Honestly, this young man made my day! It's so refreshing to come across someone his age who is genuinely hardworking, thoughtful, and so good at what he does. I was just casually browsing with my child and wasn't even planning to buy anything yet. I actually wanted to wait for the big holiday sales to get matching shoes for the two of us. But this young man was SO helpful and attentive. He kept bringing me shoes he thought I might like, helped me with different sizes and styles, and somehow always knew what to bring next. He was patient, friendly, and never pushy at all. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in his job. That kind of attitude is rare these days, especially from someone so young. I ended up buying because of how wonderful the whole experience was. Whoever hired him made a great choice -- this young man is definitely a keeper! He deserves some recognition (and honestly, a raise!). read more

Journeys - Shoe Stores Near Me - West Covina, California

I visited this Journey's (West Covina Mall) on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with the sales associate that caused me to not purchase a pair of tennis shoes. I went with the intent to purchase a pair of Adidas. I walked inside, was greeted, and then one sales associate asked if I needed help. I showed her the shoes I wanted to try on and provided her with my size. One minute later, she returned from the back and stated they didn't have my size. She handed me one size smaller and one size larger. I tried both on and stated that they did not fit. At that time, she said I can loosen the laces on the smaller shoe, and then stated that they ran big. I repeated they didn't fit. I then told her, I would think about a different color and return to purchase them when I decide. Immediately after I finished my sentence, she seemed disinterested, rolled her eyes, and walked away from me without saying a word. This caused me to not want to purchase shoes from this location. My mom was with me and also was annoyed with the employees because she asked a question about a pair of Birkenstock sandals and they both looked at each other and started laughing. Overall this was not a pleasant experience and I believe that customer service should be top priority. I will not purchase shoes from this location in the future. read more

Very unprofessional. I believe the Managers name is Miriam but she didn't want to give her name up. She should be fired. Terrible attitude and seems like she doesn't like her job. I was only in there for a brief min but I can hear her yelling at customers and associates. HIRE A NEW MANAGER read more

This was the only place that had the shoes I wanted restocked and in my size. The young man that helped me was very sweet and charming. He even went out of his way to refer me to some other shoes. If I had more allowance to spend on shoes I would have gotten them. I went to three stores before this and wasn't nearly helped in the way I was here. I left feeling very welcomed. I would return again to get my shoes here. read more

Journeys - Bag successfully secured - Shoe Stores Near Me - West Covina, California

I went into this store with the intention of buying new shoes for my daughter. We were never greeted by anyone and the two females behind the counter were busy talking to one another, laughing and one was busy texting on her phone non stop. I was going to take pics and/or video of all of the above but it felt kind of creepy to do so. My daughter and I browsed for seven minutes and sixteen seconds (yes, I kept track of the time) and decided to leave the store for good when during this time, not one person approached to assist us and/or welcomed us into the store. Who needs customer service such as this when there are many other stores ready and willing to make customer a top priority. read more

The service here isn't the best and unfortunately I had a bad experience. First it's located in West Covina Mall which always smells like cheese and feet for some reason. I came in knowing exactly which shoe I wanted. However the two associates were too busy to greet or even ask if I needed help. I had to go up to the counter to ask for help. They didn't have my size in stock so I ended up placing an online order through the store which I was told I would receive it in 3-5 days. Honestly, I should've just left to save my time. It took around 7 business days for my shoes to arrive and when it did, the box was extremely beat up! Once I received them, I immediately drove to the store and returned it. Only to be greeted by an unfriendly sales associate. I was straight forward in explaining my return, and he didn't say anything just inspected the shoes multiple times as if I did something to it. It was like he was finding a reason to deny the return. I ended up ordering online from the shoe company directly. Go to a different store! read more

I went to this Journeys to find a pair of sneakers and a very nice employee went to the back to find my size. Unfortunately, they were out of my specific size, but the worker gave me multiple options, recommended similar styles and was just very sweet the entire time. I bought my shoes Journeys online. Unfortunately, they sent me different pair (dr Marten 1 taupe & 1 pink color). I tried to return it to the closest store which is in West Covina. The Manager refused to accept it & gave me a lot of excuses. Her reason is that, it will mess up their inventory and ask me to take it and drive all the way to Journeys in Montebello. Poor customer service!!! Not very helpful!!! read more

