Cute 50s inspired Diner

We were out in San Bernardino this morning and decided to try this cute little 50s inspired diner. Decorated in black white and red, oldies playing and a very friendly & tentative waitress. I had a Ham & Cheese omelette & my husband has eggs with sausage patties, also had a side of their biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious & hot, and they kept the coffee poured. We never had to ask for anything. The salsa is very good too. We will definitely be back

We were served by Stephanie H. She was friendly and sweet. Food was super fresh! All veggies were crisp and seasoned. Burger was fresh too! Vegetarian options are also nice. Prices were affordable and vibe is nice.

Ate here as I was at San Bernardino for a festival. The steak and eggs were so good! Loved the diner decor as its very retro and our server was so nice! He gave my friend orange slices since my friend didnt order any orange juice like the rest of us and jokingly said he felt "left out". So that was funny and sweet! Will come again if I'm up in San Bernardino!

Very tasty breakfast, pancakes, hashbrowns, bacon, and eggs in a reasonable price

I stopped in for the first time today for breakfast. I was not disappointed. I so enjoyed the bacon and eggs and the two sides I chose was pancakes and hashbrowns and all was very good. I look forward to coming in for lunch sometime. The service was excellent. The servers were on point, checking back frequently filling my drink glass. It's a nice quaint little diner with Route 66 as the theme. Lots of nice pictures and memorabilia on the wall very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody coming through town or locals. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Huevos Divorciados
Aron M.

The breakfast here was delicious. I ordered the huevos divorciados and my partner had the huevos a la Mexicana. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and tasted like a good home-cooked meal. My plate was served warm, and everything was well-seasoned. Our waitress, Stephanie, was the kindest and most attentive. She checked in at the right times and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service made the experience even better. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.

Carne Asado Nachos

This is my go to stop every time I'm in town! The food is great, the service is amazing, and the overall vibe is just perfect. Stephanie is amazing and gives the best service!! (Aside from the fact that she makes the best milkshakes in town) Y'all are missing out if you haven't been in here!

Ask the Community - Jovi's Diner

Do they still do company breakfast catering? If so, what are the options and the prices for a group of 20 people? Thank you!

Call for prices-they catered for me. I had a spring business event. The food was awesome, prices were good🙂

I ended up ordering a hibiscus margarita instead, and honestly, it was amazing. I also ordered the green chicken enchiladas, which were super yummy, filling, and probably my favorite part of the meal. I ordered a second hibiscus margarita, same as the first, but it came on the rocks instead of blended like I had originally requested. We were there for about two hours just enjoying good conversation, food, and drinks, so overall we were having a nice time. Unfortunately, things got frustrating when the checks came. Our waitress didn't seem to know how to split the bill based on who ordered what, which I found odd since we had the same waitress the entire time. We explained how we wanted everything split, and she still got it wrong. In the end, my friend and I had to sit there and figure out all the math ourselves. Then, while we were gathering our things and getting ready to leave, the waitress kept walking around us and looking over at us. It honestly made us feel like we were being watched. When I pulled out cash to leave a tip, she continued looking at the money, almost as if she was watching to see how much I was going to leave. After already paying, it was just really uncomfortable and awkward. I probably wouldn't have left a tip at all based on the service, but I'm not that cold, so I did leave one. Unfortunately, I honestly don't feel like the service earned it. The food and margarita were good, but the service issues definitely put a damper on the experience. And seriously... who runs out of champagne by noon?!

Glen Bell, before Taco Bell was even a thing, had his burger stand right across the street and became a regular at Mitla. He ended up learning how they made their tacos, and the rest is history. Now let's talk about why I came. Those crispy tacos are SO good. That crunch, the seasoned meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato... everything just works. And I can never pass up a Carta Blanca . They also give you that little complimentary bowl of chile con carne, and let me tell you, that chile was delicious! The service was great, everyone was friendly, and the whole place just has a really good vibe. You can feel that old-school San Bernardino charm as soon as you walk in. Definitely one of those spots that makes you want to sit back, enjoy your food and take in the experience.

The salsa and warm chips were a wonderful start to the meal while we waited to place our order. I had combination #2 to try the hard shell taco (reportedly the inspiration for Taco Bell's), the chicken enchilada, and tamale. This was a delicious plate that brought a smile to my face and the horchata was also excellent. Service was a bit slow (very busy), but extremely friendly. If you're cruising Route 66 or out this way for any reason, give Mitla's a try! Pro tip: if you can't find street parking, they have a lot on the street by their south side.

Although their prices are high, $16 for a torta, it's usually worth it, because their portions are quite generous. Earlier today, I ordered a torta to go, and I ended up extremely disappointed when I got home. It had literally half the meat, half the beans, and half the cheese that it normally does. This was the first time I'd been disappointed with their food, but I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction. I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. It's very childish to do a subpar job and then get upset and frustrated when you're called on it. An adult apologizes and pledges to not blow it again. Anyhow, I don't tolerate disrespectful people so I'm done. I won't spend another penny there.
