This is a good spot to start if you're coming to the outlets for shoes. We like to start here whenever we come with our kids as they have a good selection of brands and styles vs. most other stores in the outlets that are specific to a brand. Do they always have something we want? No. But sometimes the do and other times they help us get a sense of what to look out for at the other shops. It's a great place to at least dip your toes in first. Staff is fine. They're often only around when you seek them out. They're not trying to avoid helping, but the store is often bare bones so the staff need to be busy operating the registers and other things vs roaming around looking to help customers. Prices are great though. So if you find something you like, don't hesitate to pick them up. Chances are you either won't find the same thing in the area or, if you do, for the same price. read more

My wife and I sometimes come to Rack Room Shoes at the Camarillo Outlets when we want to get some shoes for cheap. They pretty much always have a buy one pair, get one pair 50% off deal going on. It's nice if you're on a budget, but it's slightly annoying since the shoes for the deal are not always clearly marked so you might get a little surprise at the register. Sad day when you waste $50.... I bought a pair of shoes - great looking shoes - one is just fine and the other is defective. The criss-cross strap is falling under my foot making them impossible to actually wear. I went to do a return and since I have to pay the return shipping, it would cost me half of what I already paid just for that. So $25 to return = no shoes for $25... or 1 pair for more than $75 (if I return and re-purchase; also pay shipping twice).... I should have read the reviews BEFORE purchasing.... I get the company not wanting to lose $ on their product - but as a consumer, I don't want to lose $ purchasing your product which is what happened - I lose $25 or $50.... Either way, lose lose for me.... I won't be back. read more

I try to buy a couple of pairs of Brooks or ASICS twice a year so I can rotate them. Edward was the best sales associate I think I've ever had help me. Hi I am a regular customer who has been shopping at the store and online for couple years (Probably bought more then 3000 shoes). Although there has been many times when Rack Room sends dirty, stained, pen marked shoes and sometimes shoes with a plain white box instead of New Balance or Nike, I somehow tried to understand. Well the experience my husband had with CELESTE who is a team leader of the store is intimidating and very very un professional and I am sad that such a person like that would lead the team, because there are other good people at the store. We shop a lot in store and also online. MANY MANY times they send shoes with sensors on..... COMMON PPL do you guys not even check before sending???? I don't think you do because if you did you would not send dirty shoes as if someone worn it for months and returned it and sell it at regular price. Well we received another new balance shoe with a sensor on and my husband headed over to the store to have it taken off. He arrived couple minutes passed 7pm. Apparently on google and yelp your store hours are 9:00pm. If you change it, UPDATE IT so people know..... People these days look up hours before they go.... My husband was in front of the store, all lights were on two girls were working. Chitchatting and person had a earphone on which was CELESTE. My husband stood in front of door with the shoe showing the sensor and the two girls both saw him but ignored. Okay, we've been shopping at the store for years everyone knows our face. We were not there to purchase or do a return. If a person waits outside the door for that long, you can at least come and ask what they need and let them know your situation or handle the situation. Taking a sensor off takes 1-2 seconds. Is it our fault that you guys sent the shoe with a sensor???? We drove an hour there for that. Not knowing any situation my husband waited in front of the door for more then 30 minutes. For 30 minutes long the girls looked at him from time to time and laughed. We have it all filmed. Ok, Celeste then calls security and gets escorted out of the store, does not say a single word and couple minutes later three police officers come up to my husband in police car and lights at him. What did we do wrong? Why do you do false report. We have everything on camera. Police asked if my husband banged on the door if he was being aggressive. NOOOOO he was just filiming his youtube channel of how intimidating this situation was. But you know what happened later? The police heard what the situation and he took him to ROSS to take the sensor off which took less than 2 seconds. If you are working for a company as a team leader I think you should take more responsibility and also have better customer service or at least be able to lead the team. Just because someone is not fluent in english doesn't give you the right to do false imagination report CELESTE. We are going to do what we can to teach you what you did was wrong read more

