Family dining ambience as evident on mostly group of people seating. Warm friendly reception. Very good service. Eggs Benedict's presentation looked so appetizing with hollandaise sauce oozing on top of poached eggs, ham and bread and actually tasted very good. Pork chop and Albondigas was also good but soup was a little different flavor than what I have in mind. It was more like a milder minestrone. I've been going to floor diners for years and today was gonna be my last time. There service was horrible. The server a short chunky curly hair light skin lady was very rude. I told her we were gonna leave and she told us to leave and make sure we never come back. I don't know if she's the owner or daughter of the owner but the service Was horrible today. A local diner that serves great diner food at reasonable prices with friendly service and classic old school jams playing in the background. It's casual, old school feeling, with the familiar dual kitchen of American and Mexican food including menudo in the weekends. Went in for a late brunch, we walked in at about 1:10pm knowing it closed at 2pm so we wanted to be quick to order. Walking in we stood there with another gentleman for about 5 minutes. When we were finally ready to be seated the lady did not speak she pointed to where we should sit. A different lady came and took our drink order and about 15 minutes later (keep in mind they close at 2pm) my husband had to go up to the counter to see if we order before or they come to the table where she somewhat shooed him off with "ya ya I'll be right there." I don't understand how she missed us since she sat us and and took an order next to us. I didn't get a good vibe or welcoming feeling from her. The food was average nothing to complain or brag about it was a quick meal that filled our stomach. This won't be my first choice to go to but worth a try. Price was somewhat expensive. My chilaquilles came out to 25$ 4.95 for rice and beans I did not ask for. The whole bill was 78. For a Family of 4. I'd rather spend that on a steak dinner. Most of the food was delicious but the service is just ok. maybe their servers can't deal with anything that isn't exactly on the menu. I asked for salsa on the side, they brought my plate slathered with salsa of the opposite one I asked for. I ate it anyway. I asked a side of hash browns. They forgot to put in the order. btw, the hash browns are large shreds of potato not completely shredded. It was ok just had a different texture than I'm used to. This little hidden gem in Colton is amazing! On outside it looks like a tiny little cafe, when you walk in, it's pretty roomy and cozy at the same time. Now the food omg granted it was our first time there I had the huevos rancheros with Chile verde! Sooo flipping good! Your greeted right away, and wait time never more than 5-10 minutes. Coffee and orange juice are good, plenty of other options on the menu. Found this restaurant thru a friend who recommended it. I'll start with the positive. Number 1 is they have pretty good food. I ordered the steak platter and a side pancake and it was very good. So kudos to the cook. On the negative side walking in we weren't really greeted. The waitresses who takes the orders just kinda looks down at the ground and doesn't make much eye contact. We waited about 20 minutes for her to finally come and take our order. I had to get up and ask if we could order. But once our order was take we waited another 15 minutes or so to get the food. Used to be our go to place but this place has changed alot. We are early risers and get there when they open at 7am. The menudo is not ready until about 8 on Saturday mornings. If you order Home fries it an up charge to add bell peppers and onions, never had an upcharge anywhere else. Also if you order a Mexican breakfast you can't substitute potatoes for rice.