If I can give this place a - star I will. This is the second time I go to the store and when I walk in I never get greeted. There was 3 -4 employees working there and did not acknowledge me or my husband. We made it obvious that I wanted to try out some shoes, but none of them decided to ask if I needed help with anything. Just going to say if you want to buy shoes there then expect a long wait! On 12/5/21 I was on a mad hunt for black Doc Marten 1460 Pascal boots for my daughter's birthday present. Everywhere was sold out in her size. I called Journeys and was kindly assisted over the phone. I hurried over to the store and was immediately greeted by a really nice associate in a green sweater. (Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. If you remember us, my daughter was wearing a softball uniform!) She brought out the boots, unwrapped them, assisted my daughter with trying them on, suggested some socks, wrapped the boots back up, and handled the check out. Start to finish, less than 15 minutes. She was relatable, friendly, so willing to help SELL a pair of shoes. Even my teen daughter commented on what an easy process it was and what great customer service we received. Thank you! read more

Just stopped by for a look-see, I don't really need a pair of shoes as I just bought 3 this month, but hey, I love shoes so I couldn't resist going in and checking out the shop's offerings. They have Docs on sale. 15 years ago I might've given in to the temptation. I still have 3 of them that I keep in their original boxes. Winter boots are on sale too. I stood firm and didn't buy shoes, I did get a pack of ankle socks. They felt comfy when I squeezed them. Although it's a small shop, it's packed with many different brands of shoes, boots and sandals. Located near the main entrance after Red Robin and across from JC Penney. It's been a while since I came back to this store as I prefer to do my shopping on line but that's just me. read more

4 stars only because it's a shoe store. I can't really get 5 star excited about shoes but the nuggs did. All these years nuggs and I searched far and wide for some heelys that fit and didn't look like she was attending a circus rodeo. Today she found them and got them for her birthday. Great customer service 5 stars. The young lady behind the counter found her size and made sure all was good even though it seemed like she was the only one working today. The young ladies ability to multi-task was exceptional as other customers requested her attention. Great bday gift for the nuggs..now I'm waiting for her to fall so I can record it lol read more

Two lady said these boots not sold from them and I said I traded another boots to return! But series number inside the shoes and box were same. How could I trade another one? I went into the West Covina store to get my daughter a pair of shoes she wanted for her birthday, the staff there (maybe 5-7 employees) were standing around by the various signage just talking, not working. I had to pull one of them away just to get the desired product, while the other employees gave me nothing but darted looks. Their manager, if you can call her that, was doing nothing but encouraging their behaviour. After finally getting an employee to "help" us, he not only did not know the price (which is on the bottom of said shoe) he was also quite snarky when it was explain'd to him. They didn't have her correct size, I ask'd if there was another journeys store that might, he stated "no". Just "no". I ask'd him if he was serious, he then states "maybe online, I don't know". I ask him again, he says "try Foot Locker". I ask'd for a different employee to assist us, the manager didn't want to help in the least as she was nowhere to be found! I finally got him to look it up on the store computer to order the shoes online, I gave him my shipping address 5 (five) times, as we were leaving on holiday, he proceeded to tell me "journeys does not ship products over state lines"! I ask'd the employee if this was some kind of joke or tv show prank, the manager finally came over to explain that this was store policy. My daughter ask'd about another item but both the employee & manager were completely dumbfounded by the store computer. We, as a family, shall be BOYCOTTING your store due to horrible customer service! Thanks for ruining my daughter's birthday! 26 July 5:45p Employee: 5'10", black shirt, branded: Hundreds, no name on name tag. Great shoes and the staff is really nice and friendly. They says welcome you and want to help you find what you are looking for.

Came in on my lunch break for some Toms. They don't have all their stock on display which made it hard to figure out what color shoe I wanted. I went back and fourth with the sales rep asking what shoe color she had and what sizes. It was frustrating because I feel like if you are selling it, you should display it so we know what you're selling. However, the sales rep kept trying to do everything in her power to make me happy. She laid out all the options like finding me male size equivalents, offering to order it for me, etc. Unfortunately I needed them for that evening, so I had to settle on whatever they had in stock. Frustrated that I was going to walk away empty handed with no shoes, she encouraged me to try on another pair identical to the ones I had tried that didn't fit. She told me all Toms shoes fit slightly differently which I had no idea!!! Tried on the other pair and magically they fit! I left so happy I listened to her and tried on another pair. I have an in-between shoe size so it's not out of the norm that I just can't wear certain brands or types of shoes. Thanks for a great experience! read more
