and started eating it and then threw it away knowing it was meat. He starts YELLING at us saying how he was going to RESELL that food!!! And kept yelling that we needed to give the order back to him if we don't have the partially eaten Kung pao chicken. I got upset and told him "YOU guys messed up the order. We have the confirmation email." He just yelled some things in a different language and walked away. Now I'm sitting here, nauseous because I had partially eaten meat and also at the thought that this bag of new food may be someone ELSES partially eaten food. Joy Luck is NEVER getting our money again. I am so incredibly disappointed in this business I am almost fuming. Please do not go here. read more

We always get Joy Luck for delivery. We love the Hunan Chicken and the Lo Mein. They always deliver fast. It's out go to take out!

Quick service, the owner (I'm assuming since he's ALWAYS there)is nice enough to help me find dishes on their menu that don't have anything I don't eat in them (hello broccoli). We love the egg rolls and fried rice. We get beef, veggie, and pork. We also get lo mein in several varieties. Lastly we get Sweet & Sour Chicken & Beef with Broccoli, and that satisfies our family of four. We used to go to Mr Wangs, but after he retired it wasn't the same. This still isn't quite as good, but it still fulfills our need for decent Chinese for a family of four with different tastes food wise. read more

Food was ok. But the drivers I'm guessing added a $5 tip to my receipt. When I called about the correction.... they simply stated they have my signature and $5 tip on the receipt. Orders are never correct, delivery takes FOREVER and is cold when it finally does come. Extremely filthy inside, dirt everywhere and bugs crawling around on the floor. This may not be the best or most authentic Chinese, but it is edible. It is one of the very few places that will deliver in Annapolis. The delivery never takes too long. Everyone on the phone and who delivers is very friendly. My order has only been messed up once, and the management did fix it, although I had to prove with a print out that they messed up - I advise ordering online. The portion size is average. There are times when the food is too greasy or tastes a little on the oily side. It is not inexpensive. read more

Do not go here. Revolting. Yuck. I'd give it zero stars if I could. I live in one of the condos across the street and went there for the first time since it was a holiday and court of Shanghai(best Chinese in Annapolis) was closed. The rice was hard and had obviously been sitting all day. It had onions despite my request for none. I ordered a chicken dish and let's just say I'd be shocked if it was chicken. I took the food back (I've never done that anywhere before but I've also never been asked to pay for such atrocious food before) and the manager claimed I had eaten nearly all the food even though the container was almost full to the top and in reality I had tried to choke down as much as I could stand which was mostly just the broccoli and some rice since I was pretty sure those things wouldn't kill me and I was hungry (in his defense I had thrown out some bigger bits of chicken that looked sketchy and did not pick through my trash to bring them back. I would have had I known what a jerk he was going to be). Regardless I called ahead and told them how bad it was and he told me to bring it back so I don't know why he decided to make an issue except to just humiliate me in person. I think he may have banned me from the restaurant (unnecessary I assure you) but I could barely hear him over the sound of my money being thrown at me... But he did give it back at least... Business practice and food Horrible!!! Purchased $37.00 worth of food when delivered the food was literally burnt. When called to inform them of the problem they were not willing to replace the food. It was sooooo burnt you could not only see it but smell it immediately upon opening so therefore whoever packed the food knew it was burnt, let alone the one who cooked it. After hours of trying to get a hold of the owner to no avail, this company refused to make a fresh order. I had to leave to go out of town and was not able to argue and they never returned my money or replaced the food. I had to throw ALL of it away, I will never order from there again. They knew the order was coming from a local hotel so therefore knew I was visiting yet they did not accommodate. EXTREMELY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE... They should not be allowed to do business in this town anymore!!! They don't deserve a rating of 1 but the system would not allow my comments without at least rating them at 1. read more