So impressed with the fitting service that was given to my husband when he was looking for new running shoes. The examined his current shoes and could even accurately detect that he had an old foot injury due to the wear on his shoe tread. Just got out of this store! My mom and I came in a few minutes before 7 (we thought the store closed at 8). Emily and Edward were both kind enough to keep the store open for a few more minutes to accommodate us. Edward went out of his way to help me pick out a few styles of sandals I really needed. He helped me get the sizes and styles I needed with an amazing attitude. Edward truly went out of his way to make this experience great for me by explaining the benefits of the slippers I was picking out (I was asking because I recently was going to get a foot procedure and wanted maximum comfort) and he let me try them on. Bought my son a new pair of shoes and when I got home I found out they were mismatched. The worker pulled them down from the upper shelves so we didn't think that they'd be mismatched. I called the store and spoke to the manager who told me the only thing she can do is switch them out for me IN STORE. The gas alone from Orange County is more than the shoes value. I asked her to cover the cost of shipping and issue me a refund. She proceeded to say again there is nothing she can do and punted me to the 800 number. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Two days ago I went to this store to buy some tennis shoes because my current ones were hurting my feet. I have never been so impressed with the knowledge of someone working in a shoe store. Edward was so incredibly helpful. He looked at the bottom of the tennis shoes I walked in with and explained to me why they were hurting my feet - talked about the tread, my arch being high, which requires a different type of shoes, and the pattern of the wear and tear on my shoes and why I needed a certain type of shoe. I've been wearing the shoes that I bought based on his recommendation for two days now and it feels like I'm walking on a cloud. He also helped my elderly mom find a comfortable pair of shoes for her feet too. And the whole time he was so friendly and positive. I've never had such a great time buying shoes before. This store is part of the Camarillo Outlets, but for us it's local. I dropped by for some much needed replacement sneakers, and ended up getting a new pair of the exact same ones I bought at the Cabazon Outlet store and for the same price (Asics)... more than a year later. This is the first time I haven't had to switch shoes, and I have a lot of back issues which makes shoes really important, so of course I'm thrilled with that first. But what really stood out to me is the guy that was working there- he checked in with me to see if I needed anything, answered questions quickly and professionally, and then when he saw that they didn't have my size, he said they'd ship the correct size for me for FREE. And here I am with them three days later at my doorstep. He also mentioned the buy one, get one half off, and held my order for me while I picked up my better half and they got their own set of shoes... a great deal all around. Hard to come by great customer service nowadays, so I'm glad I found it here... and I love my new shoes! (I should note that they have everything there- sports shoes for men, women and kids, as well as dressy and work shoes.... they have every kind, clearly labeled and well stocked- including wides). Giving recognition and praise to Rack Room's tentpole employee Edward who has given me the utmost attention to detail in finding me suitable, functional, and reasonably priced shoes. I am on my feet for 12 hours a day for work with heavy lifting, and as I'm breaking them in now I'm thanking Edward with every step my happy little feet are taking. He sold me on the Asics Gel Cumulus 18 shoes and while hot pink is not my absolute favorite color, the clouds (aka the shoes) I'm walking on outweighs that small detail. Breaking them in has been painless, and so comfortable!!! Second note, they didn't have my size in the store (literally the only size they didnt have, their stock is still good!) so I patiently waited about 5 business days for them to arrive at my doorstep but it was so worth it!!!! These are my second pair of work shoes I've bought from Edward because he really knows his stuff. I would of given this place one star if it wasn't for their awesome knowledgeable sales associate. He pretty much knew all his facts about shoes and which ones were best for me (running shoes). He was very nice and provided excellent customer service. Long story short. Wanted to get my triple A discount. Was advised I had to walk almost all the way to the other opposite end of the outlets to go get this piece of paper that had a code on it ( I've worked in retail for 6 years) most managers end up giving into giving a discount code if the purchase is going to be good. I was going to buy 8 pairs of shoes. But they refused and said they would hold my items if I wanted to go get the pamphlet. So I walked all the way over there to get this pamphlet and came back. They apparently had put my shoes away. I was furious. This was ridiculous. What was the point of having them "hold" it for me if they put the items back. So I ended up getting the items myself. No help from their managers/ cashier or the girl who told me she would personally hold it. (Have the respect to hold it until closing) I did end up purchasing two pairs of the shoes i found. (I ended up having to order one pair online and it would be mailed to my house at no cost. ). They also weren't able to print a receipt for my transactions. And just said if I needed to return that I would be fine to not worry about it. (I'm pretty sure almost everywhere you go you need a receipt to get original form of payment back. If not you just get store credit) and they claimed their systems aren't able to reprint receipts.most stores I go to have that ability to reprint a receipt or email it to you. The only reason I got some shoes was because it was buy one get one fifty percent off (I wasn't going to buy the 8 pairs anymore after their mess up.) I only got two pairs of shoes to get the deal. This store chain is mostly on the east coast. They have shoes online but most of the good shoes (Nike etc) are only available in The store. Unfortunately for me this is the closest location so I'll just have to resort to going to DSW or off Broadway shoes or just shop online on their website. I was so glad my father and I went to Rack Room Shoes in the Camarillo Factory Outlet. My father and I were greeted warmly by Ricardo as we entered the store. Later, Edward (who is mentioned in many reviews here) helped my father so much! His knowledge of footware and what a customer needs is really amazing! He measured my father's feet and recommended the proper size (which my father was incorrect about (including the proper width)) and he looked at the wear in my father's old shoes and determined my father needed arch support in his new shoes.
