The service here isn't the best and unfortunately I had a bad experience. First it's located in West Covina Mall which always smells like cheese and feet for some reason. I came in knowing exactly which shoe I wanted. However the two associates were too busy to greet or even ask if I needed help. I had to go up to the counter to ask for help. They didn't have my size in stock so I ended up placing an online order through the store which I was told I would receive it in 3-5 days. Honestly, I should've just left to save my time. It took around 7 business days for my shoes to arrive and when it did, the box was extremely beat up! Once I received them, I immediately drove to the store and returned it. Only to be greeted by an unfriendly sales associate. I was straight forward in explaining my return, and he didn't say anything just inspected the shoes multiple times as if I did something to it. I visited this Journey's (West Covina Mall) on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with the sales associate that caused me to not purchase a pair of tennis shoes. I went with the intent to purchase a pair of Adidas. I walked inside, was greeted, and then one sales associate asked if I needed help. I showed her the shoes I wanted to try on and provided her with my size. One minute later, she returned from the back and stated they didn't have my size. She handed me one size smaller and one size larger. I tried both on and stated that they did not fit. At that time, she said I can loosen the laces on the smaller shoe, and then stated that they ran big. I repeated they didn't fit. I then told her, I would think about a different color and return to purchase them when I decide. Immediately after I finished my sentence, she seemed disinterested, rolled her eyes, and walked away from me without saying a word. This caused me to not want to purchase shoes from this location. My mom was with me and also was annoyed with the employees because she asked a question about a pair of Birkenstock sandals and they both looked at each other and started laughing. I went into this store with the intention of buying new shoes for my daughter. We were never greeted by anyone and the two females behind the counter were busy talking to one another, laughing and one was busy texting on her phone non stop. I was going to take pics and/or video of all of the above but it felt kind of creepy to do so. My daughter and I browsed for seven minutes and sixteen seconds (yes, I kept track of the time) and decided to leave the store for good when during this time, not one person approached to assist us and/or welcomed us into the store. I bought my shoes Journeys online. Unfortunately, they sent me different pair (dr Marten 1 taupe & 1 pink color). I tried to return it to the closest store which is in West Covina. The Manager refused to accept it & gave me a lot of excuses. Her reason is that, it will mess up their inventory and ask me to take it and drive all the way to Journeys in Montebello. On 12/5/21 I was on a mad hunt for black Doc Marten 1460 Pascal boots for my daughter's birthday present. Everywhere was sold out in her size. I called Journeys and was kindly assisted over the phone. I hurried over to the store and was immediately greeted by a really nice associate in a green sweater. (Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. If you remember us, my daughter was wearing a softball uniform!) She brought out the boots, unwrapped them, assisted my daughter with trying them on, suggested some socks, wrapped the boots back up, and handled the check out. Start to finish, less than 15 minutes. Just stopped by for a look-see, I don't really need a pair of shoes as I just bought 3 this month, but hey, I love shoes so I couldn't resist going in and checking out the shop's offerings. They have Docs on sale. 15 years ago I might've given in to the temptation. I still have 3 of them that I keep in their original boxes. Winter boots are on sale too. I stood firm and didn't buy shoes, I did get a pack of ankle socks. They felt comfy when I squeezed them. Although it's a small shop, it's packed with many different brands of shoes, boots and sandals. Located near the main entrance after Red Robin and across from JC Penney. I went into the West Covina store to get my daughter a pair of shoes she wanted for her birthday, the staff there (maybe 5-7 employees) were standing around by the various signage just talking, not working. I had to pull one of them away just to get the desired product, while the other employees gave me nothing but darted looks. Their manager, if you can call her that, was doing nothing but encouraging their behaviour. After finally getting an employee to "help" us, he not only did not know the price (which is on the bottom of said shoe) he was also quite snarky when it was explain'd to him. They didn't have her correct size, I ask'd if there was another journeys store that might, he stated "no". Just "no". I ask'd him if he was serious, he then states "maybe online, I don't know". I ask him again, he says "try Foot Locker". I ask'd for a different employee to assist us, the manager didn't want to help in the least as she was nowhere to be found! I finally got him to look it up on the store computer to order the shoes online, I gave him my shipping address 5 (five) times, as we were leaving on holiday, he proceeded to tell me "journeys does not ship products over state lines"! I ask'd the employee if this was some kind of joke or tv show prank, the manager finally came over to explain that this was store policy. My daughter ask'd about another item but both the employee & manager were completely dumbfounded by the store computer. We, as a family, shall be BOYCOTTING your store due to horrible customer service! Came in on my lunch break for some Toms. They don't have all their stock on display which made it hard to figure out what color shoe I wanted. I went back and fourth with the sales rep asking what shoe color she had and what sizes. It was frustrating because I feel like if you are selling it, you should display it so we know what you're selling. However, the sales rep kept trying to do everything in her power to make me happy. She laid out all the options like finding me male size equivalents, offering to order it for me, etc. Unfortunately I needed them for that evening, so I had to settle on whatever they had in stock. Frustrated that I was going to walk away empty handed with no shoes, she encouraged me to try on another pair identical to the ones I had tried that didn't fit. She told me all Toms shoes fit slightly differently which I had no idea!!! Tried on the other pair and magically they fit! I left so happy I listened to her and tried on another pair. The kids store in this mall is a lot better . I went in to journeys one day and left very unsatisfied and extremely upset. I went across to the kids store and they were bubbly and helpful . The manager Joselin helped us out she was great . Since they didn't have the shoes i wanted at the kids store I had to order them but anything before going back to journey's adults .
