If you were into great music oldies, of course a classic feel of going back in time to the 1950s. This is your spot. The place was extremely clean. I love the decor. The ambience of the place was super retro. The Service was on point. Our server was kind, friendly and she gave suggestions and the food was good. We ordered two sampler plates to get a little feel of everything. Their zucchini is delicious. It's not overwhelming sometimes that's all you taste is zucchini and not what you're looking for. It had a nice balance. The wings were delicious. I would stick more to the American food. I didn't really care for the Mexican food. I'm very traditional when I wanna go for Mexican food but definitely worth a shot but like I say you try and then decide. read more

John G.'s review touched on the same sentiments I had about the country gravy -- it was mediocre. I would go a step further and say it was inferior. I make that statement with 45 years in food service and more pots of gravy behind me than I can count. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and it was certainly disappointing. The biscuit was very flat, with no lift or life to it. The gravy had a grayish color and a chunky texture that wasn't pleasant to look at. It lacked flavor, richness, and the depth you expect from a proper milk‑based gravy made with a roux from sausage drippings. Even the enjoyment of finding bits of sausage just wasn't there. I did speak to the owner about these issues. With a friendly smile, she mentioned another place I could visit. I'm not sure what she meant to communicate, but it came across as, "If you don't like it, go somewhere else," just delivered politely. On the positive side, John G. was right -- the service was very good, and the place was clean, including the restroom. read more

This spot was amazing, the old school dinner was an experience for our 3 girls and brought back so many memories for my husband and I. All that to be said the food was delicious and service was great our server stephanie was very helpful and polite .. We also love how they play the music in the back ground very smooth not to loud . This is a really cute diner. You can tell that someone really took their time designing the decor. It looks like a fifties style diner with red booths and old movie star posters everywhere. What's great is that the menu includes both American and Mexican food items, both for breakfast and lunch. They also serve breakfast and lunch all day. Their chicken fried steak and gravy was quite good, and so was the French toast. We also enjoyed the chilaquiles and taquitos. Our waitress was lovely and came to check on us often. read more

Our first time here and it was delicious! We came for breakfast. The kids had the pancakes and eggs. I had the menudo, was recommended by the yelp reviews. The food was excellent. The ladies cooking in the back it was amazing. The service by Stephanie was so welcome and nice. The diner is like a blast from the past. It is definitely a hidden gem in our city of San Bernardino. When we say SIDE salad, we expected the salad to actually be on the SIDE. Instead, they put the HOT chicken tenders directly on top of the salad, which melted the cheese and completely ruined it. They did offer to replace the salad, but after the attitude I received on the phone, I didn't feel comfortable trusting them to remake my food. What made the situation worse was being told what I should do differently next time when the mistake was on their end. Mistakes happen, but how you handle those mistakes matters. Telling a customer how they should order next time instead of simply taking responsibility is not good customer service. The food may be decent, but the way this situation was handled left a really bad impression.

It comes with lettuce, tomato, avocado, beans, mayo, and cheese. The meat was flavorful and even had a nice char and the refried beans were nice and creamy. Even though it was good, it wasn't my favorite. No matter what you order, make sure and get their salsas. They have a green and red and I think it's best to mix them... The ambiance is full of life. There's music playing in the background but it's not too loud. Definitely a cool little spot to dine in.

The ranch, though, leaned heavily into a blue cheese flavor, which didn't work for me. Drinks: Sierra Mist came in a surprisingly large cup -- props for that. I also tried a strawberry margarita, and I wouldn't do that again. Tasted like cheap mix, watered down by crushed ice. Big glass, but not worth it. Dessert: Grabbed a slice of apple pie to go. Forgot to ask if it was homemade, but it tasted store-bought. Not bad, just average. Ambiance: Definitely retro. Old-school music, classic diner feel -- if you're into that, it delivers. This diner has been open for a lil over a year and I come in here at least once a week and they are pretty busy but they still go out of there way to please you. I recommend the pineapple spinach water it's very refreshing especially on a hot summer day !!! I always order 2 chillies torreados witch compliment any plate !!!! My wife and I are regulars here so this review is long overdue but our favorite things to order is the Chilaquiles Verde with steak and a Chorizo Breakfast burrito with beans. It's delicious and always fresh especially with their house salsa. The servers here are always friendly. Today Stephanie served us and she's always cheerful and provides a great service. So I ordered that and as soon as the waitress asked me, how do I want the eggs cooked,I said to myself uh oh ! Is machaca, is supposed to be scrambled. She said that some customers prefer over easy or other way cooked and I thought to myself then that's not machaca that's gonna be steak and eggs. I know even in Mexico dishes vary from place to place but at least there are some basics to them. This was just shredded Pot Roast and the eggs barely touching it no salt no flavor as for the country potatoes same,no salt no seasoning at all. Which tells me; they don't know what country potatoes are either. Just cubes of boiled unseasoned potatoes. Tortillas were bad look old already shredding and hard. We also ordered the breakfast carne asada torta and the meat looked like a hamburger patty also unsalted and no flavor at all Luckily the waitress offered salsas and brought some very spicy ones, which we were forced to use in order to make the food more tolerable. I think the Best part was the Coca-Cola which was $3.75 not to bad for a restaurant but no refill. I finished mine half way through my meal or at least the two/three bites I was able to take form the plate, and wasn't offer another one, come on! even if you charge for the refill you offer it, to make more money, but then when paying our bill, I over heard the customer behind us asking about the refill and their waitress told him he would get One refill so she gave it to him. It feels like this Mexican restaurant is aimed more to the white, stomach sensitive customer. This is definitely the Mexican version of Hospital food.

It's standard diner food, greasy pick me up for hungry and exhausted or hung over people or if you want something to tide you over before you hit the road. Either way, our food came out quickly and packed very nicely. Portions are quite generous and although it's not the highest quality of food (fries got styrofoamy a tad too fast and some of the meat was dry), nothing some ketchup and sauce didn't fix and the spaghetti and fish were actually pretty good. I wouldn't mind returning one day to dine in and get the full experience.

To me, that's an indicator of a lazy staff, and I don't want a lazy staff preparing my food. The guy at the order window is short with customers and rushes you while ordering. He won't make substitutions, either. The problem is that he's also the gatekeeper for all the condiments and napkins. The dining area is basically just a box with a trash can, you don't have access to anything yourself. Whatever he decides to give you is what you get. There's no room for discussion. Now for the FOOD I ordered three chicken-fried burgers, and there was absolutely no consistency between them. I added pickles to all three, but one burger had only a single pickle. One burger was as dry as the Dead Sea, with no mayonnaise at all. Another had the right amount of mayonnaise, but the lettuce was mostly white stems. Goldilocks wouldn't be able to find a burger that was "just right" at this place. The fries were a mix of undercooked and burnt, which is impressive in all the wrong ways. The portion was also ridiculously small. For the price of the combo, you'd think they could provide a reasonable amount of fries. As for the chicken-fried patty itself, it was paper-thin, about as thick as two quarters stacked together. I like my chicken thick, like my wife's Mexican booty. Overall, don't go out of your way to stop here. If you don't live nearby, there's nothing worth writing home about. They're incredibly stingy with their portions, condiments, and napkins. I've eaten in some real dumps before. Hell, I've eaten kangaroo, raw beef, and even camel while sitting on the floor and eating with my hands, and those experiences beat this place.
