The only pair I liked in my size was also the last pair they had, but they were noticeably scuffed and damaged. I asked an employee if leather conditioner would fix the marks, and she honestly told me she wasn't sure because some of the scuffs looked pretty deep. She asked a coworker to take a look, and he was actually fantastic. He showed me how to properly condition the boots, explained that some of the damage would probably still be visible after the conditioner dried, and was very knowledgeable. Since they were the last pair and were clearly damaged, I asked if they offered any kind of discount. He said they could probably do 10% and would check with the manager. I also asked if they offered a military discount, and he told me yes, that was another 10%, so I would receive both. He came back after speaking with the manager and told me she approved it, with the only condition being that the boots would be final sale because they were damaged. While I thought that policy was odd, I agreed because I really wanted the boots. He put the boots aside at the front while I continued shopping. When I checked out, I told the cashier the boots at the register were mine. As soon as he picked up the note, his entire attitude changed. He questioned why I was receiving the 10% discount, and even after I explained that another employee had already spoken with the manager, he interrupted me and said he had to verify it. I honestly felt like he thought I had made the whole thing up. The manager came over, seemed visibly annoyed, and spoke quietly with the cashier. I showed my military ID. Right then I received an important phone call that I had to answer, but while I was on the phone the cashier was still able to ask if I had a rewards account and continue checking me out. After the manager walked away, he scanned everything, gave me my total, and never mentioned that the manager had changed her decision. It wasn't until I looked at the total and specifically asked whether the discount had been applied that he finally told me the manager had decided not to honor the damage discount after all. At that point I had somewhere I needed to be, I needed the boots, and I didn't have time to argue, so I paid and left. What bothers me most isn't even the discount itself--it's the lack of communication and professionalism. If the manager changed her mind, someone should have simply told me before ringing everything up instead of waiting until I noticed the total. On top of that, I still don't understand the logic of selling a visibly damaged item at full price while also saying it can't be returned because it's damaged. The employee who originally helped me Jerry I think was excellent and deserves recognition for his customer service. Unfortunately, the manager and checkout employee experience completely overshadowed that. For what should have been an exciting first experience buying my first pair of boots, it ended up leaving a really bad impression. I will not be back again.

Instead she listened to our story of having four kiddos, assisted me with colors/styles that worked well for me, helped multiple customers seamlessly (even added holes to someone's sandals free of charge) and never once rushed me as we stayed passed her closing time. She is one of the most down to earth business owners we've ever met and she is extremely knowledgeable about the brand. She shared that although kiddos weren't what she wanted she commended families like us. And now I commend her for using her gift to run that store so well! So what I ended up buying is the best part of the story!! I grabbed this cute clog that I never thought I'd actually buy and was like "hey this is comfy". She proceeds to tell me "please take that clog, it's my last one and everyone keeps asking if we'll get more!" I tell her the pair I was wearing someone gifted me about 8 years ago. She said as soon as I walked in the store she was going to tell me I couldn't leave without buying a new pair because of how worn they were and that those weren't supporting my lower back. So I asked her to give it to me straight about the price and she immediately said she'd give me a discount since it was the last pair! As a mom of four I was like umm yes please because I'm super frugal. So I went to pay and scrounged through my purse for any cash I had to avoid as much possible from the credit card processing fee-luckily I had a bit since my bday had just passed. I gave her the cash and asked if I could pay the remaining with card. She says you know what... I'll give them to you for the cash you just gave me. I said what are you serious?!?! And she said "yes you need them to keep raising those babies." I gave her a hug and told her thank you because it was more of blessing than she knew. The "feels" you get from finding a gem of an item and not paying full price, I can't tell you how amazing it is. But if we are talking about managing finances and being savvy with money, well then, you need to know how to shop! Over the years I've picked up wardrobes of good deals! Hugo Boss and Armani suits for on average $400-$500. Joe' Jeans for $50-$80. The best deal I ever found was a T-shirt for $0.01...that's right "one cent!" These days I enjoy shopping online. It's much more convenient and allows me to do a price comparison. Usually I will purchase two different sizes, then keep the size that fits best. It's also nice to have your items shipped to the local store, that way you don't have to stress with "Porch Pirates" stealing you deliveries! The Nordstrom Notes are always nice little surprises to add to the shopping experience. The team at the Oxnard is always willing to help with a pickup or return. I've been a happy Nordstrom Rack shopper for decades.

But an associate helpfully led me to the shelf that had the shoe I was interested in. I tried different options but found that I needed extra wide, which was not available in my size. I was ready to give up since the shoe was on Amazon at the same price, but the associate came back to check on me. I told her about my requirements and she checked the back and they actually had the shoe that I wanted! There was also a 40% off sale here, and the return policy is a generous 45 days, better than Amazon's 30 days. So it totally made sense to buy here, and it also supports our city. Shopping at outlet stores doesn't always get you the best price, but in this case it absolutely did!

When we left the store we checked online and UGG sells them for $20 less online and every other retailer was selling them for $20. So not only is the outlet not cheaper.
